Chapter 4

THE LETTER. 

WAKE UP! WAKE UP MALINA!! 

An unfamiliar voice called to me making me open my eyes and finding myself in dirt. 

At this point I remembered everything that has happened in the last twenty-four hours and all I could feel was anger and hatred towards Kane and his mate plus a great deal of determination and resilience to get everything I've lost but for now I need to find my way out of this forest and find my best-friend. 

Standing up, I didn't feel any physical pain or weakness in me, it was as if I was reborn under the night storm, I didn't understand a thing going on with my body, the scar on my back from the silver whip suddenly is gone and I felt strange inside and Ashley hasn't said anything since I gained consciousness. Well I could feel her there so I didn't care much. 

Getting to the park ground In my torn clothes, I mind linked Sophia to come get me. 

"How the hell are you still alive Malina" Sophia asked me looking surprised. 

"Is that your way of saying you are happy to see me or you are surprised Im still alive" I questioned Sophia with a suspicious look. 

"Don't be like that Malina, the guards informed us you died before they dumped your body in the forest" she replied. 

"Sophia, what do you mean I died, I'm an alpha, you think something like whips laced with silver can end me" I bragged. 

I knew something happened while I was in the forest that even I can't explain and my wolf has refused to say anything. I really wish I can tell Sophia how I really feel and what's going on with my body but I don't understand it myself. 

"Hey Malina, are you  okay" Sophia called. 

"I'm fine, go tell liam to prepare my  luggage, I need to leave before something unexpected will happen"  I ordered. 

Walking the other way while Sophia went and prepared my luggage, I encountered Kane and I developed an unbelievable amount of rage. 

"Malina, you are still alive and why do you look so different?" He asked with a gloomy look on his face while about to touch my face.   

"Don't you dare touch me with your filthy hands, as you can see, I'm not dead". I growled at Kane and Ashley almost  forced her way to tear him apart. 

Thank the moon goddess, Ashley finally reacted to something. 

"You might be the alpha, but let me remind you that the reason you own that alpha position is because of my father who thought having a female leader will jeopardize the pack and attract oppresors" I said looking straight in his eyes. 

While talking to kane, we were already surrounded by the other pack members including Liam and Sophia who was with my luggage's and I used the crowd to my advantage. 

"I, Malina McCall, congratulate Alpha kane on finding his fated mate, I wish them both a long time of happiness and prosperity. According to my father's wish, you became the alpha after our marriage but remember that if you lead this pack down the wrong path, I will come back and claim it. Even though we got married, I forbid you from all husband duties you might have felt obliged to" I said walking towards Kane and tapping his shoulder, who stiffened up. 

"This is for everything you've done to me, the betrayal and the pain you caused, I embrace it all as i leave this pack" I said through the mind link as I walked away and signalling to liam to bring my luggage along. 

"Malina, what is the meaning of this? And Liam why are you moving that luggage with her"? Kane questioned. 

"Malina you dare not do this to me. Asking me to prepare you your luggage, I thought you we're traveling for a vacation after what happened but leaving the pack, I didn't plan for this Malina, don't you love me anymore" Sophia lamented. 

"Sophia Hale, listen to me, I'm not going forever, though I say I can claim the packs leader title back, its not that easy. If I were to challenge him here and now a lot of blood will be spilled and I don't want innocent blood on my hands, you  are pregnant right, I promise to be the one to name him and you know I've never broken a promise before". I said and Sophia finally calmed down. 

Calling onto Liam through the mind link, he brought my luggage and followed me to the border, on the way I couldn't stop thinking on whg Ashley reacted like that, I get she's angry but she felt and acted so different from before and she still hasn't said anything. 

"Luna Malina, we are here". Liam's voice brought me back. 

"Thank you Liam, you can go back now and take care of Sophia, she needs you more than ever now" I did to him. 

"I don't know if this is the right situation but your father asked me to give you  this letter, its the last thing he gave to me after been attacked by the rogues" Liam said. 

"Seriously Liam, you had a letter from my father and you are just giving it to me" I growled. 

"Well Luna, your father instructed that I give you this letter if things didn't go well for your marriage and I was forbidden from reading it" he said cowering in fear of my wolf. 

"Well thank you for keeping this safe, who would have thought things who'd end up like this" I said while opening the letter. 

 "Dear Malina

    I know I always called you daughter but today I 

     will call you malina. A day might come when you will hate me for the decision of making kane alpha but you my dear have a lot of responsibility to deal with even kane would not be able to handle. 

    The death of your mother caused by the rogues isnt because of the rogues seek territory or riches but it was orchestrated by a master mind who seeks to end the reign of the wolves. You my dear have to go out and seek for this master mind, I wish I could offer more clue but this is all I could find. 

To my favorite person, 

From your dad. 

I read the letter again and again yo find any hidden clue to figure out this evil master mind but it seems this is all he could get, I looked at liam who was staring at me curiously, waiting to hear what I have to say. 

"Judging from your look, you want to know what this letter contains right" I asked even when I knew the answer to the question. 

"Yes Luna" he replied. 

"Well it says both my parent didn't die from a cheap rogue attack but it was planned and that the person is coming for the pack soon" this I said through a mind link, and he widened his eyes looking at me. 

"So what are you going to do now" he asked curiously. 

"What do you expect, Retribution is in order, I will go out there and find clues and get back what was originally mine" I told him with an assuring smile. 

"Now go back and make sure to take Care of sophia, I promised I will be back to name your child, stay loyal to the pack more than you stay loyal to kane" I said  and he nodded. 

Once across the border and Liam was out of sight, I fell to my knees, crying and feeling the pain of been lonely. 

"Who's going to be with me" I shouted out loud face the moon. 

'Shhh, Malina, if anyone and everyone leaves you alone, I Ashley, Rightful Luna of the cresent wolf pack would never leave you' Ashley said, promising me something for yhe first time and a bolt of lighting striked making the beginning of our new journey.
