DAMIEN POVI was in a meeting in my office when the door opened forcefully and Kamaria badges in with fire in her eyes and my secretary hot on her heels. KAMARIA POV We called it a night at eleven pm, deciding to go home before we get absolutely drunk. We are no longer as young as we used to be. DAMIEN POVI turned around to hit the alarm clock shutting it up. It is five am time to get up. I am supposed to be at the courthouse by eight. The custody case is by nine. Max asked to come in early just to show the judge that I am responsible. Lily groaned in protest at being woken up by the alarm. Yesterday she came in late from partying with her friends and work colleagues. “I am sorry baby,” I turned around to peck her forehead before getting out of bed. She mumbled something unintelligent and went back to sleep. I went to the closet and threw on my work out clothes and then made my way downstairs to the training room. Not a full gym workout set, but I have got lifts and treadmill. Few stretches, twenty minutes run, and forty five minutes weights and I was done with my morning exercise. KAMARIA POV “Mum, am I going to court with you?”“No, baby, you are going to school,” I answered distracted. My attention was more on the eggs I was frying than on the conversation I was having with my daughter. DAMIEN POVThe door to the court room opened and Kamaria with her entourage walked in. Leading the group is a young guy that looked like he borrowed his suit and a stern face that looks murderous. KAMARIA POV I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me that Damien will fish out people from my past to use against me. Ten years ago he might not have known where to look, but now he does. With means and money behind him getting people to do his bidding wouldn’t be hard. Their witness testimonies are all true except for the way they portrayed it. I know what Damien and his lawyers are trying to do. They want to paint me like I am an unfit mother and from the look on the judge’s face and the murmurs going on around me, I believe they are succeeding. Eden did a good job countering Caroline testimony, but Simone I don’t know how he will manage that because her testimony is true.
