Elowen:

“Delivery for Ms. Elowen.”

Someone knocked on my door, causing me to jerk up from sleep.

I sighed as I opened my eyes, then I grabbed my duvet and pulled it over my head.

“Tell Dante I do not want his gifts,” I said, shutting my eyes in hopes of going back to sleep.

The person pulled the door open, causing my brows to become wrinkled, and I cursed them under my breath.

“What if the gift is delivered by Dante himself? Would you still want it?” Dante asked, and I pulled off the duvet to see him standing with a flower bouquet, some paper bags, and chocolate.

At first, I assumed it was a dream until he came over and kissed my cheek, causing an inrush of emotions.

“I’m sorry for how I reacted earlier,” he said, and I sat up, staring at him without a word.

I know I had my share of blame, but at least I didn’t cast him out of my sight, and I would never do such a thing. Did he expect me to accept just an apology?
