Unsettled

After the news of my pregnancy spreading through out the whole company, lots of people I knew acted like they ruled the office changed and even the once I was friends with she came careful, there was even a tie I was having lunch alone and I heard them claiming of how careful

They had to talk to me because they think I would be the next owner of the company since my child was going to be this huge company, but I decided to keep quiet and act like I didn’t hear anything.

I concentrated more on my job and juts tried to act cool about all their gossips and words but the baby in me kept pulling me, I always felt weak even when I think I am very strong.

Richard also began to notice how weak I was becoming and pleaded with me to go to the hospital but I was still frightened about saying the truth.

“You should at least check up on yourself, I always knew pregnant women to be always careful and checking on their health to be sure there was no problem whatsoever but you just take painkillers and stay at how while you continue to hold in the pain.” Richard said to me one morning when I came to drop some files for him, I knew he was right but all I did was smile widely before walking away and just when I opened the door I suddenly lost balance and blanked out when I woke up again I almost had an heart attack after finding out I was in the hospital.

“Calm down Melissa, the doctor already ran a test on you and now we are waiting for the results.” Richard said beside me after noticing how panicked I was.

“What happened to me?” I asked him.

“You fainted outside my office so I became nervous and brought you to the hospital despite you not wanting to be here, I didn’t have a choice.” He said to me but I still felt anxious, I just hoped they weren’t able to find out in anyway that I was a werewolf.

“Did he find anything weird about me?” I said to Richard while trying to calm myself down a little bit.

“He said something was weird about your pregnancy and he needed to be sure that’s why he took a full body test on you.”

As I anxiously awaited the doctor's return with the test results, my mind raced with worry. What could possibly be "weird" about my pregnancy? I couldn't help but fear that they had somehow discovered my secret - that I was a werewolf. I tried to calm myself down, reminding myself that it was just a routine test, but the uncertainty still gnawed at me.

Finally, the doctor returned, holding a clipboard with a serious expression on his face. I looked at him expectantly, my heart pounding in my chest. Richard stood by my side, his hand gently holding mine for support.

"Melissa, I have the results of your tests," the doctor began, his voice calm and reassuring. "Firstly, I want to assure you that there is nothing with regards to your body nature that has come up in the tests. This is purely about your pregnancy."

I let out a sigh of relief, my tension easing slightly. I was grateful that my secret remained safe for now.

"However," the doctor continued, "there is something unusual that we discovered. Melissa, you are not just expecting one baby, but three. You're pregnant with triplets."

My eyes widened in disbelief. Triplets? I couldn't believe what I was hearing. A mix of emotions flooded through me - shock, excitement, and even a hint of anxiety. How would I handle three babies at once? How would this impact my job and the future of the company?

"Triplets?" I repeated, my voice barely above a whisper.

The doctor nodded. "Yes, Melissa. The triplets are putting a lot of strain on your body, which is why you have been feeling weak. They are taking a lot of nutrients from you, causing your energy levels to drop."

Richard squeezed my hand tighter, offering me silent support. I could see the concern in his eyes, and it mirrored my own. How would I manage this? But in that moment, a surge of determination washed over me. I would find a way. I would embrace this unexpected blessing and face the challenges head-on.

"Thank you, doctor," I finally managed to say, a mix of gratitude and determination in my voice.

“And he was a really good father to be.” The doctor added this time referring to Richard who smiled.

“I was just in a panic state because it reminded me of the first time I met her.” Richard replied the doctor a bit shyly, I felt like I was faced with another burdened and that was Richard who was still having to bear the burden of being called my unborn triplets father.

“Richard, you can just tell everyone the truth that you aren’t the father it won’t change a thing you know.” I said to him when the doctor walked out and he slowly turned his attention to me.

“Who said I was being burdened with it? I actually love being called a father because of how much I wanted to have a child.” He said with a sad smile.

“You can’t believe how happy I was when I was able to boldly call myself the father of your child and now the doctor also said the same.” Richard said making me feel like there was more to his bachelor life than I know.

“What do you mean, if you want a child so badly why don’t you just have one?” I asked him but he stared at me with the sad look.

“I am infertile as a man.” He said, this couldn’t possibly be happening to him? He had so much wealth but could never have a child of his own.
