“I’ll introduce you to him once he’s born,” I gently touched her round cheek. I felt a warmth of joy inside.

The little girl was genuinely adorable. Her round hazel eyes, small and full red lips, and tiny face with chubby cheeks even softer than a squishy toy made her irresistibly cute. Not only was she charming, but she also had a missing front tooth that added even more to her appeal.

Oh my gosh, I couldn’t help but fall in love with her. Her sweet, captivating charm ultimately drew me in.

She extended her tiny hand to me, her chubby fingers clenched, but her pinky finger stood straight up. “Do you promise?”

Her question made me smile again. “Yes, I promise.” I linked my pinky finger with hers and pulled her closer. “You haven’t told me your name yet.”

“Oh, right! I forgot.” She slapped her forehead a little too hard, which startled me, and I quickly grabbed her head, afraid she might tumble backward. “It’s okay, it’s okay, I’m fine,” she said, extending her arms again,
