Evelyn’s pov There was no response, I stood at his door with my question hanging in the air until I contemplated just leaving him for the night…I doubted if I was even ready for that conversation anyway. However, my feet were desperately planted to the ground. I needed to know the truth or at least hear from his side or I would lose my mind, so I called out again and there was still no response.Fortunately for me, his door was left open, perhaps he had just forgotten to lock it or something whatever the reason was I took advantage of it by gently opening the door and walking in.When I stepped in I understood why he had not responded all the while, he was lying down on his bed fast asleep, but he had not even bothered to cover himself with his duvet so I went over and helped him to do so gently pulling it up to his shoulders without waking him.I stared at his face as he slept, his expression looked troubled, was he having a nightmare? It Was very heavy. I just missed when everythi
Evelyn's povI gripped tightly to the fork that I was eating with, this witch…she pretended to be pretentiously worried about my relationship in front of my father, I sighed. That was not the only thing she was lying about. “Well we need to understand that he's from a different pack and of course, they do things a little differently there and it was an emergency he couldn't come back to say goodbye to every single person which is why I'm doing it instead,”She propped one of her elbows on the dining table waving it as if it was some kind of magical wand before saying out.“How do you feel about that? Honestly, as a husband, he should have found a way to at least clear his name properly before dashing off like that…”“Well it was an emergency,” I repeated again, my patience running thin. “Then when will he be back?” She asked with piqued curiosity and I was all but ready to climb across the table and yank her by her head. My father fortunately could see the tension building up and he
Evelyn's PovSo 3 days passed in the flash of an eye and I remained cooped up in my bed. I had the servants bring my breakfast, lunch, and supper to me in my room so I didn't step out even for a second. My father would worriedly drop by to ask me if all was well and I still answered him without opening the door that I was fine but I was feeling a little bit under the weather and I wanted to be alone. “Is it about that man?” He asked worriedly over the door. I shook my head, all this time caging myself in here I just tried to forget him but nothing was helping, nothing at all. “Father I told you that he just had to go and deal with some business it's nothing serious,”He was quiet for a while, I thought he was gone until he spoke again. Then as I pressed my ear attentively against the wooden door frame I heard his kind voice sipping through. “Well my dear, I've told you this before, if you need anybody to talk to I'm right here, I don't plan to go anywhere and you know that if you
Evelyn's pov I wobbled over to my car, swinging my keys with more confidence than I was supposed to have being this drunk, my legs were shaking like sticks battling to hold the weight of my entire body and my eyes danced from one direction to another before finally returning back to my car, and I was getting this gargling urge to throw up. Whatever makes they had in this bar was definitely effective, I definitely felt too wasted to think about him but at the same time, I couldn't fish out my car key from the bunch. My shaky fingers struggled with this for a couple of minutes until finally, it dropped from my hand to the other. It took a few more minutes of struggle before I was able to find it kneeling on the ground and scattering my fingers in a broad circle until I finally touched the cold metal. “This is ridiculous…” I said to myself.I was a princess struggling with something so basic, I felt embarrassed and foolish for even coming to this bar and getting this drunk, the groun
Evelyn's povIt always of a couple of seconds and my father was already at the door, he ushered me in and he could understand the signal in my eyes that I didn't want the other person that was next to me to follow in as well, so he quickly came and casually blocked the entrance to his office when his stepson was actually trying to make an attempt to come in. “Kelvin, I'm sorry but if you want to speak to me you will have to come another time,”. From over his shoulder, I could see this disappointment that was written all over his face. He really thought that he was going to step in with me. I guess he needed to be shut down like this because I was telling him he looked ridiculous and I could see his face getting red. “Oh, I can stand outside until you're done…” I rubbed my fingers against my forehead at this point. This guy could not really read a hint even when it was thrown right at his face. Even my father, who was usually a fountain of patience, was not like that to him today.
Evelyn's pov I was about to leave when my father called me back and he told me that he had some questions for me as well and I felt my body tense up. I reluctantly agreed and turned around hoping that he would not ask me any questions that would put me in a tough position. I was hoping to confront him to get him to tell the truth if that was really the truth.Just before my father could say anything the door was plastered open by one of the guards and he looked at him with surprise, the guard was sweating as he related that there was a commotion in front of the mansion, that a huge crowd of people had gathered in and he could not tell the reason why but in case it was a violent one we had to be protected. I furrowed my eyebrows with annoyance.“What are you talking about? If there is an issue then I'm supposed to be there to deal with it, don't worry Father there shouldn't be a reason for a mob outside, so I'm going to just check, I'm sure it's nothing violent,”My father ran his fi
Evelyn's pov My eyes immediately widened with shock and I shook my head to shun away from such a terrible suggestion and besides I didn't know what she was really capable of or if she was just lying and I didn't care. “I'm already married to him, I'm sure that gives us as much compatibility as possible. We have been married for a while and there have been no issues,” She looked at me spreading her hands across the table that she had placed on the street. Her face appeared to be so amused as if she was about to burst into laughter at any point in time, like I had just told her the funniest joke she had ever heard in her life.“Well where is he now?” her question felt like I was being grabbed by my throat, but I quickly adjusted myself and told her that it was none of her business where my husband was right now and I didn't have to explain anything to her. “So from what you are saying he's not with you right now?... Then perhaps he is with someone else…”I could feel my blood boilin
Evelyn's pov I couldn't believe what my ears were telling me, especially since the words were coming from somebody that I thought was my friend but was actually not my friend. It was someone who was just waiting for the perfect moment to betray me. Obviously, if she was working with Kian she couldn't have good intentions for me. “What do you mean that my relationship with him will bring doom?”I asked her interrogatively and she played the Palm on her head shaking from side to side saying that I should not doubt her prophecy, that she had never seen a score that was as bad as mine.“Not only will you make each other miserable but you will ruin the lives of other people. It will be so terrible and any fruits of that Union will be a curse to the world…”I wanted to brush away what she was saying but then the doubt in my heart started to grow. Truly if he had stayed back and my father found out everything he would have been hunted down and in the situation where he most likely survived
