CHAPTER – 40

David pov

"The food is amazing, right David?" the investor said, forcing a smile out of me as I downed my red wine in one go. What’s happening to me? I usually pay attention at every meeting or dinner party for our company, but right now, I can’t focus.

The only thing on my mind is Olvia. Is she sleeping well? Eating properly? Is she having nightmares without me? At least I feel a bit better knowing my mom called yesterday, saying she wants Olvia to spend some time with her, so she’s taking her home. Honestly, I can’t wrap my head around it. Maybe she wants to get to know Olvia better.

I know my mom loves me, but she doesn’t show it much because of Dad; she loves him more than anything. I really want to say no, but I don’t have a choice. It’s better for Olvia to be with my family than to be alone. What worries me is Amelia. I haven’t talked to her since I told her to cut ties with Zayden.

I doubt she’ll actually listen to me and stop seeing him, and I’m afraid she might spill ever
