SELENA'S POV

Only the two of us stood beneath the frigid sky on a snowy December night.

He grabs my hands and pulls me in closer. His eyes, like mine, are full of bliss, which I believed could only happen in movies. The butterflies in my stomach began to tickle my entire body.

For me, it's a lovely night, and I'm feeling like a princess.

He's speaking with his heart rather than his words when he says, "Thank you for coming into my life, Selena."

My shaking hands smiled at him as they touched his face.

"Thank you for always making my heart warm, even when the weather was so chilly."

My eyes immediately closed to his lips' every contact on mine, it was so lovely and pure, as he pushed me closer and grabbed my lips.

I felt a searing stab in my back, and my eyes were shaking as I stared at him in shock that he could do such a thing to me.

His face is now covered in dark, and he appears to be a new person.

"Please accept my apologies."

He takes the knife from his pocket and positions it to stab me in the heart.

I massaged my temple because of that dream. It's that dream again, it has been two years since I dreamt about it.

Until now, the face of the guy is blurred. I can't think a person who will love me and stabbed in back when I'm still clueless. I'm just about to get out of my bed when my phone rang.

"Hmm?"

[Sel.]

"Britanny, what's the matter?"

[Can we meet today?]

"I need to go somewhere, is it urgent or something?"

[I can't say, but please meet me. I need to see you now.]

"Why?"

[Just meet me later at Sandrea's coffee shop. If I arrived there first, I'll text and wait for you.]

"But— she hung up already. What's her problem?"

I took a shower and prepare myself to go to Sandrea's coffee shop, it's against my will since I don't want to see her for a while, but base on her voice, she really needs me.

My phone beeped when I was about to hop in my car.

'Take care. I love you.'

I smiled as I looked up in our apartment's window. Jaxon is smiling and waving at me, I didn't bother to reply in his text since he already knows my answer.

We're living in together for almost one year now, he's not that type of rich guys who doesn't know anything about household chores. He is well in cooking and repairing broken things in our apartment, he once said to me that we can get a house, but I refused. I want us to start in a small space and get a larger one if we already start a family.

Sandrea's coffee shop is not that far from our apartment, that's why I'm the first one who arrived in that place. While waiting Britanny to come, I ordered a tea and texted her that I'm already here in the coffee shop.

I looked around the coffee shop, and unexpectedly, Mr. Klein appeared in my sight. He's wearing a casual clothes while talking someone on his phone, it seems that he's not in the mood because his forehead is creased.

He suddenly looked up, so I panicked to hid my face. Minutes later, a girl entered the café, she walked straight to Mr. Klein's table. I can't hear their conversation, but base on his facial expressions, he's irritated to her.

What's the matter between this two? Is he Mr. Klein's girlfriend? Mr. Klein is almost having the same age as Jaxon's, that's why out of all the investors, Mr. Klein is his closest.

"Did you wait for long? I'm sorry." Britanny said while catching up her breath, she sat down and take the water in her front.

"No, I just arrived. What's the matter?"

She fixed herself first and looked at my eyes, "Sel, we will be going to Thailand."

My brows furrowed, "What do you mean? You're going with whom?" I asked, she holds my hands, she's trembling. What happened to her?

"I'm... I'm... uhm—"

"Hey Selena, long time, no see! How are you? Congratulations on your engagement, by the way." Mr. Klein cuts Britanny's word. I smiled at him and looked at the girl standing beside him, she's pretty, and it's obvious she owns a company.

"Thank you, I'm doing well. What are you doing here?" I asked, like I didn't saw them earlier.

"We're just talking about business. Oh right, Selena, meet Maxine Leviant, the CEO of Jhonson's Investment company. Maxine, meet Selena Formosus, Jaxon's new secretary and fiancée," he introduced us to each other. So she's Maxine? She's prettier in personal than the pictures that I saw before, that's why I can't recognize her.

"Hi." I was about to shake hands with her, but she rolled her eyes at me and walked away without saying a word. We followed her in looks, Mr. Klein leaned closer to me.

"I'm sorry about her attitude, she's just jealous of you. You know? She can't accept that you ended up to be soon to be wife of her ex-boyfriend."

I nod, "I understand."

He smiled at us, "I need to go also. I'm sorry, it seems I interrupted your conversation. Goodbye, nice to see you again, Ms. Selena."

He waved at us as he is walking outside the café. I looked again at Britanny, she's now massaging her own hands, she only does that whenever she's scared or nervous.

"What happened to you, Brittany? What made you nervous?"

"I'm going to Thailand with Wade, we want a new environment for our baby..." she said slowly. I chuckled and sips at my tea.

"W-why are you laughing? You're not mad or something? You said that I shouldn't marry Wade."

I shook my head while smiling, "No, why would I? I'm just shocked that time because is almost married to Samira then you'll say that you're going to marry him out of nowhere. But, why do you need to go to Thailand?"

"Wade said that it's better for our baby to born in not that stressful environment, it's also for our safety once Samira is out of the prison." She explained, I just nod at her.

"I thought something bad happened, that's why you called so urgent."

She stared at me like she wants to say something again to me.

"Why? What's with that stare?"

"Sel, what if one day, you'll found out that we're hiding something from you, will you forgive us?" she asked that made me stopped from sipping. Does that means, my conclusions are all correct?

"It depends," I leaned and looked at her eyes, "On what kind of truth you're hiding from me. If that's about my family or personality, it's hard for me to forgive you again."

She sighed, "Just think that I didn't ask you. I need to go now, you're going to Jaxon's place, right?"

"Hmm, I'm going to meet his parents." She looked at me again, her eyes are full of fear and worries. I can't really tell what's going on her mind, she's so unpredictable now.

"Take care."

She waved at me and left. I stayed at the café for a few minutes to think, my heart skipped a beat when I remember that Maxine is here, again. I'm scared that she's going to make a move and get Jaxon away from me.

She wouldn't do that, right? It's a scratch on her reputation as a CEO of a company if she will do that. No, she wouldn't do that, and Jaxon won't let her happen what I'm thinking right now. Argh!

"You took a while, how's your conversation with Britanny?" Jaxon asked while cooking. I sat at the sofa and wore out my sandals.

"She just said that she's going to Thailand with Wade for their baby," I said.

He looked at me with shocked expression in his eyes, "Why? When they will go to Thailand?"

"I don't know, I think she became distracted to Mr. Klein."

"Why?"

I looked at him, "He's at the same café, Maxine is with him."

He just nods and prepare the table to eat, "Let's eat. We need to go to our house before my parents arrive."

I sat down while he's transferring the food at our plates, did I make him uncomfortable by bringing up Maxine? Is it still hurts for him?

"Did I made you uncomfortable?" I asked without looking at him. The atmosphere became heavy between us, I shouldn't say that to him.

"Uncomfortable by what?"

"Bringing up Maxine's name. I think, I made you uncomfortable by that." I said silently.

He didn't speak at all until we finished our food, his silence stabbed my heart. It means that it's still having a chance that they can be together again if he wants.

"Just be confident when you already met them. Don't worry about anything, okay?" Jaxon said while driving and pats my shoulder.

We're now on our way to their house to meet his parents. I'm more nervous on this than being interviewed by panel, it's not that nervous, it has fear that made my hands to sweat. Gosh, Selana, relax!

"I'll try."

We talked about small things, until we reached a huge gate that automatically opened when it sensored Jaxon's car plate. We pass by the road that is full of trees and grasses in the side, like it's a park. My mouth is opened while watching that kind of scenery, it's so beautiful. The car stopped and Jaxon assist me to enter a palace like house, it has huge door, it's literally gave me a palace vibes.

"Good evening, Ma'am, Sir."

The maids greeted us as we enter their house—mansion rather, it's so huge. They lead us to a fancy dining table, it is full of foods and expensive wine and drinks, by this, you can say that Jaxon is a living prince.

"We just wait them to go downstairs, okay?" Jaxon said while holding my hand tightly to comfort me. I nod at her and prepare myself for hurtful words that they will shoot to me whenever that they didn't want to be their son's wife.

"They're here, already?"

A voice of woman echoed in the whole place, it's from the recieving area of this mansion, followed by the footsteps walking closer to us.

"Jaxon... my son?" she looked at us. My head start to hurt when I saw her, the necklace on her neck is so familiar to me.

"Mom! I miss you!" Jaxon stood up and hugged her mom.

"I miss you too. Is she the girl you're always talking about?" she asked while pointing at me. Her brows furrowed when she stared at my eyes, it looks like she's digging deep on my soul.

"You're familiar..."

"Did you meet each other already before?" Jaxon asked, but her mother ignored him and walked closer to me. She touched my face and her eyes widened like she remembered something.

"What's your name?"

"Selena, Selena Formosus." I answered and she sighed in relief.

"I thought you're someone I know. Anyway, let's wait for your father, he's finishing his work upstairs." She said as she sat down in the other side of the table.

Jaxon talked to her mother while waiting for his father. I'm just smiling and nodding at them, I can't talk for too much now because of fear and nervousness, and it became doubled when an old man in a suit approached the table. My heart beats quickly when I heard his voice.

"Good evening, oh, we have a visitor. I almost forgot about it."

His voice is so much like the voices that I always hear from my dreams. What's my connection with him? Is he part of my past or something?

"Good evening," I greeted nervously, just like his wife, he also stared at me like we already met before.

"Did we met already? You're so familiar to me." He said, as he sat down next to his wife, without looking away from me.

"Maybe? I don't know."

He stared at me and shook his head, "It's impossible, she's already dead. Anyway, what are you doing for life?"

Dead? Did they kill someone?

I'm not really comfortable with them, I feel so unsafe, even Jaxon is just beside me. Their aura is different, it's so scary, my heart became heavy when I saw both of them.

I felt unusual with them, did we really meet each other before? Why can't I remember?
