Author's POV

Andrew leaned back in the driver’s seat of his car, parked just a block away from Isabella’s new villa. His fingers tapped impatiently on the steering wheel, a smirk playing on his lips. The scene that had unfolded just minutes ago still replayed in his mind—the way Isabella had stood there, trying to appear strong, trying to push him away. But Andrew knew her. He knew she wasn’t over him, no matter how hard she tried to act like she had moved on.

“David,” he muttered, his voice laced with anger. The name tasted bitter on his tongue. This guy, David, thought he could swoop in and take what Andrew had spent so long cultivating. Andrew had put in the time, charming Isabella, making her feel special. Sure, at first, it had been about her wealth, the comfortable lifestyle she could provide. She had money and old family money, and Andrew had never been one to shy away from taking what he wanted.

He remembered the early days with Isabella, how easy it had been to win her over.
