Chapter 1

Rachelle let those tears out as she was laid on the operating table, her thighs were spread wide exposing her to harsh reality. Sweats dampened on her face as she whimpered inaudibly.

"Rachelle, don't move," The doctor said, his voice sharp and firm. "The procedure is almost over, the more you cry, the more your body moves so stop crying,"

The nurses around, their eyes never left Rachelle's body. Wondering why a woman will be forced to terminate her pregnancy and there was a hint of frustration in their eyes due to the fact that Rachelle was not calm.

Rachelle gripped the edge of the operating table, wailing loudly in pains and discomfort. Something she had never experienced, and the fresh pain of their betrayal made it hard for her to make the doctor terminate the pregnancy.

The procedure room's glass door swung open, and a commanding figure entered the room, her firm voice ordering everyone to leave. It was a voice Rachelle could recognize anywhere at any time. Laura, her fake sister, a woman with a sinister heart that stole Rachelle's position.

Rachelle is her shadow and she's Rachelle's hell. The master of manipulator watched the medical staff leave as she took a hold of a scalpel.

Morgen  approached Rachelle, her eyes glinting in malice. She used her expensive phone to hit Rachelle's thighs, closing her thighs as she let out a loud painful groan.

"Ahhh!"

"You don't deserve to be a mother so you should think about that before you get pregnant," Morgen  uttered, her voice dripping with disdain.

Rachelle breathes slowly as she knows she's at the mercy of her sinister fake sister that wouldn't take her a minute to end her life in this operating room and get away with it. She nodded as she felt her body manipulated as if she was losing herself.

"You are a wretched woman who can't terminate a simple pregnancy. Rachelle, you are my shadow and you know I love you. Mother said, "if you want her love back, you need to help me with something," Morgen  whispered, and Rachelle's eyes glinted in desperation of love.

"I'll do anything,"

"Good girl, terminate this pregnancy first then we talk about it," Rachelle complied, and Morgen  called back the medical staff to eliminate the baby. It was agonizing but she had to endure it to earn her mother's love and attention she hasn't earned ever since she got back with her mom five years ago .

When it was over. The medical staff cleaned Rachelle's work and took her to a private ward to heal better. As soon as they left, Rachelle turned her eyes to Laura, desperate to hear the condition.

"Tell the world that you were the one that took the bribes and brought in fake investors to the company without my knowledge and you have been doing that since you got back with your mother five years ago. Also, don't forget to add that to commit your crimes, you went in search of your mother," Morgen  muttered, and Rachelle's eyes widened in horror. She knows her sister is ruthless but never she's so ruthless to ruin her life just to save her life in front of others, particularly her parents.

Rachelle's eyes welled with tears as she thought about the baby she just terminated, she was supposed to be a mother.

"I - I - I'm lost, Laura. I don't understand everything," Rachelle stuttered, her voice shaky.

"It's very simple, you will take the fall for my mistakes and no one would know about it apart from me, and mom. Don't you want your mother's love? Come on, Rachelle" Morgen  said, sweetness dripped from her voice but behind those sweetness lies a lace of venom.

Rachelle felt her life in the hands of her sister. Morgen has control over her life and just a slight mistake, Morgen can ruin her chance of earning her mother's love.

"B-Bu-But I didn't do it, Laura. I'm a full time housewife so can I be responsible for something like that" Rachelle protested.

"You don't have a say in this, Rachelle. Will you do it or not?" Laura's eyes narrowed, as Rachelle's eyes grew misty.

Now she's corned, and coerced.

"I-I-I will do it," Rachelle said, her voice barely above a whisper. Morgen's face brightened up with a smile of triumph playing at the corners of her lip.

"Make the confession, and your place will be secured in your mother's heart," Morgen  said.

"Should I do it now?" Rachelle asked, her mind racing with how she would make a confession for a crime she wasn't aware of, something she did not know how it happened. She knew she was being manipulated by Morgen  but had no choice, she's just desperate to take her rightful position back from Laura.

"Dominion, will come and see you and tell you when you do it," Morgen   left and Rachelle shut her eyes, weeping silently.

As soon as Morgen left the ward, Dominion, Rachelle's husband, entered the room. "Have you agreed to do it?" He asked, laced with concern.

Rachelle gazed at her husband, weeping harder. "Do you know that I don't deserve this from you? Dominion, I caught you having an affair with my sister, did I shout at you? No but what you decided to use to pay me back is by forcing me to terminate my baby, my precious gem," Rachelle whimpered loudly.

"Dominion, how could you? How could you tell me to take a fall for a crime I didn't commit?" Rachelle questioned, her eyes and heart filled with pain.

"Rachelle, you have to do it, okay. I love Morgen   and I want to marry her so you have to take the blame. Morgen  must not be arrested,"

"Dominion," She called.

"The nurses will come and clean you and wheel you to the press conference I had prepared," Dominion said, in a cold demeanor and left the ward.

The nurses came and dressed Rachelle properly then placed her on a wheelchair as she was wheeled by Morgen to a hall in the hospital, where the conference will take place.

Rachelle felt like she was being wheeled to her own execution as tried hard not to cry before she got to the hall where the press conference will take place.

She got to the hall and was wheeled  to the front of the press as Morgen handed her mic. Dominion talked first before Rachelle.

"I want to thank Rachelle for coming out to confess her sins. She didn't want her innocent family to take a downfall for something they didn't commit. But however I can't condone her actions or allow her to tarnish the image of my family. I know nothing about her corruption so I have made a difficult decision to file for divorce and allow the police to conduct a full investigation on my ex-wife crime," Dominion said, and Rachelle shut her eyes tightly, holding onto the arm of the wheelchair tightly as her heart shattered, she felt it breaking into million pieces.

Rachelle began to confess to the corruption scandal as she whimpered silently. She felt the eyes of the reporters on her, as they blasted her with questions.

She felt the ground should open up and swallow her realizing the extent of Dominion betrayal.

Morgen wheeled Rachelle back to her ward amidst the clamor from the reporters.

Rachelle got back to her ward, and nurses hastily laid her back on the ward and changed her dress to the patient uniform.

"Rachelle, you did well. I'm proud of you and I'm sure mother will be proud of you too when she sees the news" Morgen  said, with sweetness.

"Will talk to mom for me, tell her I did what she asked me to do," Rachelle said, and Morgen  suddenly laughed.

"Mom, come on don't be silly. Mom is not aware of anything. You were just so gullible and vulnerable so I decided to use you to cover up my crime,"

Rachelle's eyes widened, as she realized she was not only manipulated by Morgen  but betrayed and used.

"You never had the intention to let me get closer to my mom, right?" Rachelle asked, her voice coming out in the form of a whisper.

Morgen  let out a humorless laugh. "Oh, Rachelle. You were always so naive. Did you really think I would let mom accept you back into the family, no, come on that's my position not yours"

Before Rachelle could respond, Morgen  nodded to one of the nurses, who approached Rachelle with a syringe in hand. As the needle pierced her skin, Rachelle felt dizziness washing over her.

She heard a faint familiar voice, her mother, Laura's voice. "Morgen, I'm proud of you that you made Rachelle confess to her crime. What an ungrateful child that does not deserve to live"

Rachelle's heart shattered further. Her vision began to blur, and her body grew heavy, but she clung to consciousness, her gaze locked on Morgen and Laura's triumphant faces. Why will her mother want her dead instead of wailing?

In her final moments, Rachelle felt a surge of anger and determination. She vowed that if she were ever reborn, she would seek revenge on those who had betrayed her, no matter the cost.
