GAIA

“So you said you had a meeting again today?”

I nodded, stuffing pancakes into my mouth. I'd left the house very early this morning so I could drive over to the neighboring town to meet with some potential clients.

Despite my new job at Quieten and Co, I was still a free lawyer, meaning that I'd told Mr Quinten that I was still going to handle other cases.

He was fine with it or even if he wasn't, it didn't bother me.

“Yes, and I have to be at the office by midday.”

I glanced at my phone as the screen lit up. There was an hour left until then.

“But taking a job offer with his brother? Don't you think that's too risky?”

“I told you he's his stepbrother. It's not like they like each other anyways."

Bella sighed and sat in front of me.

“I don't care if it's the devil. They have ties with each other. You may just be the fool in this whole thing."
