I stifled my anger when Violet invited Irvin for dinner innocently. He glanced at me with a flicker of surprise in his eyes. “I am honored,” he replied with a genuine smile that lit up his face.

Damn it! Violet was so beautiful that she attracted Alphas like a beacon to insects. Not that I was one. I caught her hand and squeezed it, silently berating her for what she was up to, but she just smiled at me and my heart melted.

To prevent Irvin from being near her, I gave him a tour of my pack and brought him to my pack house where my office was located to keep him occupied. Under the guise of discussing our mutual trade, I made sure he stayed in my office. While I fought off my yawns and stretched, I ensured four of my office staff spoke to him about the trade. And the main reason for my disinterest was that I knew all about it like the back of my hand. Finally, when it was 10PM, I said, “Time for dinner! My wife is calling us.”
