2025-04-22 00:12:36Lila took a deep breath as she put her hand on the handle. She knew that there would be tonnes of chaos going on behind closed doors. She wondered if she would alone have to bear the shame of Levi not showing up. She opened the door and to her amazement, a swarm of people rushed at her. They were taking pictures of her as she tried to walk into the room.
She felt a hand on her wrist trying to pull out of the crowd of people that swarmed her and finally, she was out and able to catch her breath. "Hi," the peppy girl said, her green eyes twinkling at her. "I am in charge of you for today; if you come this way you can get your make-up and hair done," she added as she pointed in the direction of the studio door.
"Oh," she wanted to ask the girl some questions but decided against it. She kept quiet and followed the girl; wouldn't it be weird to ask this random girl about her husband's whereabouts? As soon as she entered the studio, her eyes landed on Levi, who stood out from everyone there.
She raised one leg, ready to approach him, when the girl she had followed there held her hand and dragged her away. Soon she was seated in a chair with tonnes of people touching her face and hair at the same time. She had only seen her mom get glammed like this before. There seemed to be too much happening at a time when she couldn't keep up.
As she tried to keep her eyes on the mirror while they helped her look good, her eyes could not help but travel behind her to Levi who was sitting still while his hair was being done She wanted to march up to him and ask where he had gone to all night. She was only concerned about him so why did he disapprove of her like that?
She was even more worried than she was angry at him; was he fine? Where had he been all morning? Was he able to overcome the night terrors? How often did it happen? Was he used to it? Was it because he happened to be in a strange place? She wanted to ask but not only could she not ask him all of that, but they were not close enough to have that conversation.
She did not keep up with the time but after a while, Marie De Lacruz came up to her. "Hola," she said, waving cutely, her hand to the side of her head. "You are just as beautiful and immaculate as Eleanor described," she said with a smile at her.
"Thank you," Lila said, bowing her head a bit with a smile back at her.
"And your husband? Dead drop sexy," she squealed with dreamy eyes. "I now understand why two families who fight can be together."
"Huh?!" Lila was confused at her statement as the wheels in her brain tried to work to decipher what she had said.
"With a man as sexy as him, I wouldn't mind being married to my enemy," she added with a squeal. She laughed like a high schooler as she turned to all of the people around her who laughed with her. "I understand," she said and then held Lila's hand. "Go get changed and we will get started." She walked away immediately and went to Lei. Lila got led away by the girl from earlier but she still could not keep her eyes off Levi as they dragged her away.
"Okay," Marie said, clapping her hand in the air. "Let us begin," she said, taking the camera from her assistant and taking a couple of shots. Marie kept asking them to take intimate shots, such as looking at each other in the eyes and holding each other by the waist and chest.
"You both make a really good couple," Marie smiled as she complimented them both.
"Thank you," Lila said with a smile at her.
"We are all done here," she said as they packed up all of the things on their things.
Lila and Levi left the room; it was already suspicious that they did not come in together; it would raise more eyebrows if they had to leave separately. "I did not expect to see you here," she murmured as they walked back to the resort.
"My assistant called to tell me about the photoshoot," he said simply.
"Oh, I wondered where you were all morning," she continued trying to ask him without being too obvious.
"I came for the photo shoot and that is all that matters," he said, walking faster. She stood rooted in a spot as she watched him walk away. She cautioned herself for being too invested in his business before brushing it off and walking away.
