" There are rumors that Jackson has found his mate"

Scarlet pretended not to hear what kesley, her best friend told her. They both went to their class.

During the lesson period, scarlet was thinking about what her friend told her, she wasn't paying attention to the lesson going on, and she knew her best friend would not tell her such a thing without being sure. She turned and look at Jackson who was at her back but avoided eye contact.

After the lesson was over, she joined Kesley at the cafeteria.

"What did you order for me," she asked anxiously

" Some snack with fruit juice"

" Thanks, you're the best"

"Hello, can I join you guys"

" Yes, of course, you're free to"

Scarlet did not like Clark, because he is talkative, she knew he would not be silent for a long time.

In their school, there are about six to ten who are werewolves in there school and Clark was one of them.

"I have something to tell you"

"No," scarlet said

" Go ahead," Kesley said lookin' at her friend.

" I heard that your father's beta son is getting married soon, they said he found his mate during the moonlight festival.

Scarlet bent her head. She did not know if she was to cry or not.

" Why are you girls not saying anything"

Kesley signed at looked at Clark angrily.

"Congrats to him, is that what you want to hear"

Scarlet could not bear it anymore, she stood up and left, running towards the restroom. On her way, she quaked someone, and the person dragged her to a corner. She raised her head to see who the person was and found out that it was jackson, seeing him she felt the tears she has been holding falling down her cheeks, and she immediately cleaned them.

" Why are you crying scarlet"

" Am not crying, something entered my eyes"

" ok " He went closer to her and removed the strands of her hair near her eye, he caressed her cheeks with his strong fingers.

Scarlet fit mad at his actions, she pushed him away and look at him with mixed emotions.

Kesley on the other hand has waited for her friend for too long to come back to the cafeteria. All students has gone back home, and she became scared and went looking for her. She checked all the classes and asked the cleaners if they have seen scarlet but three of them gave her the same answer which is no. She remembered that she have not checked upstairs. As she was climbing the staircase, she heard someone crying but in a very low voice, and the sound was coming from under the staircase. She went in the direction of the noise and saw Scarlet in a corner crying.

Kesley dragged her out and hugged her.

" It's ok Scarlet, stop crying, I know is painful when you hear that your mate has found another person, and is a good thing that he has not bitten you". She said trying to console Scarlet.

" Maybe you can find another person who will love you"

" It's not possible, it has not happened to anyone, maybe your fate is different from others"

" I know you're saying this just to console me, thanks, let's go home am not going to work today"

" Enough Scarlet just because someone who doesn't care about your feelings, he did not even tell you, and you're just wasting your tears for nothing, it's not the end of the world, you should live happily and not for a fool."

With anger, she left scarlet behind.

" Wait for me Kesley" Kesley ignored her and walked faster.

She reached home before Scarlet and went to her room. Scarlet reaches home a few minutes later, she lay down on her bed thinking about what Kesley told her, she wished it could happen, but it can't because for generations no werewolf has ever had a second mate.

The next day Scarlet and Kesley did their morning routine and went to school. As they entered the school people were staring at them, Scarlet always felt uncomfortable when people stares at her but with time she got used to it. The bell rang and the student went to their various classes. Scarlet went to her music class.

Each of them was given their test result and Scarlet got the highest score, she is the best in her class followed by Jackson.

The teacher taught them for a while and gave each of them musical notes to study and left the class.

Scarlet waited for all her class members to leave and Jackson to wait.

" We need to talk"

" ok"

" I... Yeah... I"

"If you're not ready to tell me, you can do that later"

" No, am ready, I heard about something, yeah they said the son of the Beta has found his mate and he was going to get married soon" Scarlet bit her lips holding back her tears, she knew the answer but she just wanted to hear it from him.

" Yeah it's, I forgot to tell you since you know I invite you to come to the wedding, nooo I once again forgot that you are the Alpha's daughter, you don't need to be invited because you can come with your father"

Scarlet bent her head and cleaned the tears that were about to fall.

" I thought you said that I was your mate, what is wrong with me that made you change your mind"

" I don't know, I think am blessed, yeah I got the blessing during the moonlight festival, it was there that I found my mate, but what makes you think that you are my mate, I did not even bite you and you don't deserve me," he said sardonically to her

" Ok I've heard you"

"And for your info, I think you are familiar with her"

He stood up to leave but she preceded him out of the class.

She went to where she and kesley waited for each other, she saw Kesley waiting for her at their normal spot, and they changed to their multi and went to their part-time work
