I know King Bjarki and Aspen will not be happy I returned without my guards, but they did quickly follow me. Castle staff were alerted to my return and offered me some tea, which I happily accepted. I return to my balcony and get comfy on my wicker patio daybed. I pull the sunshade canopy up, sipping my tea as the conversation plays in my head over and over.

I wonder who else knows about this, if it’s even true. Does Aspen even know? Could they have been talking about my biological father, Enzo? But that can’t be right, he wasn’t a lycan and he wasn’t related to dad. I can hear my door open and close, making me let out a sigh. I knew Aspen would arrive eventually.

“You heard didn’t you?”

I whip my head up at him so fast. It hurts me a bit more that he knew this whole time and didn’t tell me.
