Panic flashed across Alina's face as she hurried to defend herself. "Sven, you know me better than anyone. How could I possibly hurt myself just to frame Tracy?

Besides, it was Tracy who asked me to meet her that day, which is why I—"

"You never liked me," Sven interrupted, his voice sharp with anger. "You kept me dangling just to feed your ego, and you enjoyed having multiple admirers. Isn't that right?"

Alina froze, and her face paled. Her lips trembled, but no words came out.

Then, she began crying, putting on that fragile, pitiful look she always wore so well.

However, Sven was unmoved. He rubbed his temples in frustration and shoved Alina out the door.

No matter how much she cried outside, he remained indifferent.

And yet, I couldn't feel touched by his cruelty toward Alina. His bitterness stemmed only from realizing he had been played.
