CHAPTER SIX
LESLEY
I slowly opened my eyes a few seconds after the spark, looking around wondering what kind of spark was powerful enough to throw me that far away, and then who was this girl?
I stood up from the ground and dusted my body, while feeling embarrassed at myself that I let myself be thrown that hard. I was supposed to be one of the most powerful and most feared alpha around. But then I tried to console myself with the fact that it came unexpectedly.
Just as I was about going my way, I thought a little about the strange she wolf, I thought it would be unfair leaving her there alone, and most importantly, I was curious. I needed to know more about her, and why the spark.
I remembered her telling me she was homeless, then I considered the possibilities of inviting her to my pack.
She was unconscious when I walked up to where she was lying, I found it a bit strange. Especially since I was about accusing her for what happened.
"Hey!" I whispered hovering over her, but her eyes stayed tightly shut.
She woke up when I tapped her gently on the arm. The confusion was very visible on her face as she looked around.
"What do you think about going with me to my pack?" She shrugged for a bit.
"I am very sure you do not want to be a target of rogues in this forest." I added intentionally to make the environment more tense.
"And how are you sure I am not a rogue myself?" She questioned suddenly standing up.
It was not hard to notice that she was a strong she wolf, the thought of that made me want her in my pack even more.
"Because you do not look like one." I said smiling.
I made sure to avoid talking about the spark with her all through the conversation even though I was a bit serious about what she had in mind concerning the spark.
After much persuasion, she eventually agreed to follow me to the pack.
As we walked back to the pack, I kept asking her questions about her background and why she ended up in the forest.
"Well there was a little misunderstanding at my pack, and I was thrown out."
"Just like that?" I demanded.
She nodded and looked away. She seemed to be cautious while sharing the informations I demanded for.
I wanted to trust her, but I had reasons to believe that she was shady, but I was determined to unravel the mystery surrounding her.
By the time we arrived at the pack house, it was already past midnight but there were still a few werewolves awake, especially the guards who were placed on the borders. They ran to me the moment they saw me.
"Alpha Lesley." They chorused and bowed to me. "We captured some rogues wandering around the pack's borders."
"Where are they now?" I questioned.
"They have been sent to the dungeon. And from the look of things, they are spies from one of our enemies."
"Good job." I said. "They should remain in the dungeon, I will go to them by dawn and make them confess who sent them."
They bowed to me once again while viciously eyeing the she wolf with me.i believed I didn't need to explain anything to them.
"You can go back to your duty post now." I commanded.
I took the hand of the she wolf with me and led her to the guest room, I could see the bewildered look on her face as we walked towards the guest room.
"You are alpha Lesley? Like the alpha Lesley?" She enquired with wide eyes.
"Do you know me? And why do you look shocked?"
"I've heard so much about alpha Lesley, why did you not tell me initially?"
"Because you never asked." I smirked.
I could see that it was difficult for her to process that I was actually the alpha Lesley who is most feared by everyone.
And I also liked the fact that the discovery helped to shapen her mouth a little and made her more cautious around me.
"You must be really tired from all of the walking, rest!" I declared and was about walking out of the room, then I stopped at the door. "Or if you are not tired you can come with me, I want to go rogue hunting."
There was a moment of silence for a while before she finally looked up at me.
"I'm not tired." She stepped forward.
Brave. I thought as I studied her.
"So do you always go hunting for rogues at this odd hour?" She asked as she tried to meet up my pace, I was walking unusually faster.
"When I feel like my pack is being threatened." I answered.
"Oh! I see....." She suddenly paused.
"What?" I turned to her.
"Did you hear that?" She enquired.
"Hear what?" I asked a little bit too loudly.
"Shhhh!" She placed her index finger on my lips urging me to stay quiet, our eyes met for a bit and I stared long into her eyes.
For the first time since I saw her, I noticed her unique green eyes, her slightly parted lips found a way of drawing my attention to them and I found myself getting lost in them.
I got lost staring into her oval shaped face that I totally forgot about what she wanted to tell me. I suddenly found my hand encircling her waist gradually and I pulled her close to me till she almost touched my chest.
"It's almost here." She whispered.
"What is almost here?" My brows furrowed.
She about moving her lips to say something when something big, fast and strong ran into us.
I was going to fight back, but it was so fast for me that before I could even realize it, I was already thrown to the ground by it. It was really fast, and it seemed like this creature was determined to hurt me with the way he came at me with all of his strength.
I started trying to fight it off, with the help of the stranger, I was able to get it off me. But it still was not an easy job fighting of the animal because it was really very big and fast. In fact this was the first time I had such a hard time fighting anything at all, an animal or a werewolf.
After much combat, and a few injuries I was able to get the animal by its weak point and slit it's throat.
My claws and cloths were stained with blood by the time I was done.
"You see? It was not that hard a task to do, team work." I turned and beamed at the stranger, but much to my surprise she was nowhere to be found.
"Where are you?" I suddenly shouted.
And that was when I realized that I had not even asked for her name.
I started combing around the environment in search for her, fearing that something would have happened to her, but much to my greatest fear, she was nowhere around.
CHAPTER SEVENAVAI was terrified with the speed at which that animal ran into us, I had never come across an animal as big as this in my entire life, not even in all my stay at the pack house, not even all the time I had spent in the forest training alone.Even though I had made up my mind from my time in the forest to never let myself get scared of anything, I was still startled by this creature. But still I did not give up. After Alpha Lesley was thrown away by the animal, I made it a point of duty to fight alongside him and get rid of the animal. It was a bit challenging, but I held on. And within the twinkle of an eye alpha Lesley was back on his feet and we both fought the animal hand in hand. I gained a little upper hand, holding onto its horns. I tried to slit its throat by jumping on its back. But little did I know that I was setting myself up for a long run. With just a little flip, I was thrown far away, not only away from the back of that mighty attacker, but far away fro
CHAPTER EIGHT I felt a surge of anger coarse through me as he immediately lifted me into his shoulder without even letting me make a decision on my own, is that how domineering he can be? I scoffed. Of course he is Alpha Lesley, I should even be surprised that he was being nice in the first place. Despite my anger, I still felt a rush of relief knowing I was in safe hands. I knew he was right, I couldn't keep going on my own, my limbs acted like they were would give way at anytime, and him offering his help even though it was unsolicited saved me from crashing down. Aside the feeling of resentment that I had because he would not just let me make my own decisions, I mean staying alone in the forest for that long had taught me how to be independent and not wait on anybody to be my saviour. But I still had a strange feeling of gratitude and I had to admit that I was glad he was there. First he saved me from the forest, then he saved me from the trap and just when my legs were about to
CHAPTER NINESara's POVThe rising sun hung high in the sky casting an orange glow over the Luna pack's territory.I had just come out of my room, and was immediately welcomed by the beautiful sun. I had always loved the rising sunlight, it had a way of bringing back memories, sweet memories.I smiled up at the sky as they soft wind blew my hair.I thought about alpha Lesley. I had heard rumours last night that he returned with a she wolf from where he went to hunt for rogues. At first I had felt apprehensive about it, and then I had dismissed it not until this morning when I heard he had even gone out again with this she wolf and they were yet to return. This made me feel like there was more to all of these. And it brought a pang of pain that gnawed desperately at my heart. And just like it had been perfectly timed. I was about walking over to the Alpha Lesley's chamber to have a look, to be sure if he was really out with another woman when I witnessed the most heartbreaking scene of
CHAPTER TENAVA'S POVMy heart beat increased with every passing second, I wondered what was up with the she wolf and why she was suddenly attacking me.I kept moving backwards as she advanced towards me, until I almost hit the bed if not for my elbows that I used to wedge my body. The murderous looks in her eyes did not evade me as she leaned towards me, her voice sounding like she was ever ready to kill. There was cold silence in the room as we both stared into each other's eyes. Soon, the murderous glare in her eyes disappeared and was replaced by a fake smile."I see Alpha Lesley brought you, I have no choice than to be nice to you."I gasped and let out a deep breath when she pulled away."I actually came here to take a look at your wounds, I was told you were injured. Was she the one Alpha Lesley had sent to look at my wound? Why was she being so aggressive at first? She pulled out the first aid box which she had earlier kept under the bed and opened it, then she knelt in front
CHAPTER ONEAVAI couldn't help the countless tears that dripped down from my eyes as I sat on the cold hard ground, tears of unbelieve, betrayal and anger, anger that the people I love and cared about could not even stand up for me, people who were supposed to have my back at all cost. Now I found myself locked up alone with no one to stand by me. I was cold, hungry and shattered, I had even gotten multiple bites from insects I couldn't even see. I had no idea for how long I had been here, since the dungeon was always dark and I could not even discern between day and night. But all of these physical pains I felt right now were no match to what I felt in my heart the hurt I felt I'm my heart was nothing I had ever felt before. My heart churned over and over again whenever I remember the disgusted look on Theodore's face when I tried to explain to him that I was not guilty of what I was being accused of.Just few days ago we were just okay, everything was going well for me, we wer
CHAPTER TWOAVAHer lips trembled as she spoke, I was told it was as a result of all the spirits they had to consult. "The person who stole the claw is the same person who has it under her bed" the witch suddenly said. I was shocked by her words, I looked around to be sure that everyone else had had heard the exact same thing I heard from the witch. But my heart was broken into a thousand pieces when I met Theodore's eyes, he was looking at me with a mixture of disgust and disbelief. I took a step closer to him, my lips trembling, my eyes misty. At that moment nothing else mattered to me except him, only if Theodore could tell me he believed me then I would be completely okay. "Theodore trust me, I didn't take the claws, you believe me right? You know I would not do something like that, I don't steal" I said as I walked up to him, trying to stretch my hand to touch him. "But the divination said otherwise Ava" I heard Lina's voice from behind. I turned around quickly to loo
CHAPTER THREEAVAI wiped the tears in my eyes as I slowly walked away from the pack house, into the forest. Although I had no idea where I was going, I had never left the pack house before, I had lived my entire life there and had never had a reason to leave, even I did not even have a single idea who my real parents were, I just found myself here and had lived all my live here and also loved and was loved by everyone here. I turned back to take several looks at the pack house, I might likely not be coming back here again. As I walked further into the forest, unable to believe the betrayal from my friend. I angrily wiped the tears flowing from my eyes with the helm of my cloth, the sadness that once clouded my heart was quickly replaced by anger and deep seated hatred, I could not believe the words I heard from somebody I considered a friend. Her words kept echoing over and over in my ears till I punched a nearby tree angrily. "Good thing she is going to leave, I would finall
CHAPTER FOURI was awoken by the flickers of light that seeped in from the small patches and blinded my eyes forcing me to squint as I opened my eyes slowly. I sat up immediately and looked around the small tent I had made with leaves and sticks I had collected from the forest. I was late for my morning training. It's been a few weeks since I had been in the forest and I had learnt to make the forest my home. I had created a routine for my morning trainings which I never missed, I was determined to train myself to the top and acquire as much power as I could, all the people that had betrayed me would surely pay for everything they had done to me. So far I had made a lot of progress and I was really happy with the progress I had made. I found out I could now do the things I was not able to do while I was in the pack house, I noticed some improvements on my speed, I had also improved in my shape shifting abilities and I could now control my transformation. CHAPTER FIVE"You have really developed some balls then" a voice said as the figure emerged from the darkness. The voice sounded familiar, I started to rack my brain where I had heard this voice from. "I expected you to also run away like your colleague" he said again as his whole body emerged fully from the darkness. I stared at him wide eyed as I suddenly realized who he was. My heart suddenly started beating uncontrollably at the sight of him. I could not explain the emotion I felt as I stared at him, and he stared back at me with his deep blue eyes. "Are you happy to see me?" He asked with an amused look on his face. I immediately felt ashamed of myself, he might have seen through me and saw all of the shameful desires I harboured about him in my heart, I felt like he could see through me with those magnificent eyes of his, and he might have seen all of the things I had imagined he would do to me with those lips of his, and those beautiful hands. But he can't really blame
