Sophia's POV
"Need help?" A voice asked startling Sophia. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. You just seemed lost." The red-haired apologized. "No, uhm, I mean yes I do need help." 'Dammit Sophia, why are you stuttering?' She smiled shyly at the red-haired whose name she is yet to know. "Awesome then. It would have been so awkward if you didn't need help." The red-haired girl laughed. "Oh... Uhm... My class, I don't know where to go." Sophia told her as she passed her timetable over. "Geography. How perfect. I have the same class too. Come on, let's walk together. And I am Skylar Liam by the way." Skylar stretched her hand to her. "Sophia... My name is Sophia... Uhm Sophia Adalee James." Skylar chuckled as she thought of her as cute. Her little stuttering was fun and cute. "Nice to meet you Sophia." Skylar grinned before pulling Sophia with her as they both walked down the hall. Skylar asked so many questions, including her age, what allergy she has, any health challenges she should look out for, and what sport she liked best. Sophia tried her best to answer all the questions as she wondered how someone could be such a chatterbox. "Oh, don't mind me. I asked all the questions without giving you a chance to ask me any. Maybe during lunch, I will be sitting with you." Skylar smiled as she walked into a class, Sophia silently walled in after her and immediately went to sit at the back. Thinking of how lively and outgoing Skylar was, Sophia did not want to be around her. 'She must be friends with the whole school's She thought to herself. Skylar turned around only to see her companion walking towards the back seats. She followed after her. "So a back sitter." Skylar teased as she sat beside Sophia. 'So much for staying away from her.' She knew she couldn't change her sit now as that will definitely hurt the lady. "Yes, I prefer being at a place no one will notice me." Sophia told her hoping she would take the hint and go away. Sitting with her will attract others attention. "Really? I honestly think people's character should be considered when we are getting created. I mean with a face like yours, you will surely be noticed." Skylar chuckled with no intention of leaving her sit. "And besides, except they do not come to school today, you will be noticed, very much so." Skylar grinned. "Who?" Sophia asked. The tone in which Skylar had used got her curious. "There is this group of walking sexiness, think of the sexiest actor you know, well someone hotter is in fact group. I personally change my crush every day. And that is not just me, almost all the girls here crush on them. And guess where they sit." Skylar winked at Sophia who quietly stood up from where she was seated and went to sit at the window side. Skylar who also stood up to go sit beside Sophia had missed the hateful glare that came from some of the females in the class. Soon students began to walk into the room, soon the once almost empty class was now filled with students who chattered and hugged their friends. "Alright students, get to your seats!" A middle aged man walked into the class, Sophia's heart skipped as she had never seen any man his age who looked that good. When the students had come in, she had wondered what some of them were doing here and not at a model school. They should be models, to think not only were the students beautiful, the teacher before her too was absolutely good looking. "Don't drool yet, when you see the guys I talked about, you might flood the class." Skylar leaned in as she teased her in a hushed tone. Her words which she had whispered though got some students chuckling. This caused Sophia to wonder what was funny but seeing how the hot teacher's gaze had fallen on her, she quickly looked down shyly. The class door once again opened... "I feel you girl." Skylar told Sophia happy she was not the only one looking at the new addition as though she was lost. 'Why is he looking this way?' I hadn't expected our gaze to meet. The way his eyes had stayed on me felt weird and it made me want to go closer to him. The strange feeling had me looking away as I looked down. 'He is good looking so what?! Ok maybe more good looking than the regular good looking I know but that shouldn't make me this way right?' I bit my lips while clenching my fist. The strong urge to look for him, to watch him scared me. This is not normal!!! "I feel you girl." Skylar spoke again grinning. "Let's concentrate." Ok why am I angry? Why do I hate the fact that she is just as attracted to him as I am? Why is the class not over yet?! "So I see we have a new student, could you come up here and introduce yourself?" Sophia tensed hearing the teacher's words. She felt like crying. Not only is her head and body acting weird, this man just had to bring her out to become everyone's focus. She could feel everyone's gaze on her as she walked to the front. 'It will be over soon.' She kept on chanting that in her head as she walked towards the teacher. She turned to face her new classmates and weirdly enough, her eyes as though they were magnetized caught his piercing ones. Her heart skipped. Clearing her throat, Sophia once more forced herself to look away. "Hello, I am Sophia Adalee James. I am your new classmate."ALEXIOS POV "Hello, I am Sophia Adalee James. I am your new classmate." 'Sophia Adalee. My mates's name is Sophia Adalee.' "How old are you?" Wyatt's hands instantly fell on my knee as I forced myself to not growl. How dare a male ask my mate such a question in a flirty tone?! "You can't. You will scare her." I heard his voice in my head. Indeed, she is human. Fuck!!! "I clocked seventeen on February 16th." Sophia answered. "She is older than you are." Hearing Owen's amused voice in my head had me scowling while the other two smiled. "We are of the same age!" I defended. "Yes you both are, except your birthday is not until May. Doesn't this mean she is three months older than you are?" Owen gasped while I felt like punching him. "Three months and some days. His birthday is not May 16th but May 25th." Caius added, his tone even more annoying than Owen's. Wyatt looked like he was enjoying a show. "You all should find your way home!" I huffed. Sophia looked relieved as she
Sophia's POV "I am overthinking it right?" Skylar asked again as she gave me a nudge. "Yes you are. I do not even know them until this morning." I had accepted the fact that I can't shake her off. "Wyatt never ask questions in class, but he asked you about your relationship status. That doesn't happen like ever!" Sophia took a quick glance around only to notice hateful glares that were directed at her from a certain table. "Can you please lower your voice? And I don't know about that okay. I don't know them, never met them until today so how should I know why he asked me a question when he never ask?" Sophia felt drained. Skylar has been asking her this since their first class and now, she still wouldn't stop. "I don't know Sophia. Could it be love at first sight? I mean, recall when they had all walked into the class, they were looking our way. Boys who never stop to give anyone or anything a second glance all stopped and looked our way. Then Wyatt asked you a question. Oh, coin
"Hi, I was just thinking of going to find you." Owen had waved at Sophia as soon as she went into the class. She had to walk toward where they were all seated. "Sorry, I had something to do." She blinked noticing the position of the seat kept for her. She was meant to sit in between Owen and the guy whom she has been unable to rid herself of thinking about. "Where are my manners? Sophia, meet Wyatt, Caius, and Alexios." Wyatt is the blonde curled haired guy who had asked me a question. Caius is the brown haired one, and Alexios. 'Even his name sound so good.' "Guys Sophia." Owen smiled showing his cute dimples. A feature of him that I found myself admiring. I just wished he kept on smiling. "Nice you meet you Sophia." Wyatt and Caius spoke smiling at me. "It is my great pleasure to meet you Sophia." The way his eyes stayed on mine, his tone, everything about him made me feel like there was something else, another meaning in his words. I stared back at him, his green eyes pullin
Alexios POV "Hi dad." I greeted him as I went into his office. I had an idea of why he might have asked me here. "How was school today?" I nodded as I fought the urge to smile. The thought of my mate being in the same school as me had me smiling all day. She unfortunately can not feel the bond between us, or maybe she felt it but she couldn't understand what it was. "Fine, but kinda frustrating." I confessed. It was a torturous and frustrating day, having watched Owen achieve becoming her friend had me jealous. I should have been the one getting close to her. But the fear of me not being able to control Erskine had me holding back from wanting to be too close. The enticing scent coming off from her had me drunk, I wanted nothing but to put my nose in her body and sniff her in. "Frustrating? Never thought you knew that word son." Dad teased as he stared at me. It was obvious he was concerned. "Why am I here?" I asked. "What is your opinion of the human girl? Do you think they m
Sophia's POV "Dad, can I request to have my classes changed?" The last two days have been torture. Having to attend the same classes as him all year is not something I am looking forward to. "You want to do that? Why?" Dad asked as a small frown came on his face. "I just don't like the class arrangements." If I continued to attend class with them then I might as well fail the year. Not only can I not concentrate in class, I hate how my body gets goosebumps whenever he entered the room. The obvious whispers of our classmates too, for someone who hates being in the spotlight, I get stared at too much. "Was your mom's worries true? Are you being bullied in class?" Dad asked turning to me and giving me his full attention. I knew asking this would have them acting dramatic. "No I am not being bullied. My class arrangement just makes concentrating hard. I have days where I have Mathematics just immediately after physics, then I have gym next. My head might as well burst one of these
Alexios POV 'She feels uncomfortable with us!' Listening on her conversation with her friend had left my mood sour. Mom was right, she would want to stop seeing me, was I that much of a nuisance to her? Was I truly a fly? "Should I go over?" Owen asked through the mind link. Shaking his head, "No." If they were to try and stop her, she will only want to go farther away from him. "Then should we reschedule..." Caius kept quiet seeing the reaction from the others. 'Wouldn't rescheduling our classes to be the same as hers make her run?' Alexios hated how helpless he was feeling. All weekend, he had thought of ways to get her into liking him more than a friend, to get her to one day be his. He hadn't expected her to act first. "Who hurt the friend and why? I want to know it all." From their conversation earlier, the friend had been in some sort of trouble and Sophia seem to blame herself and her friendship with them as the cause of her friend's encounter. "I am on it." Owen res
Alexios POV I was uncertain whether I am to punish Owen for going against my order or to reward him for making her promise to sit with us. "When will you be sorting out the issue with that bit*h?" Caius asked through the mind link and I too looked at Wyatt. He had promised to resolve this earlier. "After school today. I will sort it out." Once more he vowed looking straight at me. I glanced in the direction of the ladies whose bones my wolf wish to break into pieces. Kierie who must have been watching me quickly looked away. Kierie is the youngest child and only daughter of Captain Perrie. A trusted and loyal subject of the pack, Kierie had once confessed her feelings to me through a note I found in my locker. Knowing she is friends with Vivian made me disappointed. Captain Perrie does not deserve such a foolish daughter. "Don't kill them." I told Wyatt who smirked in response. I have no idea how he intends to deal with the situation but I do not want a situation whereby I wi
Sophia's POV "So, do you want to hang out with us tomorrow?" Owen asked and I shrugged nodding. It won't hurt to meet them outside of school and get to know them better. "This weekend? What day are you thinking?" Skylar asked. "Tomorrow will be the best, that way we can do our homework and prepare for school on Sunday," Owen replied. Indeed, Saturday will be the best time to just have fun. "I can't make it then. My aunt gave birth and I promised to visit her tomorrow." She looked apologetic. "We won't miss you." Owen told her chuckling. "Oh shut up." Skylar glared at him. "What time tomorrow are you thinking?" I asked and he shrugged. "I will text you the time and location." Sophia nodded as she tried to calm her giddy heart. Although the other boys always sit apart from them during lunch, she had become closer to them these past few days, and she couldn't help but be excited to know she might get the chance to know them even better this weekend. "It is a date then." Owen
Skylar's POV Two days ago my only friend left and ever since I haven't been able to reach either her or her mom. And today, as I walk to the cafeteria, I forced myself to not cry. I am back to being the loner, I am not boring, and I am not a bad person either, but weirdly enough, people seem to stay away from me. They seem to be uninterested in getting to know me. When Sophia had first resumed, seeing her wear that big sweater and being fidgety, I had approached her, and God when I saw her, I had thought she would be a bitch and walk away. She had both the face and the body to compare with the school hottest girl and she would have most likely won, yet that girl prefers to hide behind a big sweater. I wanted to unravel her, and when her relationship with Alex got serious, well she started loosening up. I was happy to see her happy, that in love. "Skylar, wait up. Hi." Caius called and I turned to see them all walking over. Since the tension, we are only seeing today for the
"Sophia." Skylar's sleepy voice called as she sat up."Oh Sophy, don't cry anymore please." She pleaded as she tried to wrap me in a hug. "Your dad will hate to see you like this."I showed her the pictures and her face showed immense anger. "This has to be photoshopped. He hates being this close to other ladies that isn't you." She said as she glared at the pictures."There is only one way to find out, I am going to him." I told her as I stood up and looked for something decent but casual to wear. Since he is not picking up my calls, then I will head over to his place."But it is risky out there Sophy." I know that, I knew that but I needed to go confirm this myself. Was he really going to be engaged to that lady soon? Why? Is he being forced into it? Was that what had bothered him all through his stay with me last night?Skylar heaved a sigh and got up, she insisted on following me. I knew if I went out through the main door, I would be stopped, so I climbed down my window after pic
"Dad you have got to stop talking, you need every bit of strength you can muster to fight this. And besides you are scaring me." I cried as I pleaded but his weak eyes just stared back at me. 'How can he still be trying to smile?'"Sweetheart, promise me you will leave here. It will hurt but you have to endure the pain and leave. When he is stronger, when he can protect you, or when and if you finally can meet that part of you you are yet to meet, then maybe you can come back of you are strong enough. I don't want you to become a pawn in the battle of strength. Please promise me." I cried even more hearing his plea."I promise dad, I promise." He nodded as he looked visibly relieved. Mom pushed the door as she walked in, her eyes red. 'Was she crying? What did the doctor tell her?' I stood silently as I couldn't bring myself to ask her questions and I just watched her walked over and held dad's hands."You are so cruel." She told him and dad chuckled weakly."I am glad I get to live
"I need to see my dad. I have to see him." I pleaded wanting to leave his hold but Owen's strength was one I couldn't pull out of."You will have to wait until your mom is out." The nurse said in what she most likely thinks is a comforting voice."Come with me sweetheart, you will need to wear some special clothing before you can go in there." Mom who had been inside said. Her eyes were red, she has obviously been crying. "While you are with your dad, I will go talk to the doctor." I nodded ."How is he mom?" I asked her crying. "I don't know. Hence why I need to go talk to a doctor." Mom's voice was breaking which only added to my fear. 'How could a wolf attack him? He didn't go to a jungle, he was dri ing home to us! What happened?' I had so many questions with no one to answer them. I was given some sort of a disposable jumpsuit to wear and some disposable cap to use. After dressing up, the staff led me back to dad's ward, while mom went looking for the doctor.Owen was still th
I woke up to an empty bed, 'Where is he?' I wondered as I listened thinking maybe he was in the bathroom, but no matter how long I listened, there was no sound coming out from the bathroom.I stepped out of the room and found mom eating an apple. "Good morning mom." I greeted her with a smile."Good morning princess. How was your night?" She asked winking and I blushed."Good mom, it was good." Looking around, "Mom where is Alexios?" I asked her."He left quite early this morning, he said something came up and he needed to go. He had asked me to tell you as he didn't want to wake you up." I nodded biting my lips.'Hopefully everything is alright with him.' I knew there was more to what he had told me last night, but since he wasn't willing to share much, I decided to trust and wait for him."What is for breakfast?" I asked walking into the kitchen."Cereals." I hummed as I went to pour some for myself. "Your dad will be back later today." Mom informed me and I grinned. 'I have missed
Sophia's POV"So?" Although Alexios asked, I felt like he already knew the answer. The small smile playing on his lips, and the mischievousness of his gaze made me curious."Did you hear I and mom's talk?" I asked him. The possibility of him learning us is low, I had left him in the living room and moreover, when I went into mom's room, I had shut the door after myself."Why? Was I meant to hear something?" He is lying. Alexios is an awful liar. When he lies, he avoids eye contact, he would always looks anywhere else but at me, at my eyes, and he tends to stammer a little when he lies.I decided to ignore it, as calling him out on his lie would only further embarrass me since I know he was eavesdropping on our embarrassing conversation. 'Mom really needs to stop.' I thought to myself as I bit my lips.Pushing the embarrassment to the back of my mind, I went forward and held his hand as we both walked to my room. "I doubt I have a suitable pajamas here that you can use." I spoke as
Sophia's POVIt was already 9 PM and mom had done her rounds with locking up. Since dad traveled, we would always make sure we locked the doors early to avoid any intruder from coming in, but since we were mostly in all day, mom still felt the need to reconfirm that all the doors have been locked. While we sat in the living room watching a series together, we heard a knock. "Who could be at the door at this hour?" Mom asked and I shrugged. I wasn't expecting anyone to visit. It can't be him right? It is late already..."Could it be him?" I asked, and I got my response when we heard his voice."It is me, Alexios. Please open the door." His voice had me sprinting toward the door as I pulled it open to let him inside."Hey baby." He whispered as he looked at me smiling. I hugged him, I felt like he needed a hug. Although he was smiling, he looked unhappy, sad."I am glad to see you alright Alex. I am going to give you kids some privacy but don't go making kids in my absence." Said mom w
Allison POV "They are here." Announced a pack member as we all watched their cars drive in. 'They are home and nothing else matters.' I thought to myself as I watched their car pull over.Sobs from some pack members could be heard as the corpse of the falling heroes were brought out. Their remains are proof of how ruthless those rogues were. Swallowing, I moved forward to open the car in which my husband and Alpha is in."Hey baby." I greeted him as I took him in. His left leg was wrapped up from above the knee down to his toes. I swallowed back my tears once more."Thank you for coming back to me." I mind linked him. I knew saying that out loud would have made some pack members frown at me. Some had lost families, lost friends, lost their mates, in this fight. The pack has lost some really good members so if they heard my selfish remark, they would definitely not be happy about it, not when they are in such pain."The need to see your lovely face had been the only reason I fought ha
Sophia's POV The continuous ringing of my phone had woken me up. The thought that the caller might be Alexios had me awake almost immediately. "Hi." I hated how disappointed my voice had sounded."Hey... How are you doing? I called twice earlier but your mom said you were sleeping." Skylar sounded concerned and worried which only made me feel even worse.l for being disappointed that she was my caller."Yeah. I was stressed so I slept it off." I hadn't realized how long I had slept for not until I looked at my phone. How on Earth was I able to sleep for four long hours?!"As long as you are okay." Skylar said, the worry in her voice reducing. "I am okay I promise. So what about you? How are you doing?" I have to be the worst friend in existence. I had totally forgotten to check in on Skylar, all I had in mind all day was Alexios. "I am doing well. We had been all worried earlier when dad left for work only to come back with news that something strange was happening. It was crazy b
