CHAPTER NINE : A beast attacked

Isabella held joyce hands as she comfort her best friend. The corpse of her mother was taken away and the small crowd has already dispersed leaving Joyce and Isabella alone in the dimly lighted room.

" Hey let's go to my place, i can't leave you like this " Isabella said to her friend softly. She was beginning to get scared about the whole thing.

Joyce stood up from the wooden chair slowly and she walk out with Isabella to the car.

Everywhere was eerily silent by then because it was very late in the wee hours. Isabella saw that she has missed four calls from her dad and seven from her step mother.

She help joyce entered the car and she sat down as well waiting for the chauffeur to drive but then she noticed that the young man isn't behind the wheel.

She look around frantically in search of him but she saw nothing.

" Where is he ? " Joyce asked looking around fearfully.

" I ... Don't know, i left him here a while ..." She stop speaking when she saw a silhouette of a man walking towards them.

" Who is it ? " Joyce asked peering closely before gasping immediately she recognized the man when he was closer " that's my step Father. Isabella please start the car " she said urgently in a shaky voice.

Isabella in response crawl into the drivers seat but the key isn't in the Ignition.

Shit! We are dead! She said to herself.

" The key isn't here " she replied almost crying. She quickly locked the car doors , Joyce breathing shakily as the man continue walking towards the car

The man came closer to the car and tried opening it but finds out it was locked. The next sound the two frighten friends heard was his beast growling.

" Oh " Isabella mutters in great frightness that she didn't Know when she coiled herself in the backseat beside her friend.

The  beast finally emerges in the night growling loudly and no one came to help. The beast wrenched open the door angrily. Isabella and Joyce yelling in fear and calling for help. The beast who was so large reached out to Isabella and held her by the neck , pulling her out of the car not too gentle.

His ugly beastly eyes glows under the moonlight angrily. Isabella stare at him in stupefied horror for a heart stopping seconds before continue screaming her lung out. Then suddenly a louder growl came from the darkness.

Isabella stop yelling as she heard this. The beast which was holding her by the neck released his hold on her and she fell hardly on the floor. Joyce quickly came out of the car to attend to her friend.

Joyce step Father growl loudly challenging the new comer to reveal itself and just like a blessing from the beast lord himself Hayden emerges from the darkness. The beast charge at him hastily in determination but Hayden only wave his hand and the beast fell down lifeless.

The frighten ladies gasp in awe at the move.

" Is he dead? " Joyce asked Isabella who was lost in thought as she stare at Hayden's fingers.

He has  fangs.

Hayden doesn't have to turn to a beast fully before he could take one down. He look over at the man as he shifted back to his normal form naked.

Jansen and Farrell came running towards their leader.

" Are you alright ? " Jansen asked worriedly.

" I'm fine, get the ladies home safely " Hayden order before walking away with Farrell.

Both Jansen and Farrell are Hayden's men when they have to go on a mission, to save and fight. They are his armies and the bravest among the beasts. Jansen has gotten married already to a beast with three children while Farrell also has taken in a wife, human actually and he has a child on it's way.  They have been with Hayden for more three hundred years helping out and fighting as they always have.

Isabella though scared and grateful that she was rescued by her fiance was hurt when he didn't gave her any glance at all.

Jansen help Isabella to her feet and gaurded her into the car. Joyce followed.

Jansen sat behind the wheel. " To where? " He asked turning slightly to the best friends who stare hopelessly ahead.

" MT castle " Joyce murmured when she saw that Isabella isn't ready to answer.

Jansen start the car and drove away silently to MT castle. He pulled into the garage and alighted. He didn't wait for any response as he begin to walk away.

" Wait! " Isabella said urgently stopping Jansen who turn to her , confused. " The leader, please keep him safe "

Jansen stare at Isabella in confusion.

Why is she worried about master. He thought to himself .

" I will, it's my duty " he answered and walk away into the night.

Joyce who stood behind Isabella also was confused but she concluded that it must be because he saved them earlier.

Then suddenly the two friends hear a beast growling from the distance. They share a frightened look before bolting into the house in fear.

Isabella lead the way quickly to her room, she passes the hall to the large living room where surprisingly she saw her Father pacing about.

" Dad? " She called in disbelief. She cease to believe her dad was worried about her.

Martin stifled when he heard Isabella's voice, he whirled around to stare at her and pass her to Joyce whose clothes was covered in blood.

His eyes poped wide open  in horror.

" Are you both hurt ? " He asked in fright.

" No ,we are fine " Joyce replied.

Martin breath out, relieved at the news then he set his jaw tightly and then masked his face with a frown.

" Get yourself cleaned up. Is your friend sleeping over ? " He asked Isabella

" Yes, her mother died " Isabella responded weakly earning a gasp from her father.

" What about your step father joyce? " He asked facing Joyce this time.

" He killed mother, he seem crazy. The leader of beasts family save issy and i from his fangs " Joyce explain and Martin staggered backward in shock.

" It is dangerous out there then, i will have a maid to prepare your room " he said weakly before dismissing the them.

Isabella walk straight to her room in thought. Her Encounter with a beast for the first time turned out to be   ugly and then her mind drifted to Hayden dark.

He has saved her then had ignore her completely. She walk into her bathroom and prepare to take a bath hoping it would ease the pain she was feeling about how Hayden ignore her but she failed.

The more she tried to stop think about him the more his image continue appearing in her mind.
