They told me not to think about him too much. Because that would only make me sad.But I do. I do think about him every single day.I think about the slight scattering of freckles on his nutmeg skin. A name which has always been fit for a man like him.But most of all, I think about his eyes and their peculiar shade of grey. I had never seen eyes that shade before I met him.For some reason, they remind me of the moon. Especially when he stood in different lights. I'd like to think his eyes also reflected his moods.Did you know that when an eclipse happens, there are two shadows cast? The first is called the umbra and it gets smaller as it goes away from the sun. The second shadow is called the penumbra and it gets larger as it goes away from the sun.I used to think Roman was as beautiful as the moon. But I never looked at him during an eclipse. “Crystal!” I heard Hazel whine. “Whaat?” I moaned in irritation refusing to open my eyes.”Your alarm!”“Huh?”“Your alarm is ruining my beauty sleep!” Hazel screamed. I shot up from my make shift bed on the floor of Hazel’s way too yellow room.Of course, my alarm!Because apparently now, I had to be at school four whole hours before everyone else. And not to mention it wasn’t the most comfortable place to spend your night. I could have shared Hazel’s bed but I wasn’t about to get bitten or clawed in the middle of the night by an adolescent wolf.”You know you could just tell mummy what Kat did.” Hazel spoke with a yawn. I learnt two things from my first morning session for the AAP;1) I am not fast.2) I am not strong.Two things I was actually quite aware of before actually. I’ve never been the athletic type.But I was always decent enough to not get picked last in gym class. Well that was before I came to Woodfell and started at Silvercrest Academy where their P.E felt like I had gone to military school.And those were just the regular classes.Kat took the more advanced physical classes. There was Class I, which I was in, the rookie class. Class II, Class III, which I guess you could call junior varsity and the best of the best, Class IV, Kat’s class.The second portion of the training session had been to test our strength and while all the other candidates did more than the bare minimum, I was left in complete humiliation as I struggled with the challenges Major Raphael offered.If Instructor May hadn’t been so patient with me, I had a feeling Major Raphael would have kicked me out of that gym.A
