StormAfter the drama with Rose, I didn't even argue with Orion when he insisted I get some sleep. I wasn't hurt, but I knew that wouldn't stop him from worrying.I woke up smiling, feeling Orion's arms around me. Despite the families having breakfast together this morning, I refused. I pulled Orion away, and we sat alone in a different room, eating."I'm in trouble, right?" he asks while looking at me. I laugh slightly at his question."No, I need to know what you want to do going forward, Orion. Now, before you answer, consider what you want, not me," I explain, and he nods.Sitting, we eat, and he considers it."I'm fine, Orion. If you want to live with your family, I am fine going there with you." I've had my family close my entire life. He needs this time with his family, especially to learn about the Fae. Even for me, it would be helpful to be there, as there's so much I don't know about them."I would like to go when things are sorted," he explains, and I nod."Then I will let
StormI walk out, and my parents are sitting with William and everyone else. Something tells me this was planned. It is fine if it was; it just feels like this was planned and set up before now."You agreed?" My mum laughs, and I nod. "And Asher was having such a good run of winning," she laughs."I may lose. It's been a while," I remind her. She laughs with my dad and Darius. Okay, I never lost the races, but it's been too long since I shifted and ran daily; I could be far slower than I was before."What is this?" Orion looks at me. I see the others out here: Fae, Merfolk, Bears and Dragons. It was planned; as I look around, I see the cameras at the end spot. I have a feeling my parents did an interview about the others being here, and this was announced at the same time.Orion stands, waiting for me to explain what is happening."So, since we were young, we would race around the entire ground. The first one to get back to this spot wins. I always won," I laugh."She cheats," Elijah
OrionI only agreed to take part as I thought I would be with Storm. If I had known I wasn't, I wouldn't have taken part. I have no urge to try and win her in a race.I've shifted and am waiting for the second shot. When it comes, I follow the scent, as I do I collect the flags along the way. I can't concentrate, though; something feels off. So I gave up on the race and began to track Storm. As I run for where I can feel she is, I hear her howl and panic. My body runs faster, but pain floods through my leg, and I stagger. Pushing myself to run, I ignore the stabbing across my body.As I get to Storm, I see two wolves. My body rushes towards one that has its mouth against her throat. Knocking it out of the way, it barely even staggers.I shift into my Fae form as the wolf runs at me, my hand flies up, and I watch the fire hit the wolf. It howls and falls to the floor, trying to get rid of the fire.Turning, I see the other wolf biting her leg, flipping my hand forward, the fire hits it
StormIt has been a week since Grant showed up. Orion has barely left my side throughout the entire time. He's constantly checking that he can hear the baby's heartbeat. We leave today to go with the Fae. Now everything has settled down, it seems like the ideal time. Orion needs to learn more about who he is. So do I, as the baby will be part Fae as well.I've sent Orion to his family to plan things, and I'm currently on the hunt for Elijah. I decided to start with him first. We all said goodbye so that he wouldn't be expecting me now.Walking through the rooms closer to the pool where the merfolk are, I see him sitting by the pool. Seraphine is in it, and I know she's on a strict routine of staying in water for long periods because of how long she was left without the chance to swim."Sis?" Elijah glances at me. "Shouldn't you be leaving?"Nodding, I walk over. "I wanted to say a personal goodbye," I smile at him."You will be back in a month or two," he laughs slightly, and I nod."
OrionI've been waiting ages for Storm. She said she had one last thing to do, and I was to go with my family. We've been sitting in these cars waiting forever. The door to the car opens, and I watch her climb in. She sits opposite me and smiles. There's a weird sense around her. Pulling her to me, I settle my face in the crook of her neck."What's different?" I whisper and stroke my fingers along her back."We're in this car alone, right?" She looks at me, and I nod. Her smile widens, and I watch as she begins to remove her clothes."Storm," sighing, my head shakes."Just, shh," she laughs, and I watch her kneel ahead of me naked."I won't agree to touch you." My words have her laughing harder. Her eyes close, and I watch her shift. "Storm?" How did she do that? I peer down at her. She's Fae. Somehow, her red hair with blond streaks just makes her even more impressive.I shift and lift her onto my lap so that she faces me. Grasping her face in my hands, I kiss her before pulling her
StormDuring our quick break to the outsiders' city, I took Orion out and showed him around. I remembered that he had never gone shopping, sat in a cafe, or even been to a playground as a child.I spent those few hours trying to make him experience many different things he had never seen. He was amazed by the sheer volume of clothing in the shops.Even more so when we went to the grocery store, it was a lovely time, and I could see he was relaxed and calm. This is likely because he wouldn't have sensed any wolves, bears, or anything else. In this city, most people ignore that side, and slowly, it dies within them. It's sad, however, to consider how many humans here would have had such amazing wolves, and they just pushed them out until they died. Now, we're back in the car. Before I got in, Queen Nymeria gave Orion and me some clothes. Walking around on our Fae side is fine, and many do. Apparently, royalty doesn't. We certainly didn't have clothes that would fit us.I go from my shor
ElijahI wanted to reject this over and over. It would have been easy to refuse to see or speak to her. In my mind, we weren't mates and couldn't be mates.Once I heard that Aurelia was mates with Arktos, I knew something told me that we were mates, and I decided from that moment I wouldn't even try to look or find them. I was trying to avoid Princess Seraphine. That way, she wouldn't become my mate. I doubted it was Princess Zyra I had seen her when I healed her.In my mind, it was a great plan. Until Storm spoke. Then I felt like a piece of crap for hiding away. If Asher and Zyra are mates, it means Seraphine is mine, possibly. I'm hoping she isn't. I already have a mate, and things around here are already complicated.Pushing the door open, I instantly feel that pull. My eyes rise, and I see her sitting on the edge of the pool. She turns her head and looks at me. For a moment, I don't move; I stand and consider how much this is going to start a war.Eventually, I walk in and sit be
ElijahSitting, we talk, and I avoid the whole mate thing. Instead, I ask her about her family. She's spent a lot of time with them, so it gives her something else to focus on."Princess Seraphine, you may leave the water now," a guard that works for the Merfolk appears. I watch as she lifts her tail out of the water."I'll wait outside for you to get dressed," I smile and walk out. A moment later, she comes out of the room. She looks stunning. I smile at her."Have you eaten?" I ask as we walk forward, and she nods."I think we should speak. We need to figure out how this will work with your first mate," she stops and turns to face me as we reach the stairs."Well, if you have ideas, please say as I'm lost," I laugh, and she joins in."What sort of woman is your other mate?" She smiles at me and waits. I go to say she's a wonderful woman, but if there's one person who will be able to tell the truth, it's her.I sigh loudly, and she laughs. "The truth?" I ask, and she nods."You can t
