Dom’s POV

The sound of Kit’s bedroom door opening and closing alerted me that Alpha Jace had finally left her room, and I moved to peek out of Kit’s father’s study to see him walking down the hallway towards the stairs. His facial expressions were unreadable, and I wondered how the rest of their conversation went, after I decided it was not my place to listen in on what they were discussing, even though I already knew that she wasn’t planning on going back to Mystic Shadow with him.

As if he could feel my eyes on him, his head turned in my direction, and our eyes met, and by the look in his eyes, I could tell even though he was trying to do his best to hide it, that he was hurting, knowing that he had just lost her. If anyone knew that look and that feeling it was me, because I had lost Kit twice in my life, and I wasn’t going to allow it to happen again.
