Chapter 1 - Athena

I walked to school with my head down. I didn't dare look up once. School was something I despised. It wasn't the school itself but more the people of the school.

I've been bullied for most of my life thanks to the all mighty alpha Nicholas. He was the reason people even bully me in the first place.

I hate him. I hope he will never find his mate so she won't hve to suffer although I think he'd treat her really fucking well.

"Well, well, well. Who do we have here?" the voice I despised the most said from behind me.

Fear was the only thing I was feeling right now. I hated it.

I didn't turn around, not wanting to see his face. But that didn't last long. He and his two friends had walked in front of me.

Suddenly the bell rang, saving me from the monster. I sighed in relief as I watched them walk away. Thank god.

School was fine for the rest of the day. I avoided Nicholas and his little gang like my life depended on it -it probably did- so I didn't see him today.

I put on my uniform and walked out to the counter.

This job didn't pay well but it was the best I could've gotten so it was fine. No one wanted to hire anyone like me but the owner of this shop had been nice enough to let me work here.

The pay was just enough to cover the rent, the bills plus the food. The school that I go to is owned by the pack so I didn't have to worry about that paying anything there.

"Welcome to Sandfields coffee, what can I get you?" I asked putting on my cheery voice.

"Just a black coffee, thanks" the customers that weren't in the pack treated me normally but the pack members treat me like dirt under their shoes.

They town had two sides; the side that the werewolves live in and the side where the humans live, neither sides crossing the other.

The shop was about in the middle so both werewolves and humans came here.

"Of course" I said and went to the back to make the coffee. Simple orders like coffee or some pastry that was already made, could be given immediately.

"Here you go. Would you like to pay with cash or card?" I asked, setting the cup of coffee on the counter.

"A card" he said mand swiped his card through the card reader.

"Thank you, sir. Enjoy your coffee" I said.

As he left, the next customer came. I lifted my head, seeing the one person I had wished I wouldn't see here. He had never come here before so it really shocked me.

I cleared my throat before speaking "Welcome to Sandfields coffee, what can I get you?" I asked him.

He looked at the menu for a second before eplying with a smirk "An espresso, a black coffee and a latte."

"Of course. You can go sit at a table, the drinks will be brough to you whe they're done.

He left without saying another word. The shop wasn't too crowded so I was able to make the drinks.

Once the drinks were done, I picked them up and brought them to the table they sat at.

"A latte, espresso and black coffee" I said, putting them on the table, hoping I got the right cup to whoever it belonged to.

As I was setting the last drink down, Nicholas's had "slipped" making the cup of coffee drop on the floor. Some spilled on my arms and shirt but most on the floor.

"Oops, I'm so clumsy today" he said smirking.

I suppressed my screams and calmly left the situation but once I was out of their vision, I quickly got out of my burning hot shirt.

I went over to the sink and put it to as cold as possible.
