CHAPTER TWENTY THREE: ROMAN EMPIRE

She opened her eyes in her weakness and immediately recognized she was in a hospital with blue walls, white mattresses, white light , and an antiseptic smell.

For some reason, she never went totally unconscious, no. Not while the nurses took her in, not while they injected a drip into a brachial vein, not while they conversed amongst themselves saying;

“she will be okay, just a little trauma and a few bruises here and there. She’ll be back soon. She just needs some rest”

Now she  was fully conscious and suddenly felt a surge of anxiety and adrenaline when it hit her;

‘where is Cas’ mother?’

She was supposedly brought in with her but on looking around at the few other beds in the empty ward, she was not there! So where could she be.

She got up swiftly with caution not to make a noise and gain attention.

She trudged to the door, staggering
