I wake up early the next day, unable to sleep. Today is my birthday party and at midnight I will find out if my fated mate is here. I finally had inspiration to paint something other than the black wolf, but it doesn’t make me feel any better. I set my paintbrush down, admiring my new painting. I painted me and my sister with my dragon sitting next to me and her wolf sitting next to her.

“Oh Malayah, help me out here. What should I do,” I whisper to no one in particular.

“Well that is a silly question.”

I look over towards my bed and find Malayah sitting there, still looking the same age when she died.

“How are you here? I must be going crazy or having a vision.”
