29. Looking for Caterina's Whereabouts

One punch landed directly on Alex's face when he was brought to see Leonardo. The corner of his lip instantly split and bled. He felt very painful on his face. Leonardo's power was great, so his punch had a big effect. Alex felt dizzy. He was dizzy; his vision seemed to be spinning.

The disappointment on Leonardo's face was immense. He was so disappointed that the man he trusted had betrayed him. He had never felt this disappointed before. He always forgives Alex's every mistake, but not this time. Alex had made a very big mistake. Letting Caterina escape was the same as letting her face the great danger out there. He was very worried now that Caterina was no longer under his protection.

“I'm very disappointed in you,” Leonardo said with indescribable feelings. His emotions were in turmoil right now.

“I'm sorry, sir.” That was all Alex could say. He knew he was wrong, so he wasn't going to defend himself. Admitting mistakes is a sign that he has a big heart.

Leonardo looked away; he didn't want to look at Alex for now. Every time he looked at the man's face, he wanted to beat him up.

“Take him into the cage. Keep him there until I give the order to release him. Treat him like any other prisoner.” Leonardo gave the order, then stepped past Alex unceremoniously. He clenched his hands into fists with great force. The angry look on his face was very clear.

Leonardo walked to his car that was parked in the yard. He got in and asked two of his men to join him in the car. This time he didn't want to drive, so he let his men take the wheel. As the Maybach drove out of the mansion, other cars followed.

Dozens of cars scattered in search of Caterina's whereabouts.

“If she had her cell phone with her, we could track her whereabouts through her cell phone email.” Ben commented.

“You should have put a tracker on the car she used to escape.” His friend responded.

Leonardo was restlessly silent, his hand resting on his chin with his elbow resting on the windshield. He stared out there, scanning every street of the city.

The car drove without a definite destination.

Some of Leonardo's men were checking all the CCTVs that might have captured Caterina's whereabouts. Tracking CCTV wasn't that easy, but it wasn't difficult for them either. They could easily get CCTV footage along the streets because no one dared to refuse La Vendetta's requests and orders. The whole city is already in Leonardo's grasp.

“Sir, do we need to distribute Caterina's missing poster?”

Leonardo turned to look at his men after hearing the question.

“That's right, sir. If we spread the posters, perhaps she'll be easier to find. The whole town will help to search for her.” Ben supported his friend's suggestion.

“Not just the whole town, but the whole country. If necessary, we should also put his poster on the internet.” The man said again.

Leonardo sighed heavily. If they searched like now, it would probably take them six months to find Caterina. Just like the previous incident. Or a few days if they had a clue like Marco did when he kidnapped Caterina. Maybe his men's advice was right too. Their search would be shorter if the whole town helped to find Caterina. Especially if he gave a reward to the person who gave information about Caterina's whereabouts. People will compete to find information.

However, doing so was tantamount to setting a trap for Caterina. If her enemies knew about Caterina's escape, it would make her even more dangerous.

“Distributing posters about her will only give the enemy important information. As much as possible, no one other than La Vendetta members should know about this. Dante is our asset; if he is caught by the enemy, there will be many secrets gained by the enemy.” Leonardo emphasized. His men could only nod in agreement.

The car continued to drive through the highway that was full of vehicles. If Caterina had escaped since yesterday, it was certain that they were no longer in Mexico City. They must have been outside the city, or maybe they had fled to another country.

Leonardo reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. He called one of his men.

“Check all airports; see if Kate and her father have traveled abroad.” Leonardo gave the order after the call was received by his men.

“Yes, sir.” The man on the other side of the phone answered steadily.

Leonardo immediately disconnected the call.

“Sir, it looks like it's Alex's car that Kate took away!” Ben drove the car towards a restaurant. The car stopped when they reached the parking lot.

That's right, it's the car that Caterina brought. But, why would her car be parked in such a close place? They had only left the base for tens of kilometers. Leonardo felt confused. He quickly got out of the car and stepped towards Alex's car.

Upon inspection from the outside, there was nothing inside. Leonardo tried to open the car door, but it was locked. He checked carefully, circling the car to make sure. There was no damage or signs of an attack.

Isn't this confusing?

Leonardo's forehead seemed to crease as he was thinking like that.

“Sir, I asked the restaurant attendant; he said the car has been parked here since last night. He's not sure who it belongs to, since he wasn't on duty last night. I asked him to ask his friend who worked the shift last night, but he doesn't have his friend's number.” Ben gave a report.

“Find out where his friend lives; we're going there now.”

“Yes, sir.” Ben stepped back into the restaurant to find the information Leonardo wanted.
