Although Levi had told her to rest up, she could not bring her mind to do that; she needed to know what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. She also wanted to know how her father was, but she knew that calling him or her mother was pointless as Eleanor would refuse to tell her anything.

She knew that her sisters were the only way to go and since Elizabeth was more mature, she was the one she decided to call first. Elizabeth did not pick up so she tried to call Victoria and it was the same case. She concluded that they were probably in the hospital and they did not want to pick it up in front of their parents.

She kept on thinking of how she had ruined her father’s dream of getting Skyline just because she wanted to feel comfortable. Her father’s words rang in her mind as she paced in front of the bed. ‘You can sacrifice a little comfort for great gain,’ he always said to her, and she could see that it was true.

She should have never been considered enough to turn down the advances from that stranger that night. She should have thought of her father’s health and dreams before she tried to do whatever it was she did. Her mother must be deeply troubled since her father was in such a state. She did not know what she was supposed to do.

She continued trying her sister’s line and then finally Victoria picked up. "Lila,” she said and Lila could hear all of the judgment in her sister’s tone. Everyone was probably at home, blaming her for putting her father in such a serious condition with her actions.

“Before you join all of the crowd to judge and crucify me, don't you think you need to hear my side of the story first?” Lila asked and proceeded to explain to her sister the details of what had happened that night. Levi had not shown up, and out of frustration, she had a simple dance with that man. She could barely even remember what he looked like.

“If Levi had not shown up, you should have gone back to your room or been more careful,” Victoria said. Lila let out a sigh.

“I know, i know but it all happened in a moment that I did not really have the time to think everything I was doing over and before you know my name was plastered across the news and i was labelled a cheating partner,” Lila said She regretted what she did, and she wished that her sister had been kind enough to encourage her instead of pointing fingers at her.

"Lila, I understand how it is with you and Levi; you are mortal enemies, but you had one chance to make this work and you blew it off.” Victoria sounded disappointed.

"Oh, come on, Toria, not you too; what do you want from me? Do I have to live my life according to all of your dealings before you let me be?” she asked. She had been beating herself up all morning, and yet it looked like not one of her family was on her side. Everything that had gone wrong was all her fault; they made sure it was clear to her.

“You found love in your marriage, but did you for once think that it would never be possible for me? I will be stuck in this marriage for a full year, and then after that, I will become a young divorcee and will never get the chance to experience what love feels like. Did you stop for a moment to think about how my life is turning out to be?” she asked.

Victoria couldn't respond, and Lila heard a shuffle from behind, so she turned to him and saw a weird expression on Levi’s face. She did not know when he had gotten back in but that was not an issue; they had better things to worry about than that. “Toria, I will talk to you later,” she said, cutting off the call before her sister could respond to what she had said earlier.

“You are back,” she said when she took the phone out of her ears. “How did it go?” she asked, moving closer to him.

Levi seemed different; he was barely gone for long and it seemed like something had changed for him; his face was sad and disappointed. She could not tell if it was directed at her and quite frankly, she did not care about all of that.

“Your mom has given us an extra week, and then after that we need to return home. Once we are home, we will sit down and decide what is supposed to be done,” he explained. His tone was distracted and sad at the same time. She nodded and almost hugged him in gratitude. She opened her mouth to thank him but he turned after talking and walked out of the room without looking back.

“What is wrong with him?”

As Lila showed Levi around the house, she could not help but get this chilly feeling from him. She wanted to ask him questions, but she was not sure what kind would be appropriate for him, so she kept them all to herself. After they had identified the room they would have to stay in, she turned to him."Are you sure this would be okay? We can tell my mom that this won't work and go back to the house, where we would have separate rooms.""It's fine," he said as if they were in an argument."I might be wrong, but I get a feeling that you are mad at me. Did I do something wrong?" She asked, trying to cast her mind back to when she started feeling the coldness from him, but nothing stood out to her."Nothing," he said like a child who was sulking about being denied some candy. Suddenly, it clicked in her mind that he was probably missing Fiona after all; they had to leave so quickly that they had no chance to say goodbyes. Knowing that was why he was all moody was hurtful to her, but she

PLACE: CARRINGTON'S MANSIONTIME: SUNDAY 6:45 PM"Everyone, listen up," William said from the head of the table, tapping the edge slightly to catch the attention of everyone. Williams was a family man, and for that reason, he had the entire family back at his mansion every Sunday for dinner to get away. That way, they could discuss and gloss over the events of the week and give each other updates. After dinner every night, the men got together and watched a sport regardless of what was airing at that time. They all seemed to enjoy the time together. The older women would go out to the balcony and have tea while talking; they called it talking, but everyone knew very well that it was gossip. The younger girls would cluster in Lila's room and try to really catch up on what had been going on. Everyone raises their head to William at the head of the table. He dropped his spoon to his plate and propped his elbow on the table so he could intertwine his fingers. Seeing his posture, everyon

LOCATION: BEAUMONT MANSION TIME: SUNDAY 8 PM"You are asking me Levi Beaumont to get married to Lila Carrington?" Levi asked for the tenth time in just a few minutes. He was standing in his dad's home office. Daniel was sitting behind a huge wooden table, and Levi was standing across from it. He had been called in by his father to give him some news. When his father asked him to come into the office after dinner, he expected anything else, but this was not on his bingo cards, and he was sure that he must have heard it all wrong. There was no way his father, Daniel Beaumont, who was the chairman of the Beaumont group, was asking him to marry a Carrington. "Dad, Beaumont's and Carrington's do not mix; they have nerve mixed for one day," Levi said before his father could say anything. Daniel took off his glasses and let them hang from his neck with the glasses rope, dangling it gently in the air. "They have never mixed for six generations." "Exactly, so I am confused as to what you

As soon as Lila walked into the room, Levi could tell that she was not the same woman he had left behind. Something must have happened. She looked sad and angry at the same time. She did not acknowledge his presence; instead, she moved to one of the couches and sat silently. Levi wanted to ask her what was troubling her, but he was not sure if she would appreciate the efforts or even tell him what was wrong. He waited a few minutes for her to come forward by herself to tell him what was wrong but nothing happened, leaving of her to speak She sat still, looking ahead. "Lila?" he called because the silence was killing him. They had just resolved their differences and agreed to be friends, and that meant they could rely on each other. She slowly turned to him with her eyes sad and wet. He moved closer to her and bent so they were on the same level. "Are you okay?" he asked. A woman came to address all of the couples who had shown up. After speaking at length, she asked them all to come back the next day, as that was when the competition was going to begin. After that, she disappeared, and the room began to clear out. Weaving through the crowd, both of them found their way out of the place."I can not believe that I am doing something like this," Levi said as they walked to the elevator."We already wrote down our name and attended the first meeting. I don't think there is any need to not believe it anymore," Lila responded. She also could not believe that she had willingly tried to put herself in the eye of the public but all she could think of was the prize attached to this. Her phone began ringing in her hand, and somehow she feared it was her mom. She looked at the screen and felt a burning, bitter sensation rise up her stomach as she stared at it. It was her mom, and she never once had a good conversation with her mom over the phone. It was always so
