Chapter 3

Rachelle left the bridal store, she knew she was going to face the consequences of her actions but doesn't mind as far as she's going to get the freedom and the revenge she wants.

She flagged down a taxi, and hopped inside the car as she told the taxi driver her home address and he started driving.

Rachelle dwells herself in thoughts as she wonders what her next line of action would be now that she has cut Dominion off from her life.

Soon, the taxi alighted in front of her home and Rachelle hopped out from the vehicle, paid the taxi driver and went inside the house.

As soon as she got inside, she was welcomed with a resounding slap on her cheek.  Her eyes met her mother's cold and raging eyes.

"Rachelle, what happened at the bridal store?," Laura questioned, anger shown in her voice.

She knew instantly that Dominion had informed her about what transpired in the bridal store.

"I ended my engagement with him. Mother, I won't marry Dominion, never!" She declared and Laura scoffed at her.

"So the best way you think you could reject him is by slapping him, embarrassing him in front of everyone"

"I only embarrassed him in front of the employees and truth to be told, he deserves it. Why the hell will he touch me, is he daft that he can't see that I don't want to marry him again by ruining the wedding dress," Rachelle fired at her mother, raising her voice.

"So that was why you slapped your fiancée. Rachelle, why are you like this! Why the hell are you bent on making my life miserable like yours!"

Those words stung her heart like a bee, and she scoffed seeing her mother's expression turning to rage.

"My life is miserable?" Rachelle repeated, in total disappointment.

"You won't ruin this family name. Rachelle, you will go and meet Dominion and apologize to him. He's a good man, and every woman out there is looking for an opportunity to have him and lucky for you, you saw one and want to discard it stupidly,"

"I'm not going back to him, mother. Dominion is not who you think he is, he doesn't love me" Rachelle protested but her protest fell dear ears, it was irritating to Laura.

"Rachelle, don't make a decision that you would regret. You can't make it on your own if you don't marry him, and I would never help you. You know that,"

"Mother, I'll make it on my own without your help and his help. Let me be free from your toxic grasp," Rachelle said.

She stood straight, looking into Laura's rage eyes with fierce, firm and determined eyes. "Mother, please I don't want to talk further," Rachelle said, and was about to leave when Laura dragged her back, dishing another round of slap on her cheek.

"How dare you try to walk out on me, you this ungrateful child. We gave you everything and is this how you want to pay us back??"

"Come on, mom, stop talking as if I'm a stranger in this house. I'm your biological daughter for crying out loud. Stop treating me as if I am an illegitimate child. I love you but you don't. You gave me nothing but a never ending pain, and manipulation. I'm done trying to please you because you are not ready to see my worth, I'm done being a pawn in your silly game," Rachelle yelped, as she burst out into a loud cry.

"You aren't grateful that I'm nice to you,"

Rachelle scoffed at her words. "Did you just say nice, no you are not. You are just pretending to be nice which is polluting the atmosphere," Rachelle said.

Laura’s face contorted with rage, "You are an ungrateful child! Do you know how hard I worked to secure this marriage for you, and now you are saying you are going to make it on your own, in my own house. Rachelle, you will marry him, or you'll be disowned!"

Morgen, who had been watching the heated arguments with malice, stood up. She is delighted to see pains in Rachelle's eyes and wants her to have prolonged neverending pains. She approached Rachelle, feigning concerns

"Rachelle, you know how much you love Dominion and mom loves you, Everyone can see it. Don't throw away your chance, he's a good man, and he cares for you deeply," Morgen said, her voice dripping with sympathy.

Rachelle gave Morgen a glance then scoffed as she could see through her pretense look. She moved away from Laura, three feet apart scoffing.

"Why aren't you all getting it? Why are you trying to pin Dominion on me? I don't love and I can't marry someone that I don't love,I want to be with someone that will make me happy," Rachelle uttered, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I will give you the grace of one week to fix this or I'll disown you. I will throw you on the streets and don't think I won't fulfill my words. Marry him or be left with nothing and live on the street."

"No, I won't fix anything," Her expression hardened.

"Rachelle, you will regret this. You will crawl coming back very soon, is it not you Rachelle Morrison. You will come,"

Rachelle smiled, "No, I won't this time around. Mark my words, I won't and I won't marry Dominion, the man I don't love,"

Morgen  turned her back against Rachelle as her phone began to ring. Morgen  tried talking but Rachelle cut her off by leaving the house. She couldn't bear the pressure they were placing on her.

As she got outside the house, she bumped into a figure standing outside. His face looked familiar. Romeo Barrington

She remembered coming across him once in her past life but they barely talk to each other.

"I'm sorry I bumped into you," Rachelle apologized and he just gazed at her.

"Are you Morrison's daughter?, Morgen, little sister? I guess you should be her sister with this eyes I'm looking at,"

Rachelle looked at him. Has he ever noticed her, and why was he staring at her like that?

"Do you know me? Have we seen each other before?" Rachelle asked, acting like one that has come across him before in her entire life even though she only came across him once which was in her past life.

"Do I need to know you?"

"She's my sister, do we resemble each other so much to that extent and why are you here? Are you here for Morgen?" She asked, trying to sound calm and reserved after the heated argument she just had with her mother, and Laura. The whole drama thing made her angry

"You two don't resemble each other but I could see that desperation and weakness in your eyes. I'm here for Morgen and she will be here soon," His gazed intensified as it  bored into hers.

She felt stung by his harsh words. "What do you mean desperate, I'm not desperate about anything and I'm not weak," before he could respond, the sound of the gate opening interrupted the tense moments.

Morgen came outside, pushing Rachelle aside with her arm as she flung herself on Romeo, smiling sincerely.

"Romeo, I'm glad you're here. This is my sister, Rachelle," Morgen introduced and faced Romeo back immediately, giving Rachelle no chance to talk.

Rachelle watched, as Morgen gaze adoringly at Romeo. She realized, with a start, that her sister was deeply in love with him.

And then, a startling thought occurred to her. She wanted Romeo too. The billionaire, with his piercing gaze and enigmatic smile, and Morgen attitude had stirred something within her.

"Morgen  wants him, and sadly, I want him too. Sorry Laura, little sister suddenly got greedy, and I can't help that urge I'm feeling."
