Nikita looked up, meeting Nathaniel's gaze fearlessly, though her heart sank at his words.

"I've worked for you for years and have never let personal feelings interfere with my job. Everyone here knows that. If I wanted to sabotage this project, I wouldn't have worked so hard to secure the deal in the first place. It would have been much easier to ruin it from the beginning."

Nikita's argument left no room for rebuttal, but her attitude toward Nathaniel was blatantly disrespectful.

His glare was sharp, and she felt as if it was slicing her apart. She knew better than to drag Regina into this; he would no doubt side with her.

"Fix the data and send it to me. You won't leave until it's done!" Nathaniel snapped before storming off, leaving everyone to breathe a sigh of relief.

Some even felt a strange sympathy for Nikita. After all, she had a valid point.
