Chapter 12

Nathaniel's pupils were filled with a menacing gloom. His brows were tightly knitted, and the air around him dropped to a stifling temperature.

He'd deliberately instructed the PR department to refuse if Nikita went to ask for another female employee to accompany her. He'd intended for her to beg him in person. He hadn't thought that she would be bold enough to approach Zachary alone.

Now that things had come to this, he was eager to see how Nikita was faring.

Sensing the grim atmosphere in the back seat, Harvey didn't dare utter a word. He simply turned back to face the front. However, he couldn't dispel the slight twinge of worry in his heart.

Nikita was going to be fine, right?

As he brooded over the possibilities, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure leaving the hotel lobby. Startled, he exclaimed, "Is that Ms. Shea?"

Upon hearing this, Nathaniel looked out the window and saw Nikita strolling out with a bag in her hand. When she noticed the car parked by the entrance, her
