Once they released me, both stood at my sides and helped me up. Then, they held me close as they led me out of the dark room and down the hall.

I was right to assume they had brought me to a basement floor, because that was exactly where we were. As we walked up the stairs, they explained that I was taken by a group of hunters that had devoted their lives to saving humans that were stolen by the monsters.

Holding back from laughing was getting harder with every step we took. The passion that laced their words made them sound like they were brainwashed for years to believe what they said.

When we reached the main floor, I saw more humans running around, laughing and discussing things no outsiders should hear. For example, how they planned to attack a pack in a couple of hours or where some of the Alphas had gone.

Those bits of information were supposed to be secret, but clearly, neither of them understood that.

The real shock came when these two morons brought me to
