“Boss, we have sent out job openings to various job boards and have also put out the vacancies on our social media platforms.”

Kael looks at this boss through the rear view mirror when he got no reply for almost 5 seconds. He has a request but it will be more reasonable if the Alpha engages in communication with him. Maybe today is not his lucky day.

“Okay.” Ethan's lazy voice finally sounded after what seemed like forever. They were now inside his Bentley and he just couldn't get hold of himself. His wolf has been on the edge since they entered Downtown Street which is quite strange.

Of a truth, he was impressed by the work done on that site. He had only seen the architectural plan months before the building began and he left all to Kael. His Beta and best friend didn't disappoint him after all.

“Boss, can I make a request?” Kael spoke again, but carefully this time around. When he got no response, he took that as his go-ahead and speaks again:

“Since I will also be the one to manage this new branch, I think I should get an assistant. Do you think it's a good idea, boss?”

“Do as you wish Kael.” Ethan cuts in sharply.

Kael could sense that something is definitely wrong with his boss. He just replied him with his Alpha voice now.

Alphas are known for having the most authoritative voice in the pack. Once they speak with this voice, it will force the other party into submission except if the person is also an Alpha too. However, they don't just use this voice in a casual conversation especially not with the Beta.

He knows his Alpha's wolf has been on edge for a while now and even more, since they came into the city of California which is most likely because of the empty space that can only be filled by the Luna. Every pack should have a Luna because she is the mother of the pack. More than that, she is the better half to complete the Alpha and keep him and his wolf sane.

“Alpha, are you…?”

“STOP THE CAR NOW!” Ethan growled at him before he could complete his sentence with his Alpha voice again. Just what is happening?

Ethan dashes out of the car wondering what that smell was. The fresh smell of soft, velvet, rosy petals wafted through his nose and went throughout his whole being. He will do anything to keep and inhale this smell forever.

Seems he is not alone because his wolf, Xander could also perceive it and he struggled to take control as his eyes flickers between flaming golden and their normal shade of grey.

A supermarket? This smell was coming from a local supermarket? He has to find out what it is!

“Mine?” Natalie questioned in her mind.

She was just telling Victoria that they had bought everything on the list and it was time they return home but who is this man? Mine?

“I’m sorry sir but I think you've got the wrong person.” He probably was looking for his woman or something because “mine” means a possession right?

“NO! YOU ARE MINE!” Ethan bellowed.

Victoria, who also heard the exchange turned and was surprised to see her boss again. What is it with Mr Woods today? Firstly, her and now, Talie? She stood in a defensive form while trying to free Talie’s hand from his.

“Mr Woods, I think you are misunderstanding something here” she spoke softly. After all, he is still her boss and she wouldn't want to lose her job because of some misunderstanding.

“GET OUT! SHE IS ALL MINE.” Xander has fully taken over by now and someone else is telling him that he got the wrong person as his mate? After waiting for so long, now someone wants to come between them.

He will not allow it!

Kael, surprised to see his Alpha entering a supermarket after the abrupt stop, followed him more like rush after him since he was taking quick steps to whatever section it is inside the supermarket. Wait, he is approaching two ladies and one of them looks like…Miss Victoria from the Human Resources department?

Is she who he thinks she is?

“MINE.” He hears his Alpha's wolf voice for the 3rd time that day that he just has to barr his neck at him to show submission. His Alpha found a Luna already?

Looking carefully, he could see that Ethan was holding the hand of the lady beside Miss Victoria and was not having whatever objection she was giving him.

It really looks like he will have to step in now.

“Hi, Miss Victoria. We meet again.”

“Good day Mr Kael. By the way, meet Natalie, my friend.” Victoria introduces Talie with the hope of a friendship beginning between them and who knows? Maybe something more after all, Natalie is a pretty single lady.

Natalie, still struggling with Ethan's strong grip on her hand, muttered a “hi” to Kael. Her friend can sometimes be impossible. Setting up a date for her in the midst of all these?

The moment his dark brown eyes came in contact with hers, it flamed a golden yellow for a second. His wolf is on the surface? This is definitely their Luna!

Ethan, who is clearly enjoying the tingling sensation he gets from holding his mate's hand, let out a low growl when he noticed Kael's wolf gawking at his mate. SHE BELONGS TO HIM ALONE!

“Okay, Mr Woods. Now that this is confirmed as a misunderstanding, can you let go of my hand?” Natalie couldn't be any more patient. Just because he is some mysterious CEO doesn't mean he can go about holding anyone's hands.

“And who said this is a mistake? What pack are you from?” Ethan demanded with his curiosity at it's peek. He had gone round all the packs but didn't find her.

A confused Natalie and Victoria looked at Ethan. “Pack? What's that supposed to mean?” Natalie voiced out, with confusion all written over her face.

Ethan was about to answer her question when he carefully sniffed her and discovered she smells like…human? Is that a joke? Immediately, he harshly let go of Natalie's hand he had been holding for a while now.

The moon goddess really paired him with a human? How will some random human girl rule besides him as his queen and Luna?

“But she is our mate.” Xander whines softly when he senses Ethan's disappointment.

“It doesn't matter. I will only reject her and choose the strongest female warrior as Luna. She won't feel the rejection pain after all.” Ethan replies coldly to Xander and shuts him out once more.

“Kael, meet me at the car.”

“Al..Boss, but…”

“YOU DON'T QUESTION MY ORDER.” The Alpha authoritatively cuts him off.

Kael couldn't understand why his Alpha would reject his mate after waiting this long years just because she is human. The moon goodness who had paired them together knows why she did that. Moreover, Miss Natalie has a beauty physique; one fit for the perfect Luna.

“Alpha, I really think you should explain things to Miss Natalie. She might understand how our world works.” Kael speaks up again after two minutes of driving down the street; away from their new Luna.

“Kael, you don't know what it feels like to have a human mate. Humans? They are weaklings! You don't think I will have that as my other half right? We are returning to the Pack as early as possible tomorrow. Enough of this!”

“What do we tell the Grand Luna then? Remember the ultimatum she gave you?”

*Beep*

Just when Ethan opened his mouth to reply, a call came in from his grandmother.
