Leaving my mates behind didn’t go how I planned it initially. Both were supposed to stay at the castle and babysit Magnus.

Knowing how overprotective of him Titus and Lucius were, I was sure our boy was with someone we could trust, so at least I didn’t have to worry about that.

It felt as if I had gotten one weight off my shoulders and a new one replaced it. Now, I knew I couldn’t feel at ease until I dealt with the threat and returned to my mates.

I needed them both to be safe. I needed them to be careful, not act like reckless little children who loved to get their asses in trouble.

Giants looked scary and dangerous, so I hoped those two wouldn’t get hurt.

I had no idea how those creatures acted and operated, but I was genuinely surprised when I realized that giants didn’t notice me sneaking past them.

Perhaps a part of me was sure they would notice… And weirdly enough, all of a sudden, after all the endless lectures, Kanox had nothing to say.
