CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: Fangs and blood

Isabella frown at Sidney with her hands clenched.

" What are you doing here ? " She asked , her voice shooking slightly. She was quite scared of her new step brother.

" To stare at your beautiful face " He replied easily smiling. Joyce who was beside herself with dismay breathe out shakily. Isabella made to walk out of the room but was stopped by the mysterious man who held her by the wrist " You don't walk away when i was still speaking " he said pulling her back roughly.

Isabella fell down on the tiles in shock.

She has never ever been manhandled, Joyce was very shocked at the sight. She quickly walk to Isabella whose wrist was now bleeding.

Isabella face widen at this, she stare up to see Sidney's fangs dripping blood. Her face creased in great horror.

" Oh my God! Did you want to kill her ? " Joyce  asked in horror shouting on top of her voice that carol dash into the room.

" What is going on here? " She asked pinning her gaze on Sidney who look away.

She swallow hard when she saw Isabella white face. She turn to Sidney with a glare.

" What is wrong with you ? " She asked with a clenched teeth. However she didn't wait for reply. She casted Isabella an apologetic glance before pulling sidney out.

Isabella stood up slowly, the blood oozing out. She stare at her wrist in awe and confusion.

" Stay here, i will get the first aid kit " Joyce told her urgently. She dash out to the kitchen for the first aid kit. She stop halfway when she heard Carol hush voice.

" What has come over you? Do you think Hayden will let this pass if he finds out? "

" Do i look like i care? " Joyce could hear the challenge in Sidney's voice.

" Be careful sid, you only have this power due to human's blood. Hayden feed on human's food and still is the strongest. You shouldn't act brash or overconfident. Isabella is Hayden's woman, even if she wasn't, the leader of Beasts family won't spare anyone that behave like you "

Joyce has heard enough, she walk into the kitchen for the first aid kit and walk back to Isabella. She applied the necessary treatment and sighed deeply after she was done.

The two best friends stayed put in the room together, scared to step out. After a very long silence joyce speak up.

" Will you tell your dad? " She asked gently.

" Why not? It is obvious. I can't stay mute about it. Sidney is a crazy man and he shouldn't be allowed to live here "

She stare down at her wrist which by now has been plastered and scoff.

" Will you inform Hayden? " Joyce asked again still in a gentle voice.

After what she overheard from her way to get the first aid kit she couldn't help but to wonder.

So there are Beasts who feed on humans blood to be more powerful? She thought to herself.

" No, why should i ? This is only a family conflict " Isabella replied shrugging. She knew better than anyone else that Hayden will be mad if he heard about it.

" Isabella? Can't you get married to Hayden tomorrow or next ? " Joyce suddenly asked, catching her Friend off guard.

" Why? Why would you suggest such a thing? You know I'm still having a very hard time on that wedding issues " She said staring at joyce who shut her eyes.

" Isabella " She called opening her eyes to pin her friend with her gaze " Sidney isn't just a beast " She said panting in fear. Isabella sat there staring joyce in surprise.

" I know he isn't just a Beast, he could even read ... "

Joyce cut in " He feeds on humans blood " She half yelling her eyes brim in tears. " I know he is dangerous and i wonder why, i never imagine there are Beasts who feed on humans blood to be more powerful. "

Isabella shoulder sagged at Joyce words. She stare ahead, aghast.

" How did you know he feed on humans blood ? " She managed to asked in a low , tired voice.

" I heard it on my way to get the first aid kit. Isabella " she called gripping her hands " I'm scared, please marry Hayden tomorrow. Your dad can do that for you. I heard your step mother pacifying Sidney, I don't think she can control him. "

" Wait! " Isabella said suddenly when she overheard her daddy's voice yelling.

" You know his lust for woman and human blood is insatiable. Why will you bring him here? I thought we agreed for him to arrive when Isabella got married " Martin yell loudly at carol.

Isabella shudder at the new informations.

So it is true, who is this sidney guy and where has he come from?  she asked to herself.

Isabella stood up and walk into the living room where the noise is coming from, Martin was so surprised to see her.

" You didn't go to work today Isabella? " He asked in surprise.

He haven't expected Isabella to be at home. Had he know, he wouldn't have yell out. Now, by Isabella's startled expression on him , he knows she has overheard every words of his.

His eyes fell on her wrist and he shudder.

" What happened? " He asked looking around but no one replied him with words. Isabella knees threaten to give way when she learnt about the reason why his father has been speeding up her wedding day.

Martin glare at carol before pulling Isabella with him to her room.

" Isabella, are you alright? " He asked worriedly.

Isabella look up at her father who has always been harsh on her, she had always thought Martin doesn't care about her but the concern expression on his face right there told her otherwise.

" I'm not alright, he attacked me with his fangs " She finally replied looking away to hide her tears.

" Isabella? I'm so sorry. I have wrong you in many ways, especially your mother. The real reason i wanted you to marry the leader of the beast family is because he is the only one who could save you from Sidney "

She searched her father face in confusion.

" What are you talking about? Did you know he will be here today? Is he so dangerous that i have to go into a loveless marriage to save myself ? "

Martin sighed deeply, shooking his head.

" I didn't Know he will be back today, he was only scheduled to arrive after you wed but now that he is here you are not safe at all "

Isabella swallowed uncomfortably.

" Can i get married to Hayden tomorrow? "

Martin exhaled sharply when he heard Isabella words.

" Are you sure you want to do this ? " He asked gently.

Isabella nodded, looking away.

" Yes father "
