CHAPTER TEN
AVA'S POVMy heart beat increased with every passing second, I wondered what was up with the she wolf and why she was suddenly attacking me.I kept moving backwards as she advanced towards me, until I almost hit the bed if not for my elbows that I used to wedge my body.
The murderous looks in her eyes did not evade me as she leaned towards me, her voice sounding like she was ever ready to kill.
There was cold silence in the room as we both stared into each other's eyes.
Soon, the murderous glare in her eyes disappeared and was replaced by a fake smile.
"I see Alpha Lesley brought you, I have no choice than to be nice to you."
I gasped and let out a deep breath when she pulled away.
"I actually came here to take a look at your wounds, I was told you were injured.
Was she the one Alpha Lesley had sent to look at my wound? Why was she being so aggressive at first?
She pulled out the first aid box which she had earlier kept under the bed and opened it, then she knelt in front of me and took my injured foot in her hand.
"Why isn't this healing?"
She placed her hand on the wound and pressed so hard till I let out a whimper.
"Does it hurt?" She looked up at me. I was quiet at the question because I was yet to know her motive, she didn't seem like a friendly person to me.
She pressed harder when there was no answer.
"Does it hurt?" She asked again, this time my breath hitched, I caught my tongue in between my teeth to prevent myself from screaming.
She did not stop her assault on my foot, she pressed even harder until I was forced to scream out.
"Stop!" I screamed looking directly into her face.
Her lips curled up into a smile and then she wore a sorry look on her face.
"I will make it stop okay."
I gasped as I watched her pour a small liquid over the wound, a burnt a bit but it was bearable.
Then after cleaning the surface she wrapped it up with a bandage.
"Does it still hurt?" She asked again this time in a calmer friendly tone.
Not knowing what to make out from her behavior, I simply shook my head.
"See?" Her lips curled up again. "I told you I would make it stop."
She carefully closed the box and stood up, then she came closer and tapped my shoulder gently.
"You should have some rest okay? Enough rest."
So saying, she turned around and walked out of the room not sparing me another glance.
I let out a sigh of relief once the door was securely closed.
"What kind of a psychotic nurse or doctor or whoever she is does Alpha Lesley have in his pack?" I spoke out aloud.
Soon enough, I was already starting to feel dizzy, my eye lids felt heavy, like they were about to give way at anytime.
I rested back on the bed, facing the ceiling with my two hands supporting my head.
Before long, I rolled over and slept off.
By the time I woke up, it was already dark. The room I was with was in total darkness.
I rubbed by eyes, trying to navigate my way through the darkness. For how long had I been asleep? How did I manage to sleep for this long?
The darkness had a lot to tell that it was already late. Although there were still some voices outside that suggested that it was still early enough for people to be awake. I remembered seeing a candle and a pack of match on the bedside table, I thought probably I should light it up to brighten up the room a bit.I began my little adventure in the dark, navigating my way through until I got to the table and started trailing my fingers along until I found the candle and the match stick.
After the candle was lighted, I noticed a plate of food on the bedside table.
And as if my stomach had been waiting for that moment, it automatically started rumbling non stop. Without thinking I picked up the food and went back to sit on the bed, with hope of devouring the food.
After chugging down several spoonfuls, I paused immediately. Realizing that I was eating the food without even ensuring it was really mine. And then what if it was poisoned? The she wolf that appeared earlier did not seem really happy with her.
"Well too late." I mumbled, I was already eating the food.
I pounced on the food once again until there was nothing more left in the plate.
And now I'm thirsty.
I looked around the room again hoping to find a liquid that could quench my thirst, any liquid at all. There was nothing!
"Who would drop food without water?" I asked impatiently.
Feeling frustrated, u decided to leave the room. Getting to the door, and about to open it I suddenly paused, remembering the hostile she wolf I had met earlier. What if she was just waiting for me outside?
Finally mustering courage, I pulled the door open. And the first place my eyes landed was the door opposite, that was the first place I had seen her. But much to my relief she was not there.
I tiptoed out of the room, and the first fresh air of the night hit my face.
The moon was out, and it was standing tall in the sky all beautiful and spreading light all over the pack house that one would not need a candle outside.I closed my eyes and breathed in fresh air.
The night air smelled nice too. It was almost twenty four hours since I first arrived here, since I met Alpha Lesley. A smile spread across my face when I remembered the very first time I had seen him, my stupid heart had wanted him Instantly.
I berated myself for having such shameful thoughts and opened my eyes.
It was like my imagination was staring me right in the face the moment I opened my eyes. Just a little distance from where I stood, Alpha Lesley was standing there and giving instructions to some pack members.
He turned the moment I opened my eyes and our eyes met.
His lips curled up when he saw me, then he beckoned on me to come.
I walked towards him, dragging my feet along.
"You were sleeping when I came in. I brought you food, but because you looked so peaceful I didn't want to wake you up."
Oh! He brought the food? What a relief. At least I won't die of poisoning.
He took my hand and we walked over to a quiet place in the pack house, using the moon as a guiding light.
Walking hand in hand with this handsome Alpha gave me some kind of sweet chills, u even momentarily forgot about my thirst. Being close to Alpha Lesley was everything to me. I noticed he kept taking long glances aty face, I wondered why.
The silence was awkward so I decided to initiate a conversation.
"I didn't know you had such aggressively weird people in your pack." I finally said, referring to the she wolf who had attacked me earlier.
"What?" He asked, suddenly stopping in his tracks and turning back to face me.
CHAPTER ONEAVAI couldn't help the countless tears that dripped down from my eyes as I sat on the cold hard ground, tears of unbelieve, betrayal and anger, anger that the people I love and cared about could not even stand up for me, people who were supposed to have my back at all cost. Now I found myself locked up alone with no one to stand by me. I was cold, hungry and shattered, I had even gotten multiple bites from insects I couldn't even see. I had no idea for how long I had been here, since the dungeon was always dark and I could not even discern between day and night. But all of these physical pains I felt right now were no match to what I felt in my heart the hurt I felt I'm my heart was nothing I had ever felt before. My heart churned over and over again whenever I remember the disgusted look on Theodore's face when I tried to explain to him that I was not guilty of what I was being accused of.Just few days ago we were just okay, everything was going well for me, we wer
CHAPTER TWOAVAHer lips trembled as she spoke, I was told it was as a result of all the spirits they had to consult. "The person who stole the claw is the same person who has it under her bed" the witch suddenly said. I was shocked by her words, I looked around to be sure that everyone else had had heard the exact same thing I heard from the witch. But my heart was broken into a thousand pieces when I met Theodore's eyes, he was looking at me with a mixture of disgust and disbelief. I took a step closer to him, my lips trembling, my eyes misty. At that moment nothing else mattered to me except him, only if Theodore could tell me he believed me then I would be completely okay. "Theodore trust me, I didn't take the claws, you believe me right? You know I would not do something like that, I don't steal" I said as I walked up to him, trying to stretch my hand to touch him. "But the divination said otherwise Ava" I heard Lina's voice from behind. I turned around quickly to loo
CHAPTER THREEAVAI wiped the tears in my eyes as I slowly walked away from the pack house, into the forest. Although I had no idea where I was going, I had never left the pack house before, I had lived my entire life there and had never had a reason to leave, even I did not even have a single idea who my real parents were, I just found myself here and had lived all my live here and also loved and was loved by everyone here. I turned back to take several looks at the pack house, I might likely not be coming back here again. As I walked further into the forest, unable to believe the betrayal from my friend. I angrily wiped the tears flowing from my eyes with the helm of my cloth, the sadness that once clouded my heart was quickly replaced by anger and deep seated hatred, I could not believe the words I heard from somebody I considered a friend. Her words kept echoing over and over in my ears till I punched a nearby tree angrily. "Good thing she is going to leave, I would finall
CHAPTER FOURI was awoken by the flickers of light that seeped in from the small patches and blinded my eyes forcing me to squint as I opened my eyes slowly. I sat up immediately and looked around the small tent I had made with leaves and sticks I had collected from the forest. I was late for my morning training. It's been a few weeks since I had been in the forest and I had learnt to make the forest my home. I had created a routine for my morning trainings which I never missed, I was determined to train myself to the top and acquire as much power as I could, all the people that had betrayed me would surely pay for everything they had done to me. So far I had made a lot of progress and I was really happy with the progress I had made. I found out I could now do the things I was not able to do while I was in the pack house, I noticed some improvements on my speed, I had also improved in my shape shifting abilities and I could now control my transformation. I had fought a few wild an
CHAPTER FIVE"You have really developed some balls then" a voice said as the figure emerged from the darkness. The voice sounded familiar, I started to rack my brain where I had heard this voice from. "I expected you to also run away like your colleague" he said again as his whole body emerged fully from the darkness. I stared at him wide eyed as I suddenly realized who he was. My heart suddenly started beating uncontrollably at the sight of him. I could not explain the emotion I felt as I stared at him, and he stared back at me with his deep blue eyes. "Are you happy to see me?" He asked with an amused look on his face. I immediately felt ashamed of myself, he might have seen through me and saw all of the shameful desires I harboured about him in my heart, I felt like he could see through me with those magnificent eyes of his, and he might have seen all of the things I had imagined he would do to me with those lips of his, and those beautiful hands. But he can't really blame
CHAPTER SIXLESLEYI slowly opened my eyes a few seconds after the spark, looking around wondering what kind of spark was powerful enough to throw me that far away, and then who was this girl?I stood up from the ground and dusted my body, while feeling embarrassed at myself that I let myself be thrown that hard. I was supposed to be one of the most powerful and most feared alpha around. But then I tried to console myself with the fact that it came unexpectedly.Just as I was about going my way, I thought a little about the strange she wolf, I thought it would be unfair leaving her there alone, and most importantly, I was curious. I needed to know more about her, and why the spark.I remembered her telling me she was homeless, then I considered the possibilities of inviting her to my pack. She was unconscious when I walked up to where she was lying, I found it a bit strange. Especially since I was about accusing her for what happened."Hey!" I whispered hovering over her, but her eyes
CHAPTER SEVENAVAI was terrified with the speed at which that animal ran into us, I had never come across an animal as big as this in my entire life, not even in all my stay at the pack house, not even all the time I had spent in the forest training alone.Even though I had made up my mind from my time in the forest to never let myself get scared of anything, I was still startled by this creature. But still I did not give up. After Alpha Lesley was thrown away by the animal, I made it a point of duty to fight alongside him and get rid of the animal. It was a bit challenging, but I held on. And within the twinkle of an eye alpha Lesley was back on his feet and we both fought the animal hand in hand. I gained a little upper hand, holding onto its horns. I tried to slit its throat by jumping on its back. But little did I know that I was setting myself up for a long run. With just a little flip, I was thrown far away, not only away from the back of that mighty attacker, but far away fro
CHAPTER EIGHT I felt a surge of anger coarse through me as he immediately lifted me into his shoulder without even letting me make a decision on my own, is that how domineering he can be? I scoffed. Of course he is Alpha Lesley, I should even be surprised that he was being nice in the first place. Despite my anger, I still felt a rush of relief knowing I was in safe hands. I knew he was right, I couldn't keep going on my own, my limbs acted like they were would give way at anytime, and him offering his help even though it was unsolicited saved me from crashing down. Aside the feeling of resentment that I had because he would not just let me make my own decisions, I mean staying alone in the forest for that long had taught me how to be independent and not wait on anybody to be my saviour. But I still had a strange feeling of gratitude and I had to admit that I was glad he was there. First he saved me from the forest, then he saved me from the trap and just when my legs were about to

CHAPTER NINESara's POVThe rising sun hung high in the sky casting an orange glow over the Luna pack's territory.I had just come out of my room, and was immediately welcomed by the beautiful sun. I had always loved the rising sunlight, it had a way of bringing back memories, sweet memories.I smiled up at the sky as they soft wind blew my hair.I thought about alpha Lesley. I had heard rumours last night that he returned with a she wolf from where he went to hunt for rogues. At first I had felt apprehensive about it, and then I had dismissed it not until this morning when I heard he had even gone out again with this she wolf and they were yet to return. This made me feel like there was more to all of these. And it brought a pang of pain that gnawed desperately at my heart. And just like it had been perfectly timed. I was about walking over to the Alpha Lesley's chamber to have a look, to be sure if he was really out with another woman when I witnessed the most heartbreaking scene of
