Chapter 10 : The Hidden Pills

Vivian?" Olivia Blake gave a light smile; her eyes, however, signalled her to stop speaking.

 After all, it was a wound she had hoped not to reopen.

Vivian Kane helplessly stared at Olivia Blake and refrained from continuing the same conversation.

Olivia Blake settled Vivian Kane in the house she had found for her ahead of time and returned.

She had to arrive at the Cross mansion before dark. As soon as she entered the Cross's mansion, she heard Nathaniel's inquisitive voice as expected. 

"Where did you go?" 

Nathaniel Cross asked unsatisfactorily as he stood at the entrance of the Cross mansion, watching Olivia Blake rush there, "Grandpa and Dad are already waiting inside!"

Olivia Blake looked up at Nathaniel Cross, remembering the arrogant face of Olivia standing in front of her own, and said darkly,

 "A woman carrying your child took up my time, and that's why I am late!"

"What did you say? A woman carrying my child?"

Nathaniel Cross stared at Olivia Blake with a threatening gaze, half narrowing his eyes, 

"Haha, you believed that? Or are you jealous?"

Olivia Blake smiled lightly and replied nonchalantly:

"Mr Cross, rest assured, even if your illegitimate child roams around the capital, I wouldn't be jealous. It would save me from being questioned about having children every time I visit your home. You can just bring her home to prove it!"

"Are you on birth control pills?"

"What?" Olivia Blake was caught off guard by Nathaniel Cross's question.

"Is it that you're not having a child because you're taking pills every time we're together!" 

His deep eyes suddenly cold and intimidating, like a released beast fixed on its bloody prey.

Being stared at by him in such a manner, Olivia Blake started evading his gaze.

"Me?"

"Young master, young mistress? The master has already been waiting inside!" 

The housekeeper walked out and addressed them at this moment.

As if receiving salvation, Olivia Blake hastily walked towards the interior, but couldn't shake off the feeling of a pair of hot eyes burning into her back.

"Olivia is here?" 

Cross Joshua smiled faintly, signalling her to sit next to him and his grandfather.

"Dad, Grandpa!" The reason the Cross family treated her so well was largely because of the relationship with Cross Joshua and Grandpa.

Since she entered the Cross family, they treated her exceptionally well. Even if Nathaniel Cross was not kind to her, or didn't like her, it didn't change their good treatment towards her!

"Why did you lose weight again?"

 Grandpa Cross reluctantly asked, lifting his gaze to glare at the approaching Nathaniel Cross,

 "How have you been taking care of Qianer?"

"Grandpa, I haven’t lost any weight; I’ve been jogging a lot lately!" 

Upon hearing Grandpa scolding Nathaniel Cross, Olivia Blake immediately intervened.

Every time Grandpa Cross spoke, Olivia Blake would step in. It used to be because she couldn't bear it, but now she wanted to avoid trouble.

"Grandpa, we are planning to have a child soon, so I’m exercising to get my body in shape, okay?" 

Nathaniel Cross surprisingly didn’t keep his usual silence but spoke up with a sentence that almost made Olivia Blake choke on her own saliva.

She raised her eyes in astonishment to glance at Nathaniel Cross. They seemed to have never discussed this topic before.

"Really? It's about time to have a child. You've been married for so long; it's time to have a baby!"

Grandpa said cheerfully, while Cross Joshua, although didn't say anything, also showed a satisfied smile.

He was always particularly pleased with Olivia Blake as his daughter-in-law. He also thought they should have a child sooner, to help settle Nathaniel Cross's heart earlier.

Olivia Blake remains speechless as everything seems to be a whole lot of drama to her. A child, for who exactly? She thought to herself.

Well, her family planning method hasn't failed her. She uses birth control pills, so she has no cause to worry. She always does a pregnancy test every month to ensure she doesn't get pregnant from the beast that called himself husband.

She was shocked when Nathaniel Cross mentioned it earlier. There is no way he could have known about it because the pill is being kept inside their wedding picture frame in the living room.

“Olivia, I hope that by the next time we have dinner together, you'll look more elegant—glowing with the pregnancy of my grandchild," Grandma said with a smile.

“Grandpa, it is not ‘grandchild’ but ‘grandchildren’ because she is giving birth to a triplet.” Nathaniel said mockingly. They all laughed.

Olivia merely forced herself to give a fake smile as anger ran through her veins. 

She managed to finish dining with them before she retired into her bedroom after the visitors had left.

After taking a shower, she was about to dress up when she heard a knock on the door. No other person than Nathaniel. She carefully opened the door for him to come in.

“Yes, anything the matter?” Olivia Blakes asked with a stern face; she was standing close to the door and ready to shut it back after his departure.

 “Are you here for your usual rape”? 

Nathaniel was ready to give her an answer after lustfully staring at her half-naked body for a few minutes.

“I can see you are longing for more. Well, you haven't told me…….”

Suddenly, his phone rang. He looked at the screen of the phone before he hurried out of Olivia Blake's room.
