TRIGGER WARNING!!!
The unrestrained screams of pain echoed in the air disturbing the calmness of the night. The creaking of the crickets were overshadowed by the screams. A man strapped to a chair kept on screaming as the other people in the room pretended like there wasn't a man screaming from pain. A needle was inserted in his neck as a yellowish liquid flowed into his bloodstream. He fought against his restraint trying to get the needle off him. The more the liquid was injected in him,the more pain intensified. His muscles clenched as they were affected by the drug flowing into his system. His body felt like hot lava was being injected into it. His heartbeat increased and decreased as it strained painfully in his ribcage. Luca walked into the room, his eyes taking in the scene before him. Noticing his presence, the men stood on guard, nodding in greetings before they went on to what they were doing. Luca made his way closer to the injured man, Marcus following behind him. He observed the man,his face devoid of any emotion. "What's that?" He asked Marcus in an icy voice. " I have no idea what it is. Doc only said that it won't kill him. It will only cause pain" Marcus replied in a bored tone. Luca noticed how the vein in his hands popped. He stared at the man's bloodshot eyes, feeling anger slowly creeping in. Not being able to control himself,he landed a punch straight on the man's face. Marcus gave him a handkerchief to clean his hand. "Did he tell you how long the effect will last?" Luca asked with an unreadable expression on his face. Marcus stared at the restrained man silently, looking at him as though thinking of something before he replied. "Doc said that it will only last for a few hours but we have been injecting him for a long time now, I think it might mutate his cells" Luca signaled his men to pull out the injection from his neck. The man let out a sobbing sigh as he tried to catch his breath. Grabbing the man's hair in his hand, Luca forced his head up to meet his gaze. He stared down at the man with cold eyes. "Why did you guys decide to lay an ambush tonight?" He said in a whisper low enough for just the man to hear. The man pulled on his restraint trying to get away from him. The hand on his hair tightened pulling on his scalp tightly. The man begged, his face covered in tears and mucus. "We were not informed, I swear. I'm just a new recruit, I know nothing" He screamed as the pain on his scalp increased. Luca's expression hardened at his words, his fingers tightening around the man's scalp. "Then that's too bad" he said, shoving the man's head away. Luca stepped away from the man. He rubbed his hands vigorously on his face out of frustration. Grabbing a nearby whiskey bottle,he threw it on the ground, the glass shattering as tiny shards flew in the air. The man trembled in the seat as he stared at Luca with wide eyes, scared to even blink. He made a short prayer to God hoping to survive this. "P…please, I don't know anything just l…let m..me g..go," he managed to splutter out, his voice shaking with terror. Luca made his way outside, taking a huge breath of clean air. The cool air did nothing to soothe his tense mood. Marcus followed after him standing beside him. "Here" he said, offering Luca a cigarette from his pack of cigarettes. He helped him light his before lighting one for himself. Neither of them said anything. They stood in silence gazing at the bright moon as they took puffs from the cigarettes. Luca threw his cigarette on the wet grass watching as the flame died down. "Everything seems so suspicious. With a security like ours, I don't get why the attacks get too close to being successful" He said his voice laced with frustration. Taking a drag from his cigarette, Marcus replied. "The mole we planted in their territory always fail to give us an information on time" Luca remained silent, plenty of thoughts going through his mind. His mafia organization was one of the most powerful and undefeated for years now but recently things seems to be going wrong. "One thing I'm sure of is that the enemy is within us" Marcus said in a dark tone, his eyes flickering to Luca for a second. "Should I send a message to your father for help?" "I don't want his help and please don't speak of him here" Luca said before turning to leave. " I'm heading inside now" Marcus stared at Luca's retreating form before he called out to him. "You're sleeping here tonight?" He asked, smoke escaping his lips as he spoke. "I'll sleep here for tonight and head back in the morning" Luca replied without turning back to look at Marcus. Marcus watched Luca's form as he retreated into the building. He stood with his hands in his pocket as he was lost in thought. Pulling out his phone,he dialed a number on it. "How's the current situation in the club?" He asked as soon the call was answered. "Much damage wasn't done sir and we were able to get the press to avoid writing stories on this" the person replied. "What about the injured victims?" Marcus asked. "Their family was compensated. Don't worry boss, everything is taken care of" The person assured. Ending the call, Marcus ended the call before walking back into the house. ——— Somewhere in a different part of the city, Sebastian sat in a private booth of a five star restaurant having a conversation with his friend. His friend spoke up breaking the comfortable silence, "I heard the news about what happened at Marcus club." He said, looking at Sebastian with suspicious eyes. "Why do I have a feeling that you're behind it?" Sebastian threw his head back as he chuckled, swirling the drink in his hand. " Please don't flatter me, Samuel. I'm too busy for that" he replied in a light tone. "But I do suspect that my father has something to do with it," Sebastian continued, his tone turning serious as he spoke. Samuel raised an eyebrow at Sebastian's comment,a question in his eyes. "Why do you say so?" He asked, leaning closer. Sebastian shrugged, sipping his drink. " Luca disrespected father at dinner today and father isn't one to take disrespect so likely"The early morning sunlight streaming through the tiny gap from the curtain shone on Alexandra's face, stirring her awake. The deep musky scent on the pillow invaded her nostrils making her snuggle closer into it mummering incoherently in her sleep. She held the pillow closer, inhaling the scent in an unladylike manner. She snapped her eyes open when she heard the soft creak of the door indicating that it was being opened. She stood up quickly making her head feel dizzy. The blanket fell off her body, tangling her leg and making her fall off the bed, landing face flat on the floor. Her skin flushed as a wave of embarrassment washed over her.She let out a meek squeak as her body laid on the floor in an ungraceful manner. She pressed her face on the cold hard surface of the tiled floor trying to calm her aching head. After laying on the floor for a moment, she finally pushed herself up trying to steady herself as she was still in her heels from last night. Her eyes moved to the door to s
"You have nothing to worry about, your friend is fine" he assured her, watching as her shoulders relaxed at his words. He released a deep chuckle before he added, "Now the table is turned. You're at my house this time" Alexandra raised her head to look at him before saying, " I guess we are even now" She said in a soft voice. " I really think it's time for me to go"" Sure, I understand," Luca replied with a nod. " But we'll have to get you something presentable to wear before heading home. How about we go buy some clothes and then you go"Alexandra immediately shook her head in protest. " That's very generous of you but I…" Luca held up a hand stopping her mid sentence. "I'm not taking no for an answer" He said in a firm tone as he stared at her. "Just a dress, this one you're wearing right now looks like it was made in the late 1800s" Alexandra's face heated up at his words. She knew that the clothes were too big on her but he didn't have to point it out like that. Swallowing the
Alexandra got closer to her apartment with a huge grin playing on her lips. She half skipped and half walked to her apartment, her face bright with excitement. Her smile dropped when she noticed a figure crouched in front of her door.As though noticing her presence, the person looked towards Alexandra's direction, revealing a family face. "Aurora!" Alexandra's voice echoed in the hallway as she saw her friend. She had forgotten the main reason she was worried at first and suddenly she felt like a bad friend for forgetting her friend.Aurora quickly stood up as she rushed towards Alexandra before enveloping her in a very tight hug.Aurora hugged her tightly, not letting go as tears formed in her eyes. "Thank Goodness that you're safe," she breathed out in a shaky voice. "I was so worried when I couldn't find you in the club. I thought… I thought something bad had happened to you."Alexandra patted Aurora's back feeling bad that she had caused her friend so much worry. " I tried to look
Adele's lips pulled up in a wide smile at his words. "I don't care what you call it, it's a date to me," She said in a confident tone, her eyes admiring the beauty before it. "I'm just glad that you thought that it's a good idea for us to bond before we finally get married" Luca signaled for a waiter to get another bottle of wine. When the waiter returned with the bottle and poured a glass for him he finally spoke. " That's why I called you here. You have to tell your father that you're no longer interested in this marriage"Her eyes hardened as she glared at Luca, her face devoid of any emotion as she responded, " I'm not going to do that"Luca's cool gaze was fixed on her face with indifference as he spoke in a steady voice. "You weren't given an option," He said in an unwavering tone." I'm not calling off this marriage Luca, you'll get married to me and that's final" Adele retorted, not shrinking under his intimidating eyes."I really don't want to make a big deal from this so you
Alexandra sat in the very high class restaurant as she waited for Luca. He had sent his driver to pick her up and bring her here. The restaurant was so fancy with a very serene atmosphere. A week ago, Alexandra didn't think that she'd step foot into a fancy restaurant like this today but here she was.She observed the place subtly taking in the magnificent setting. A waiter had asked her what she wanted to eat but she decided to wait for Luca to make the order. The restaurant was empty except for her and the staff. She was glad that no one was around because she was feeling a little self conscious about herself.Hearing footsteps approaching her, Alexandra turned to see Luca walking towards her. His hair was slightly tousled as though he had run his hands through them repeatedly but that didn't do anything to make him less handsome. He smiled as he noticed her looking at him which made her drop her gaze.He sat across from her, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, something…important came
In the dark corner of the driveway, two tall figures hid in the shadows. One of them visibly angry and the other calm as he stared at the enraged man. He clenched his fist as he glared at his friend."What the f**k,Russo?" He said through clenched teeth. "What the f**k was on your mind? What the f**k were you thinking?" Russo remained unfazed, his expression betraying no emotion as he remained silent, taking a huge puff of his cigarette. A punch landed on his face, the cigarettes falling from his lips to the slightly wet floor. He allowed his friend to vent his anger on him.The angry man continued with his attack on Russo, his face twisted into a snarl of anger. "I TOLD YOU TO CHILL THE F**K OUT" he said loudly with each punch. " We needed to keep him off our tail for now and you decide to pull this crazy stunt now"Russo, who had had enough, pushed him away. His nose was bloody from the attack. The huge scar on his face glinted under the dim light as he took a few steps away from hi
"Good night,Mira" Alexandra waved goodbye to her coworker as she made her way towards the path that led to the bus stop. She checked the phone on her phone and saw that it was five minutes past nine. "I need to hurry home before the wicked lady locks me out" She muttered under her breath as she clutched the strap of her bag closer to her shoulder. Alexandra always tried to get home early because her landlady gave a curfew but today, the restaurant had lots of customers making them close late. Alexandra is a twenty-one year old graduate of international relations but due to some circumstances, she works in a little end family diner. She lives alone after her parents cut off ties from her after she refused to marry an old man who they insisted she marry. "Music to calm my nerves down" She said but decided against it as she was in a dangerous neighborhood and it was advisable to be on guard. Alexandra flinched with every sound she heard. A news story came out last year that a you
After what felt like an eternity but was actually about thirty minutes, Alexandra finally got closer to her apartment building. She would have gotten home much earlier if not for the injured man she was supporting with her hand. She felt like her body was about to give out. From the distance, she noticed the security guard standing at the gate eating something. He had the habit of sneaking out to eat his snacks so that his co-workers wouldn't stop him because he has a junk eating problem. She increased her pace so that she'd get to him before he entered inside. It was way past her curfew and she didn't want to encounter Mrs Smithson, her landlady who had the habit of acting like a security camera."Hi, Good evening sir" Alexandra said in an overly sweet voice which made her wince internally. "Please can you open the gate…my friend here is seriously injured" She continued, looking up to her landlady's window but luckily her lights were out. The guard glared at her as he was trying to enj
