Chapter two: Nolan

Japan

Nolan's Pov

   It's been four years. Grandma shipped me off to Japan, dad killed mom , I have no idea what  became of my brothers. Grandma said she fixed everything, she is the most kind hearted human I know. Her only sin is giving birth to dad. Now, she wants me to return to Icarus Falls. I'm pretty sure she's up to something. She didn't tell me what it is and I didn't ask.  The one person I'm scared of seeing is Isa.

    Even though I miss her so much, she hates me. I don't think she'll want to see me. I broke her heart. I didn't want to, but I had no choice. I had to follow dad's command. I couldn't let anything happen to mom. Sometimes, I wonder how unfortunate she is to have fallen in love with a man like my father.

       Flashback

   "Mom!" Nolan called out to his mother as he couldn't see her because the room was pitch black. Ryan had been keeping her in an underground cellar for eight years. No one knew she was there, untill Nolan found her. "My baby", Serena responded as she sobbed profusely.  "Don't worry mom,  I'll save you", Nolan said as he tried his best to find her.  " "There's nothing you can do Nolan, If your father comes back and doesn't find me here, he's gonna hurt you." Serena said as she continued to cry. "I sold my freedom for you guys."

   "Don't worry Mom," Nolan said as he fought back his tears. He found the light switch and turned it on.  "I'm gonna call the police, they're gonna arrest dad and... He stopped when he saw his mom, in chains like a criminal with blood all over her dress.

     Nolan fell on his knees, he couldn't say a word. He didn't even know what to say. His dad is a monster. He felt sorry for his mom, he wished there was something he could do.

     "You can't tell anyone about me , if you do, dad's gonna do something bad." Serena said as she finally stopped crying. "Where's Niall?, she inquired.

    "Niall got really sick, he's always in the hospital."

Nolan replied as he hiccuped. "What happened to him?" Serena asked with a hint of fear in her tone. She knew what her husband was capable of.

    "I don't know, dad never told me anything." Nolan replied.  "What of Norman?" Serena asked.   "Who's Norman?" Nolan asked as he never heard the name before.  " Norman, your brother." Serena replied.

   " I have another brother?" Nolan asked. "You guys are triplets, Norman is the youngest." Serena said.

   "Dad never told me I had another brother." Nolan told his mom as he wondered if she was hallucinating."

      Suddenly, Ryan entered. When he saw Nolan in  the room, he was happy and he laughed.  "I knew you'd find her, it was only a matter of time." Ryan said as he walked towards them.  "I'm not afraid of you." Nolan said as he stood in front of Serena.

    "I know that. It's why you're my favorite." Ryan replied.  Nolan hugged Serena tightly and said to her: " Mom, I'll save you. I will come back for you, I promise." Serena tightened the hug.

     "Take him away." Ryan said and two men dressed in black tuxedos took Nolan away.

            End of flashback.

     " Hey!" Haru said as he stood behind me. He's the only friend I made in this school. He's the one person that understands me. "You scared me", Nolan replied.  "I remember the day we met. It was on this rooftop. You were feeling sorry for your actions after beating someone up. He couldn't walk for weeks." Haru said as he placed his hands on Nolan's shoulders. " I was amazed and I knew instantly that you were my soulmate. Why were you late?" Haru asked as he pursed his lips.

  " I'm sorry my dad wasn't arrested sooner." Nolan said and looked away. "Hey, I didn't mean it like that ", Haru responded and Nolan sighed.

     " So, what did Grandma say? Does she want you to come back?" Haru asked out of curiosity and concern. Mostly concern.  Nolan sighed again. Haru knew what his sigh meant.

    " I guess I have to go pack my things then. I really hate packing", Haru complained.  "Are you going somewhere?" Nolan asked because Haru didn't tell him he was going anywhere. "Yeah" Haru replied.      

    " Where are you going" Nolan asked. " Icarus Falls", Haru replied. " I miss Nolan 2.0. He's much more smarter." Haru added. " Hey!" Nolan yelled. Haru walked away and Nolan followed him.

          Haru's House

    Haru's sister Hitomi saw Nolan and shook her head. Nolan gulped a glass of water and asked "Is something wrong?"

   "How are you guys still friends?" Hitomi asked. " Hey", Haru replied" I'm a great guy." Hitomi scoffed, " Of course you are." 

    "Anyways, Mom, dad I have an announcement." Haru said.  "Kill me", Hitomi mumbled.  " What is it son?, Haru's mom asked."

    "Since I plan to go to college in America, I think it'll be better if I finish highschool there." Haru said trying to read his mom's facial expressions."

    "Okay", his mom said. Haru was relieved, so was Hitomi but they knew they needed Dad's approval.

    "Honey, what do you think?" Haru's mom asked his dad. " Let him do whatever he wants" Mr Enami replied as he typed away on his laptop.

     "Yes!" Haru and Hitomi yelled. " Why are you happy? ", Haru asked.  " With you in America, I'll have mom and dad to myself, it's a win-win." Hitomi replied.

   Nolan exhaled, at least he won't be alone. Haru's coming with him. Haru is the greatest thing that ever happened to him since Isa. Nolan excused himself and called his Grandma.  "When's my flight?" Nolan asked.  " Your flight's at dawn. I'm surprised you don't have any conditions." Grandma replied. " I'm coming with a friend." Nolan replied and ended the call. Haru came out and saw Nolan looking at the stars.

     " When's our flight", Haru asked. " Dawn", Nolan replied.  "Everything's gonna be fine. Trust me" Haru said. Nolan sighed and kept looking at the stars.

  "I really want to fall in love." Haru said when he saw a shooting star.
