Chapter 49

1 year later...

While pushing her son's baby stroller, Naya walked slowly into a campus area. It had been 3 months since the woman had returned to her education as a student to continue her master's degree.

Some people will wonder why Naya suddenly returned to college to pursue her master's degree when she was already a wife and even a mother. That's because Naya feels she is still very young and it's a shame if her youth is not utilized as well as possible. 

Before deciding to return to college, of course, there were pros and cons in her household. Arka as her husband initially did not allow her to return to college. It was not without reason why Arka forbade his wife to continue her master's degree, it was because Arka wanted Naya to focus on taking care of Kenzo, their son. Arka was afraid that if Naya was busy studying, Kenzo would be neglected.

While Arka did not allow Naya to return to college, Naya's mother and Arka's parents allowed Naya to continue her master's degree. The reason is the same, because Naya is still very young and there are many dreams that she can still achieve.

After receiving permission from her mother and in-laws, Naya promised to divide her time between studying and taking care of Kenzo. She promised not to neglect Kenzo because she was busy studying. 

Since Naya's mother and parents agreed that Naya should go to university, Arka finally relented and allowed his wife to continue her master's degree, on the condition that Naya should study at the university where he teaches. As for Kenzo, Naya's mother and Arka's mother would take turns looking after him while Naya was away at college.

"Naya?!"

Once in the hallway of the college, Naya suddenly stopped her steps when she heard someone calling her name. She smiled as she saw her husband walking towards her.

"Arka."

"Oh my gosh Naya, why did you bring Kenzo to campus?!"

Arka looked so surprised to see his wife bringing their son to campus.

"I just happened to bump into you, I see after I checked your schedule today you don't have class until later in the afternoon while I only have class until noon, so I'll leave Kenzo with you while I have class."

Again, Arka was surprised to hear his wife's words. Did he hear it wrong? Naya had left Kenzo with him? It's not that he didn't want to, but Arka was working as a lecturer and suddenly the man was entrusted with his son. 

"Naya, you can leave Kenzo with your mom or my mom, you don't have to bring him to campus. What if Kenzo gets sick?"

"My mom is busy at the restaurant because she has a lot of orders, and your mom is at a social gathering so there's no one to look after Kenzo."

A long sigh escaped Arka's mouth, and he was afraid that if his wife went to college, their son would be neglected like this.

"Now you know why I forbade you to go to college, right? Like this, there's no one to take care of Kenzo. When did you hear what I said?"

"Shh, don't get angry. You'll get angry later, I'm in a hurry because I have a late class. Anyway, dont leave Kenzo alone, it's only for an hour. See you My love, thank you for taking care of our son. I love you." Right after saying this, Naya gave her husband a quick kiss on the cheek before running off to leave him with her son. 

Arka could only let out a long breath. Now he couldn't help but look after Kenzo while Naya went to class. 

"Kenzo, why are you smiling? Are you happy to see your mother doing this to your father?" Arka asked the boy who was smiling at him.

"Alright, let's go to the cafeteria. Accompany papa to breakfast, i didn't have time to have breakfast earlier because your mama didn't prepare breakfast."

Arka slowly began to push his son's baby carriage towards the cafeteria. During the trip, not a few people looked in his direction. Maybe some of them were thinking whose child Arka was carrying because many of them did not know that Arka was married and even had children.

"Eh Mr. Arka, want to eat?"

Arka just nodded in response to one of the canteen waiters' questions.

"Whose child is this, sir?"

Instead of answering the waiter's question, Arka ordered the menu he wanted before taking his son to a quiet place. 

"Isn't that Mr. Arka? Who's the baby he's carrying?" whispered one of the students who was also in the same canteen as Arka.

"Maybe it's his child?"

"His son? Don't be absurd. There's no way Mr. Arka has a child. It looks like he's still single, he's still young and definitely not married."

"Instead of guessing, let's ask Mr. Arka directly."

Some of the students immediately approached Arka to ask who the baby was that the man was currently carrying.

"Don't touch my hand!" Naya snapped once they reached the campus parking lot.

"Why, you've already finished class, right? I'm taking you and Kenzo home and then I have to go back to campus because I'm still teaching."

Naya glared at Arka with a sardonic look. The woman looked annoyed. She had imagined how everyone would react when Arka admitted that he was her husband but he was silent.

"Why?"

"What?"

"You didn't tell them that I'm your wife and Kenzo is your son. You don't want to acknowledge me and Kenzo?" 

"Oh or do you deliberately not want everyone to know that you're married and have a child? You still want to be free as a single? Or maybe this is the reason why you forbade me from going to college. Are you afraid that I'll find out that you're getting close to your students?"

You could see how shocked Arka looked at Naya's accusation. The man could have sworn that he wasn't who Naya accused him of being.

"Nay..."

"I shouldn't have confessed earlier, they must all think I'm crazy for claiming to be your wife. You don't have to take me and Kenzo home, we can go by ourselves. I brought my own car." Right after saying this, Naya walked straight to her car which was parked not far from Arka's car.

Arka had tried to catch up with his wife and explain the misunderstanding that had occurred between them but unfortunately Naya didn't want to hear it.
