32. Marco's Plan

“Where did you hide Kate?” Leonardo gripped Marco's jaw very firmly. His face was flushed, his eyes glaring fiercely. His jaw was hardened, his teeth chattering.

After they arrived at Marco's headquarters, Leonardo immediately made a scene. He was able to easily get past the guards until he found Marco in the living room preparing his weapons to counter Leonardo's attack. The man looked confused when Leonardo approached him with a murderous expression. He didn't expect Leonardo to come to him, so he didn't prepare anything.

“Where's Kate?!” Leonardo raised his tone. If he wanted to, he could have easily broken Marco's jaw.

“Wh-what are you talking about? I don't know anything. Didn't you pick her up here last week?” Marco tried hard to mask his fear; he didn't want to look weak in front of his men. Really, he had never felt this scared before. He had faced Leonardo dozens of times, but this time his guts were made to shrink. Leonardo was truly terrifying.

“Don't mess with me, I know you've kidnapped Kate and her father.” Leonardo was getting more and more insistent. The veins on his neck were clearly imprinted. His forehead twitched as a sign that he was really angry.

“I really don't know. You killing me won't do you any good. I don't know anything about Kate.” Marco said with a convincing tone and facial expression. “If you don't believe me, just search all the rooms here.”

Leonardo sighed harshly. He released his grip on Marco's jaw. With a snap of his fingers, he asked his two men to go through all the rooms with him. He did not miss a single room, because he was very sure that the culprit was Marco. The enemy was not just Marco, but a very suspicious Marco.

After searching all the rooms, it was true that neither Caterina nor her father were there. Leonardo is getting more and more annoyed. If not Marco, then who?

“Look, she's not here.” Marco could rest easy now, as the murderous glare he had been getting had now changed.

“I'll never forgive you if I hear you did something to her.” Leonardo gave a warning.

“I wouldn't dare do anything.” Marco raised both hands.

“That bitch is always causing trouble; she should just die.” Rossie said angrily because Leonardo was making a mess in her place. She really hated Caterina, so anything related to that woman always made her feel upset.

Leonardo turned to look at Rossie with a glare. He didn't like it when someone said bad things about Caterina.

Marco elbowed his brother in the waist. He was afraid that Rossie's words would make Leonardo even angrier at them. “Watch what you say. He's not our opponent.” The man said in a half-whisper.

“Why are you afraid of him? Aren't you always so arrogant to others? He came here with only three of them; you could have finished him off if you wanted to.” Rossie said with annoyance. She rolled her eyes as she felt extremely disgusted. Because everyone always favored Caterina more than her. Gabriel, Leonardo, even her own brother. She didn't know why Caterina was so attractive to men.

“You shut up.” Marco immediately said firmly. At first he also thought that he could beat Leonardo at his base. It turned out that he was wrong. Leonardo was much stronger than he imagined. Let alone defeating him, he still couldn't even touch him.

The only way to defeat Leonardo is to break his heart. Heartbreak makes one weak. So, he has devised a new plan. Now that Caterina was still in his grasp, it was a good thing he hadn't brought her to his headquarters. If Leonardo had found Caterina there, he doesn't know what would have happened to her.

“I am truly sorry for what happened between us in the past. I no longer want to be your enemy; I promise that I will not make trouble with you again. I realize that I can't beat you, so we should just make peace. I will help you to find Kate.” Marco began to put on a friendly face. If he couldn't beat Marco the hard way, then he would use the soft way.

It was hard for Leonardo to believe. Forever enemies can never be allies. There will always be a point where they will betray and become enemies again. He didn't want to take any chances.

“Marco, do you realize what you're saying? You want to be friends with this bastard? Did you forget he almost killed Gabriel?” Rossie didn't accept it. She would always consider Caterina and Leonardo as her enemies. She didn't care who they were. For sure, they almost made Gabriel die. To Rossie, Gabriel was more important than the world and all of it.

“Damn it, you shut up!” Marco snapped at his sister. “You'd better go to your room now. Don't make things worse.” He looked at his sister with annoyance.

“You're yelling at me?” Rossie stared in disbelief. Her eyes were glazed over. Marco had always been gentle with her. He would even get angry when someone yelled at his sister. To him, Rossie was the single most precious treasure in the world. He never allowed the world to hurt his sister. However, since Caterina's presence, the man had completely changed. There had been several times when Marco yelled at her over issues related to Caterina.

“Do you like that bitch?! You know I really hate her, right? Why are you always defending her? I hate you!” Rossie said with a painful feeling. The tears that she had been holding back finally spilled out. She ran to her room with tears breaking out. She really felt hurt by Marco's treatment of her. “Just wait, Kate. I'll kill you with my hands.” Rossie said with her hands clenched tightly.

Leonardo just watched the drama between brother and sister in silence. He felt that it would be a waste of time if they lingered there. If Caterina was not in Marco's place, it meant that there was another danger waiting for Caterina.

“Let's go.” Leonardo stepped away with his two men trailing behind.
