The weeks passed quickly as David and Isabella settled into their new life in the villa. The walls that had once echoed with emptiness now hummed with warmth and laughter. Every morning brought new challenges, and every night ended with conversations that deepened their bond. Isabella was beginning to feel a sense of belonging, a flicker of hope that perhaps she could fully embrace this new chapter.

While unpacking the last few boxes in the living room, Isabella heard a knock at the door. David was in the kitchen, preparing lunch, so she decided to answer it herself. As she opened the door, her heart dropped. Standing on the porch was Andrew, her ex, looking disheveled and desperate.

“Isabella,” he said, his voice trembling. “Can we talk?”

The shock made her freeze, her mind racing. “What are you doing here, Andrew? You shouldn’t be here.”

“Please, just hear me out,” he pleaded, his eyes filled with a mixture of regret and urgency. “I know I messed up. I know I
