After venturing into the remote countryside, my phone completely lost service. Thus, I decided to put everything aside and embrace the freedom to enjoy myself.

It wasn't until I found a spot with signal that I was bombarded with nearly a hundred messages and missed calls, all from my son.

Tobias wrote, "Mom, please come home once you've had your fill of fun. We really need you here!"

Tobias: "Regina is throwing a fit about wanting a divorce, and I can't handle all the mess at home. Poppy needs someone to drop her off and pick her up from school. When are you coming back?"

Tobias: "No one is cleaning up at home, and the trash is starting to attract flies! Are you ever coming home?"

Tobias: "If you don't come back soon, I'm done being your son!"

Noticing the escalating anger in his messages, I couldn't help but smile coldly before I texted back, "Who are you?"

After sending that message, I promptly blocked him.
