Killian didn't lie when he said the girl before him was prettier than his daughters, but that wasn't why Grey accepted to take her. He was taking her because she was his mate, and that, no one knew, not even her.
Grey made Maya stand properly as he turned to Killian. "It is settled then," Killian said with a nervous smile. He was glad that he his conniving tricks had worked.
Grey turned sideways. "Ready the car, we're leaving," he said to the three gammas that came with him, and they immediately went to do his bidding. Maya could hardly believe her ears. She was going to leave the Oasis pack to the dark moon pack. Was that not like jumping from frying pan to fire?
She turned pleading eyes to Killian. "Please alpha, don't do this to me," she pleaded softly.
Killian ignored her and turned to Grey. "You can take her away," he said, and Maya's heart ached. Why was fate being cruel to her? What wrong has she committed to be a living soul? She wondered in confusion and hurt.
"You don't tell me what to do, old man," Grey said, his eyes narrowed at Killian, and he immediately apologized.
Grey held Maya's hand, and turned in the direction of the door. Maya took her hand away from his, as she felt the large hand, calloused with years of hard work touch hers. "I will not go with you," she said to him in a determined voice, and everyone gasped at her audacity.
Grey stared at her, as he narrowed his eyes. "Repeat what you said," he said.
Maya gritted her teeth, as she looked at him. "I'm not going anywhere with you even though I don't like this place," she said, and everyone gasped again. Was she seeking for death? No one speaks to the Alpha of the Dark Moon pack with such audacity.
"What's wrong with you, Maya? Can't you be quiet for once?" Riley said, in a tight fake smile. She attempted to come closer to Maya, but, Grey raised a finger, stopping her, without his eyes moving from Maya's face. He immediately got hold of her name.
He stared at her, a little twinkle of amusement flashed in his eyes, and just as it came, it was gone. "I don't need your opinion on this matter, neither do I need your approval before I take you. You're mine now," he said, and she flinched at the sound of it.
"I refuse to..." She began, but could not continue as she was swooped off her feet by Grey in a bridal style. She was too stunned to react, as she found herself holding on to his shirt.
"I do not have the time to banter words with a woman," he said, as he strode out of the pack house. All eyes on him, as he held Maya in his arms. The omegas were relieved that he was gone with her, but deep down, a jealousy sprang in their hearts, but, they all had a common belief, that she wouldn't last seven days in the Dark Moon's territory, and definitely not in the hands of Grey Stone.

Grey placed Maya in the car, already opened by one of his gammas. The door was closed, and he went over to the other side of the car, and the gamma quickly opened the door for him. He got in, and the door was closed.
He leaned into the seat, his eyes closed in thought. The woman sitting beside him felt familiar, but, he could not tell where he had seen her from.
Maya looked out the tinted window, as the car drove out of the territory. Just when she was thinking she would never escape from the Oasis pack, she has just being bundled out against her own will. She buried her face in her hands, as she sobbed silently, for fear of what cruel misery was waiting for her in the Dark Moon pack. She had no fair knowledge of what the man seated beside her was capable of, and she feared greatly for her life. She was mated to him, and yet she felt like he wasn't her mate. Every normal wolf would have voiced it out if they were mates, but he said nothing. This made her doubt if he was.
She lifted her face from her hands to stare at him, and she noticed every details of his face. With his eyes closed, she noted each symmetry lines, his full arched brows, his sharp pointed nose, and his chiseled jawline. His black hair in strands of slightly messy curls, giving him an arrogant roguish look. His lips were firm, with stubbles of moustache on his upper lips, a bit of beards from his jaw to his chin. Everything about him screamed forbidden and dangerous.
"You can stop looking now," Grey said with his eyes still closed. "I do not like glances being stolen at me without my permission," he said.
"Why did you take me? Why am I here? Why did you accept me, and not someone else?" She asked, all at once.
He kept quiet without giving her an answer.
"Answer me," she demanded, without an hint of fear despite her heart racing hard against her chest.
"If you don't stop wagging your tongue at me anyhow you please, you might end up putting it exactly where it belongs," he said, his icy blue eyes fully on her.
"It belongs in my mouth," she said.
"Yes, but it also belongs in a long piece of manly flesh," he said with a little tweak of his lips, and Maya's eyes widened in puzzlement.
"What are you talking about?" She asked, inquisitively.
"Don't act dumb with me," he said, and eyed her, before closing his eyes again. "Now, shut up," he said, in a deep drawl, that Maya had no choice but to sit still and utter not another word.
They got to the Dark Moon pack house, and Maya was awed by as she gazed at the magnificent building. Two gammas opened the door at each side of the car, and they both stepped out. Maya was rooted to the spot as soon as the car door was closed. Her fears came again as she realized she would be walking into another pack with hate and nothing but despise for her. She shuddered at the thought of it, as memories of her sufferings eluded her, as she began to shake visibly, accompanied with the fact that she had been starved for a day and half, she slumped, but before she could hit the ground, Grey was quick to hold her before everything blacked out before her.
Maya groggily opened her eyes, and her eyes were still dazed as she slowly looked around. She placed her hand on her head and let out an audible hiss. "Where am I?" She asked no one in particular, as her eyes began to adjust to the unfamiliar dimly lit room."My room." Grey's voice came from the opposite direction, and she turned sharply to him. Her twin pool brown velvet eyes dilated as horror washed all over her. She had thought everything about Grey taking her away was a nightmare, she had just woke up from.Grey's cold icy blue eyes met hers. His lips was pursed in a thin line, as he stared at her. "Why did you faint?" He asked her."Is there ever a reason why someone would faint?" She asked with a frown on her face, as she looked away from him, and when her eyes met his again, she wished the ground would just open and swallow her whole. The look on Grey's face at her sarcastic reply was not pleasant. If looks could kill, she could have been dead. She swallowed hard and looked dow
Maya's eyes fluttered, as the sun rays filtered through the window, and rested on her face. She stifled a yawn, as she stretched lazily. For the first time in years, she had a somewhat peaceful night rest. The bed had been so soft that she could barely keep her eyes open. Occasionally, she was bothered by the fact that she was in Grey's room, and he could walk in at any moment, and either drag her out, or force her to stay in the bed with him. That would be nice, her wolf, Alysia said in a cocky way.Shut up, you should be thinking of ways to escape this place, and not dirty thoughts, Maya said, scolding her.She looked at the other side of the bed, and realized that Grey had not showed up in the room since last night. She had just being worried without a reason. Did I inconvenience him? She thought aloud. She got up from the bed, and since she got into Grey's room, she was finally able to notice the details his room entails. She noticed his walls were a color of dark grey, and the lo
Grey stared at her unable to fathom why he had said that to her. He was tempted to run his fingers in her wet hair, but decided against it, as he walked towards the bed, and picked up the dress laid out for her. He walked up to her, and thrusted the dress into her hands. "Get dressed, and come down for breakfast," he said, and walked towards the door, and as he opened it, he added. "Ten minutes," he said, and walked out of the room without looking back.Maya let out the breath she had no idea she had been holding. She placed her hand on her chest, and could feel her heartbeat accelerating. How could one person make her fear so much? She wondered.Just then, the three omegas walked in again. "Luna, please let's proceed. We have to be quick. The alpha said ten minutes." Gwen said."O-okay," Maya said, too flustered to respond properly, as her mind flashed back to what just happened a minute ago."What do you want?" She asked."You," he said, with a look she had never seen before. What w
Grey raised an eyebrow as he stared from Eli to the rest of the elders. "Why?" He asked."She's an omega, alpha," Eli said.Grey tapped on his glass of wine on the table. "Your point exactly?" He asked."An omega cannot, and will never be our Luna," he said."I'm sorry, alpha, but, that's just how it has to be." John interjected.Grey raised a brow, his back still pressed in his seat. "Really?" He asked, and they nodded in agreement, including the omegas standing a few feets away.Grey folded his hands together, as his icy blue eyes were fixed on them. "Y'all know I do whatever I please," he said, and they nodded, having zero idea of where he was heading with his words. "But then, I decided to do this one thing y'all asked of me, as a sign of respect, and here you all are, telling me otherwise," he said, a blank expression on his face. Maya said nothing as she kept her eyes on her fingers, her ears wide open to understand all what was going on before her, and her heart thudding in her
Gwen noticed the change in Maya's demeanor, and she went closer to her. "Are you okay, Luna?" She asked worriedly.Maya gave a slight nod. "I'm just trying to... catch..." She began to say, feeling her eyes closing. "My breath," she said in a hush voice, before slipping down on the floor."Luna!" Gwen said, falling to her knees, as she shook Maya, trying to revive her. "Look what you've caused!" She said, shooting Cora a hard glare, and then looked at Maya with a panicked expression on her face. "Oh, my. I wonder what the alpha would do to us once he finds out we caused the Luna to faint," Gwen said, as she held Maya's hand, trying to pull her up. "Help me take her to the alpha's room," she added, but Cora scoffed, and walked away. One by one the other omegas did the same thing too.Gwen was trying her best to pick Maya up, but was failing. Soon, she got help when the salutary walked into the house in an accord to check up on Maya.He sighted Gwen struggling with Maya, and rushed to h
Maya stood by the window examining the distance between the window and the ground outside. Her eyes darted left and right to see if there was any warrior in sight, and indeed there was. Earlier this morning there was less of them, but as the blue sky had turned grey with twinkling stars, there was more than seven warriors in sight. There was no way she could successfully scale through the wall of the window without being seen. She groaned hard. Perhaps she should try running away very early tomorrow morning. She groaned hard again. "Another night in this place," she said in dismay, and heaved gravely. "It's just one night. It wouldn't be that bad." She said trying to reassure herself. She turned away from the window, and immediately her body stiffened by who she saw resting his lithe frame on the wall. Her breathing quickened, and her knees buckled, as her eyes met his."What do you mean by one night left?" He asked her with a blank expression on his face. She swallowed. She was quite
"Why?" Grey asked her, with a rare puzzled look on his face.Maya looked away from him as she shrugged. "How am I supposed to know?" She asked him. After all, the salutary had not come to see her. He had only come at the right time when she fainted."Did he check on you?" Grey asked her, as he recalled the salutary saying he was going to come check on Maya to know if she was alright, and to confirm whatever presumption he had of her.She looked at him, and hugged her arms to herself, shaking her head. "No," she said. She would not tell him about the bully she got from the omegas."Well then," he said, as he shrugged his shoulders a little. "Do you want to have dinner now?" He asked her.She stared at him wondering why he was bothered about her not eating. It felt as if he heard her as he eyed her from head to toe. "You look extremely thin," he said to her in sarcasm. She frowned at him. "I'm not thin. I'm lean, okay?" She said."Dinner?" He asked her, playing dumb to her words. She wa
"You know, tonight reminds me of the first time we met, right at the sphere of this waterfall," he whispered softly with a smile on his face, and his arm entwined with hers, as they walked towards the waterfall. She giggled and whispered into his ears "I had sent a flaming spear to kill you, remember?" He grinned. "But, you didn't. You were mesmerized by my eyes." "Maybe," she replied with a happy tone. They got to the sphere of the waterfall, and he held her hand, and brought it to his lips. She smiled at him."I'll never get tired of seeing your beautiful face, my love," he said to her."Even if I turn old, wrinkling and grey?" She asked him."You'll look even more beautiful in my eyes," he said as his lips lingered on her hand."Oh, Verne," she laughed, and as he let go of her hand, she wrapped her arms around him. "I love you, always, now and forever.""I love you more Alyssa. More than you can ever imagine," he said to her as he placed a kiss on her forehead."Emperor!" Someone
