I trust my husband. That word—trust—keeps echoing in my head, a relentless mantra that both comforts and torments me. I toss my pen onto my desk, the clatter breaking the silence of my office, just as my company phone rings, pulling me back to reality. I pick it up, my voice steady as I say, "Sir, you have a meeting, and I have some files to send you," my secretary informs me, her tone professional yet tinged with concern.

I let out a sigh, the weight of the day pressing down on me. "Cancel everything; I’m not coming into the office," I reply, my voice firmer than I feel, and I hang up abruptly. Leaning back in my chair, I feel the heaviness of my thoughts settle around me like a thick fog. She believes in me—no one else has that kind of faith, not for money or anything else. Just me. But Lilly is about to disrupt my peace at home, while Olivia handles everything with a level of maturity I never expected from her.
