The early morning sunlight streaming through the tiny gap from the curtain shone on Alexandra's face, stirring her awake. The deep musky scent on the pillow invaded her nostrils making her snuggle closer into it mummering incoherently in her sleep.
She held the pillow closer, inhaling the scent in an unladylike manner. She snapped her eyes open when she heard the soft creak of the door indicating that it was being opened. She stood up quickly making her head feel dizzy. The blanket fell off her body, tangling her leg and making her fall off the bed, landing face flat on the floor. Her skin flushed as a wave of embarrassment washed over her. She let out a meek squeak as her body laid on the floor in an ungraceful manner. She pressed her face on the cold hard surface of the tiled floor trying to calm her aching head. After laying on the floor for a moment, she finally pushed herself up trying to steady herself as she was still in her heels from last night. Her eyes moved to the door to see an old woman in a maid's outfit staring at her with concern in her eyes. The old woman helped Alexandra sit on the bed before pouring her a glass of water. She stared down at her with a warm smile on her lips. "Drink this. Are you okay, dear?" She asked, handing the glass to Alexandra. "I'm sorry I startled you. I didn't expect anyone to be in here" Alexandra stared at the woman with confusion in her eyes. " Where am I?" " You're in Luca's penthouse" The old woman replied, watching the young lady with a wearily gaze. " Don't you remember coming here last night" Alexandra's eyes darted around the room, noticing how expensive each detail was. She noticed how the bed she was sitting on could fill up her living room and no space would be left but here, there was plenty of space to move around. "Oh! Wow! I've never been in a penthouse before" she said, opening her mouth slightly, her voice filled with awe. "It shows darling. Yea I know it's quite a place, isn't it?" The woman said,a tinge of pride laced in her voice. The phone rang and the old woman went to get it. Alexandra watched the woman bring the phone to her ear as she began speaking in a soft voice into the phone. After a brief moment, she hung up the phone and turned towards Alexandra. "The boss asked me to serve you breakfast, please freshen up in the bathroom. I'll leave a cloth on the bed for when you come out" The old woman informed before making her way out of the room. ——— Once Alexandra was changed into fresh clothes she made her way out of the room. The clothes were slightly baggy and very long. She wandered through the Byzantine hallways of the penthouse. She felt like she was in a maze because she kept ending up in the same hallway over and over again until the old lady found her and led her to the dining room. The clothes almost made her trip due to its length but she didn't want to complain because it was better than the tight clothes that she was wearing earlier which was soaked with her sweats. Alexandra stopped in her tracks as she got to the dining room, her wide eyes taking in the view. The dining area was spacious and was decorated with beautiful gigantic flower vases. A long table that was big enough to fit at least thirteen people was set in the center. Alexandra stood there awkwardly, afraid that she might ruin something just by getting close to it. Noticing that Alexandra wasn't going to move, the old lady led her to a chair and told her to sit. Alexandra sat down on the chair stiffly, trying not to touch any other thing around her. The textile covering of the chair felt comfortable and she couldn't help but sink into it. A few minutes later, a young man that seemed to be in his early twenties wearing a cooks uniform entered the dining room with a tray in his hand. The tray contained soft, fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy strips of bacon, a small stack of golden pancakes and a little dish of mixed fruits. Her stomach let out an embarrassingly loud rumble at the sight of the food. She hadn't eaten anything before going to the party and her stomach was very empty. Once she was the only one in the room, she dug into the food, shoveling it into her mouth like a starved wolf. Alexandra ate so fast that she didn't have time to breathe. She had never had such a rich breakfast before as she only ate what was available in her cupboard. Every bite of the food felt like a slice of heaven in her mouth. Hearing footsteps coming towards her,she looked up and her eyes widened in surprise. She watched as Luca walked towards her in a long confident stride, moving with such grace that she wished she had. His shoulders rolled smoothly underneath the tailored fabric on his body. Alexandra felt her heart beat race and she couldn't decide if it was from fear or excitement. Luca's unwavering gaze was fixed on her as he came to her side. He took note of her slightly damp hair and the wrinkled clothes that she wore. He also noted how she hunched her back as he got closer, almost trying to be dwarfed by the large chair. "Hope you had a pleasant night?" Luca asked in a deep smooth voice that sent shivers down her spine. Her body twitched as a bolt of desire shot through her body causing her to choke on a piece of fruit. He offered her a glass of water. Her eyes watered slightly from the fruit as her cheeks turned red immediately. She could feel the heat radiating off my face. A smirk tucked on Luca's lip at her flustered expression. "Thank you for last night" She finally managed to say avoiding his gaze. "Is my friend okay?""You have nothing to worry about, your friend is fine" he assured her, watching as her shoulders relaxed at his words. He released a deep chuckle before he added, "Now the table is turned. You're at my house this time" Alexandra raised her head to look at him before saying, " I guess we are even now" She said in a soft voice. " I really think it's time for me to go"" Sure, I understand," Luca replied with a nod. " But we'll have to get you something presentable to wear before heading home. How about we go buy some clothes and then you go"Alexandra immediately shook her head in protest. " That's very generous of you but I…" Luca held up a hand stopping her mid sentence. "I'm not taking no for an answer" He said in a firm tone as he stared at her. "Just a dress, this one you're wearing right now looks like it was made in the late 1800s" Alexandra's face heated up at his words. She knew that the clothes were too big on her but he didn't have to point it out like that. Swallowing the
Alexandra got closer to her apartment with a huge grin playing on her lips. She half skipped and half walked to her apartment, her face bright with excitement. Her smile dropped when she noticed a figure crouched in front of her door.As though noticing her presence, the person looked towards Alexandra's direction, revealing a family face. "Aurora!" Alexandra's voice echoed in the hallway as she saw her friend. She had forgotten the main reason she was worried at first and suddenly she felt like a bad friend for forgetting her friend.Aurora quickly stood up as she rushed towards Alexandra before enveloping her in a very tight hug.Aurora hugged her tightly, not letting go as tears formed in her eyes. "Thank Goodness that you're safe," she breathed out in a shaky voice. "I was so worried when I couldn't find you in the club. I thought… I thought something bad had happened to you."Alexandra patted Aurora's back feeling bad that she had caused her friend so much worry. " I tried to look
Adele's lips pulled up in a wide smile at his words. "I don't care what you call it, it's a date to me," She said in a confident tone, her eyes admiring the beauty before it. "I'm just glad that you thought that it's a good idea for us to bond before we finally get married" Luca signaled for a waiter to get another bottle of wine. When the waiter returned with the bottle and poured a glass for him he finally spoke. " That's why I called you here. You have to tell your father that you're no longer interested in this marriage"Her eyes hardened as she glared at Luca, her face devoid of any emotion as she responded, " I'm not going to do that"Luca's cool gaze was fixed on her face with indifference as he spoke in a steady voice. "You weren't given an option," He said in an unwavering tone." I'm not calling off this marriage Luca, you'll get married to me and that's final" Adele retorted, not shrinking under his intimidating eyes."I really don't want to make a big deal from this so you
Alexandra sat in the very high class restaurant as she waited for Luca. He had sent his driver to pick her up and bring her here. The restaurant was so fancy with a very serene atmosphere. A week ago, Alexandra didn't think that she'd step foot into a fancy restaurant like this today but here she was.She observed the place subtly taking in the magnificent setting. A waiter had asked her what she wanted to eat but she decided to wait for Luca to make the order. The restaurant was empty except for her and the staff. She was glad that no one was around because she was feeling a little self conscious about herself.Hearing footsteps approaching her, Alexandra turned to see Luca walking towards her. His hair was slightly tousled as though he had run his hands through them repeatedly but that didn't do anything to make him less handsome. He smiled as he noticed her looking at him which made her drop her gaze.He sat across from her, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, something…important came
In the dark corner of the driveway, two tall figures hid in the shadows. One of them visibly angry and the other calm as he stared at the enraged man. He clenched his fist as he glared at his friend."What the f**k,Russo?" He said through clenched teeth. "What the f**k was on your mind? What the f**k were you thinking?" Russo remained unfazed, his expression betraying no emotion as he remained silent, taking a huge puff of his cigarette. A punch landed on his face, the cigarettes falling from his lips to the slightly wet floor. He allowed his friend to vent his anger on him.The angry man continued with his attack on Russo, his face twisted into a snarl of anger. "I TOLD YOU TO CHILL THE F**K OUT" he said loudly with each punch. " We needed to keep him off our tail for now and you decide to pull this crazy stunt now"Russo, who had had enough, pushed him away. His nose was bloody from the attack. The huge scar on his face glinted under the dim light as he took a few steps away from hi
"Good night,Mira" Alexandra waved goodbye to her coworker as she made her way towards the path that led to the bus stop. She checked the phone on her phone and saw that it was five minutes past nine. "I need to hurry home before the wicked lady locks me out" She muttered under her breath as she clutched the strap of her bag closer to her shoulder. Alexandra always tried to get home early because her landlady gave a curfew but today, the restaurant had lots of customers making them close late. Alexandra is a twenty-one year old graduate of international relations but due to some circumstances, she works in a little end family diner. She lives alone after her parents cut off ties from her after she refused to marry an old man who they insisted she marry. "Music to calm my nerves down" She said but decided against it as she was in a dangerous neighborhood and it was advisable to be on guard. Alexandra flinched with every sound she heard. A news story came out last year that a you
After what felt like an eternity but was actually about thirty minutes, Alexandra finally got closer to her apartment building. She would have gotten home much earlier if not for the injured man she was supporting with her hand. She felt like her body was about to give out. From the distance, she noticed the security guard standing at the gate eating something. He had the habit of sneaking out to eat his snacks so that his co-workers wouldn't stop him because he has a junk eating problem. She increased her pace so that she'd get to him before he entered inside. It was way past her curfew and she didn't want to encounter Mrs Smithson, her landlady who had the habit of acting like a security camera."Hi, Good evening sir" Alexandra said in an overly sweet voice which made her wince internally. "Please can you open the gate…my friend here is seriously injured" She continued, looking up to her landlady's window but luckily her lights were out. The guard glared at her as he was trying to enj
Luca's men opened the door to reveal a small, barely lit room with a man strapped to a seat in the corner. The flimsy underpant he wore did nothing to cover his dignity. His face and body was covered in horrible bruises of different colors. Luca walked into the room, taking the seat opposite of the man. He stared at the man with menacing eyes as he spoke in a dark, low voice, "I must say you're really tough but too bad I'm not here for games, I hope you're ready to talk" The man threw his head back as he laughed hysterically before looking straight into Luca's eyes with defiance crossing his face. " I don't care what you do to me but I'm not saying a fucking word" he shouted in a hoarse voice. He tried to spit on Luca's face but due to the distance between them the saliva landed on the floor.Luca stood up, circling his seat before coming to stand in front of him. "I've heard that line so many times from people like you but do you want to know what's funny?" He asked in a low, dangero
