Evelyn’s pov

I leaned against my car for a moment and my chest rose as I took a huge gulp of air, my eyes straight passed the trees to the cabin again.

“If it hurts so much, then why are you not running back to that cabin?” Alice my wolf asked in a whimper, I raked my fingers through my hair and bit down on my bottom lip.

“You know I can't do that, Alice…” I responded regretfully.

“Why not?!” She cried out desperately “... He's already proven to you that he's not the bad guy... when you even think about it long enough he's the victim here, isn't he?”

I grunted, “...that's why I'm letting him go, this is this is the only way to protect him at least for now,”

I grabbed the door of my car, got into the driver's seat, and slammed it shut. Alice didn't say anything more but continued to whimper in pain until I had to shut her out.
