CHAPTER 41

Olivia pov

"Mom, don’t do that! You’re ruining it!" I yelled as David's mom dumped a ton of chocolate into the cake mix we were making.

She just laughed and said, "Aren't we all chocolate lovers?" I sighed, "Yeah, but not until you both end up with diabetes!" I said, hearing me. She shot me a playful glare that made me burst out laughing. I never expected that hanging out with David's parents would make me this happy.

David's mom told me to call her 'Mom' since I'm marrying her son, which is kind of sweet. After chatting with David's dad that night, I felt way more at ease. He's pretty chill and laughs with us, but he can get annoyed easily, just like David. Right now, Mom and I are in the kitchen trying to bake a cake.

Honestly, Mom doesn’t really know how to bake, but I’m teaching her, even though she’s not really paying attention. I always wished I had this kind of bond with my real mom, but now I do.
