XAVIER’S POV

I silently listened to the lady on the other end of the phone.

She kept on rambling about somethings and I just cut her off in frustration

‘’So you still haven’t found anything? ‘’

I asked coldly

‘‘ No Alpha king that’s not it , there must be something out there maybe her file is just classified but there definitely has to be something ‘’ The lady answered quickly

‘’Then don’t waste my time with your foolish talks and get me results ‘’

Without waiting to hear her reply I ended the call

It’s been a week since the accident and she still hasn’t woken up . I ran my hands through my hair in frustration sinking back down to my office chair .

‘’Fucking moon goddess ‘’ I muttered out

The moon good knew how to play games with me , she’s been doing so for the past three hundred years but things time she hit the bullseye.

I’d already given up hope of finding a mate long ago .

I watched werewolves around me find theirs , made pups and lived through life times .

Having a mate wasn’t the problem though the bigger story is when you find her after she killed an Alpha.

‘’Still nothing? ‘’

I heard Jason ask

I was so carried away with my thoughts I didn’t even hear him walk in .

Slowly Shaking my in reply to his question I threw my head back in frustration

‘’Damn she’s like a freaking ghost ‘’

He said with a chuckle

‘’A murdering Ghost ‘’ I added

We laughed for a short while and I could feel the stress starting to get to me .

‘’Alpha you should get some rest, you have had a decent night sleep in days ‘’

Jason pointed out

I grinned at him and said

‘’ you try having a decent night sleep when there’s a blood thirsty pack after your mate ‘’

He nods in agreement and continued

‘’But no one knows she’s here not even the rest of the pack so it’s safe ‘’

He was right though no one would think to look for a killer in my pack , no one would dare invade the crescent moon pack but still I feared.

She killed an Alpha and it wasn’t just the wolves bane and silver there had to be something else, plus I can’t find a single thing about her not even her name.

The day we brought her into the pack I had to clear the whole building so no one would see her and lucky for me I was the only one that could smell her so she’s perfectly hidden .

‘’Are the doctors still with her ? ‘’

I asked looking at Jason from the Conner of my eyes

‘’Yeah , just a routine check up . Her wounds heal quickly too so it’s confirmed she’s not entirely human ‘’ he answered

I was relieved to hear she was being taken care off but I still couldn’t help but think his stupid and irresponsible it was for me to just mark her on the spot that day .

Luca was already on edge from the silver knife she attacked me with and when he had the chance he just took it .

‘’And I sent her running in front of a freaking truck ‘’

Luca said in a low whisper

The past week has also been hard for him with the fear of our mate dying we were both a complete and utter mess .

‘’wow You look like hell ‘’

I didn’t have to look at the person to know who it was so I just asked

‘’ when did you get back ? ‘’

‘’Just now and I’m really wiped out ‘’

Lydia my little sister said crashing into the nearby couch

‘’ so Sleeping beauty isn’t up yet ? ‘’

She asked chuckling

I turned my head to her ignoring her questions by asking her something else

‘’How was the patrol ? ‘’

‘’ it went well considering we never have rouge attacks or any intruders lurking around our borders but you still insist on these little routine patrols ‘’

She said trying her best not to sound disrespectful

I rolled my eyes lazily knowing very well where the conversation was headed

‘’You know my reason Lydia don’t be a brat now ‘’

Trying my best not get angry I said to her .

‘’ of course, you brought a mate in, kept her a secret from everyone but won’t tell me the exact reason why ‘’

She stood up and continued

‘’If It were up to you , you wouldn’t even let me find out she’s even here and yet I still have to be the one doing patrol round to keep her safe ‘’

I was silent for a while as I thought about what she said. And she was right, she had every right to know what was going on not just as my sister but as the Gamma of the pack too .

But I just wasn’t ready to tell her anything at least not till I fit the whole piece into this absurd story.

‘’Ughhh I hate it when you do things like things ‘’

Lydia said expressing her frustration and walked out of my office .

I slowly got up from my chair and exit the office down to the living area of my building.

It’s one of the smallest buildings in my pack that I choose to live in and only the people in this building knew about my mate .

My eyes landed on on Jason and Adrian who were engaged in a heated discussion as always, Lydia peeped out of the kitchen as she felt my presence . With a slight frown she went back to what she was doing avoiding me .

‘’I’m going for a run ‘’

I stated heading for the front door

‘’We’ll come with you ‘’

Adrian said as him and Jason approach me

‘’No , I’m going alone I need you too here , watch Lydia and keep her away from my room ‘’

I ordered knowing fully well she could go in there in anger and my mate was there .

Adrian and Jason both nod in agreement and left for the kitchen leaving me to unwind for a little while.

HAZEL’S POV

Running, I’m always running .

I never look back I just run as fast my legs can carry me .

But this time it seemed endless I can’t seem to shake them off .

‘’You’re never leaving this darkness ‘’ I heard someone say and continued

‘’you don’t deserve nice things, you’re just an experiment gone wrong. You don’t even know who you are . Worthless and a mistake ‘’

The voice got louder and louder taunting my mind and I yelled out

‘’What do you want ? Just let me out ‘’

The voice let out a thunderous laugh that just got louder

‘’The darkness will consume you if you don’t stop running Hazel ‘’

My legs started to give out slowly and I felt my Energy starting to drain out

‘’I can’t stop , if I do I’m dead ‘’

I said with tears in my eyes

‘’Then die because if you don’t the darkness will come for you and believe me it’s much more worse than death ‘’

I fell to my knees at it’s words tears streaming down my cheeks

‘’You shouldn’t always run , find yourself , find you are ‘’

Everything slowly started to fade , I looked around me only to realize I’m now in a room filled with glass reflecting my figure .

I struggled to get on my feet and walked towards one of the mirrors .

‘’I’m not no one I’m the Angel death I’m Hazel Mondragon ‘’

With just one lazy swing I punched the glass again and again till I felt it started to crack .

I took a couple of steps back bracing myself for the impact. Taking a deep breath I ran into the glass falling fast into an abyss of nothing.

‘’ how fast does she heal ? ‘’

I heard someone ask

‘’Very fast , too fast for human ‘’

Another voice answered with a chuckle

I cautiously open my eyes slightly to get a view of my surroundings.

The light hit my eye harshly making them hurt .

‘’Where do you think he found her ? I mean she’s gat to be very important for him to be hiding her here ‘’

I turned to the voices and my eyes landed on two men , one was older and the other looked younger

They were so carried away with their discussion that they didn’t even realize I was awake

‘’Who cares , I’m just curious to know what she is , I bet the council will be pleased with whoever Made such amazing discovery ‘’

The older man said with a nasty grin

I grind my teeth together displeased at his word , I knew people like him and how they think . Reaching for the needle supplying drips to my veins they continued talking

‘’Don’t get crazy ideas, she’s under the Alpha king’s protection if you do anything stupid you’re as good as dead ‘’

Hearing what he just said I paused slightly

‘’Alpha king ‘’ I thought inside my head

Memories start to flood my head . I remembered running away from three strangers and one of them bit me then there was pain and darkness

He marked me I thought again

‘’Son of a bitch ‘’ I said out loud in any

Both doctor turn to me immediately I had freed my self from the needles and bed by the time they got closer

‘’Calm down we’re not gonna hurt you ‘’ one of them said raising his hands up in surrender

‘’alright , I’m gonna get going then ‘’

Adjusting the uncomfortable hospital dress I was wearing it came to my attention it was a bedroom I motioned for the door and the older wolf jumped in front of me with a syringe in his hands .

‘’I’m sorry but we cannot just let you go ‘’

He lunged forward trying to inject me with the content of the syringe

I snarled and quickly blocked his attack , I brutally punched him in the face which sent him fly across the bed . The younger wolf tried to restrain me from the back grabbed my hair and left arm .

Rolling my eyes I kicked him in the shin and sent my elbow flying into his face . They were both down and headed straight for the door but before I could make it out of the room a girl blocked my path .

‘’Leaving so soon , at least say hi first ‘’

The girls said smiling

Two more wolves joined her from behind and I instantly recognized them .

Getting ready to attack With doubt in my mind wether I was strong enough to take the three of them I balls my fingers into a fist waiting for them to make the first move.

The girl kept grinning as she sized me from head to toe the two other wolves kept their eyes on me monitoring my every movement . I was about to say something but the girl let out a loud piercing howl into the sky.
