Carmen's POV

In a cloak, I stood behind a tree in the woods waiting for my contacts to arrive. Actually, I didn't feel like sending the message through anyone. I wanted to see Alpha Mark eye to eye but I had no choice, for now.

I heard some rumblings behind me and I quickly turned to look. There, I saw Alpha Mark himself coming towards me, his face like a farmer's that just got rain after years of drought and famine. His lips rubbing against each other like they wanted to merge into one.

His ecstatic feeling was contagious but I kept fighting not to be infected with it. He had offended me, he wouldn't be forgiven just by some mere expression.

I had grown beyond that. I turned away from him after realizing that I would soon be caught in his deceitful happy mood.
