Chapter Sixty five: She is smart

DAMIEN POV

I waited patiently for her to answer my question, while keeping my eyes on her face. The little girl intrigues me, not just because she is my daughter, which is a huge part, but because of the way her mind works. She is brilliant, and has proven in the little time we have spent together.

“I don’t want to make her sad,” she whispered.

Her response threw me for a loop.

“What do you mean?”

Again she hesitated. I wondered if she worries that she is betraying her mother’s secret by speaking to me about her.

I wouldn’t push her, the reason for this outing was for me to get to know her and she me, for that I will be very patient.

“She cries every time, mostly when she looks at me.”

I wasn’t expecting that. Why would Kamaria cry when she looks at our daughter. And then it hit me. our resemblance. So it is not me alone that sees it.

“She thinks I don’t know, but I know,”
