CHAPTER 12

GIAI

I marched into his office at noon the next day, not even looking at his secretary, whose smile I'm sure would have pissed me off.

He was on his phone and before he could say a word, I threw the recorder on his table.

“Never make me do something like that again.”

I plopped down on the cashier because I was so tired. I had barely gotten any sleep; I was highly irritated because he kept groping me, and my head ached from the loud music.

“You seemed to do a good job. I'm proud of you.”

Now, he was the one making me uncomfortable.

The recorder came on and I heard a static first before it started playing.

I first heard my voice.

“What can you tell me about the Javon Quinten court case?”

He was so out of it that I didn't even know when I slapped him. I flinched when I heard it on the speaker.

“Why did you slap him?”

I shrugged.

“He was pissing me off.”

The fact that he ended up throwing up towards the end of the recording made me cringe.
